My experience with Windfree Solar Company has been awful. Consider carefully reading the contract,…read morenoting if subcontractors would do the solar panel installation, if so, will Windfree cover losses, if applicable. In addition, make sure all the permit is pulled with your municipal, along with the correct schematics for the solar panels, both were an issue here. After speaking with Adam Perri, Director of Windfree Solar, I was told, due to the workers were subcontractors, the destruction of my personal outdoor equipment and garage was not Windfree problem. All the woes, leaves me with the savings from the schematics of 77% savings, panned out to 18%. Monitoring for the solar panels based on the information I was given was a country outside the U.S., with no option to opt out of 3rd party advertisement. No thank you! Value=NONE!

This company are bailed out from a 1-star review by the fact that they subcontract the installation…read moreto a pretty decent electrical contractor. Windfree Solar as a company are pretty sub par. These guys installed my solar panel system, Pretty decent size system. Living in Chicago there are certain permit requirements so you are limited as to who you can actually go with. People have asked me for a recommendation and I cannot in good conscience give these guys a nod. Their organization is atrocious. The only competent member of staff that I have dealt with is the sales person Renner. I had a project manager by the name of Mark Anderson, who was either woefully, incompetent or just didn't give a crap. And he was either fired or quit before the end of my project, which threw it into limbo. There were errors on the submittals for the permit, They were errors with the details of my system. Come time for inspection. Even organizing the initial measurements and details was not without some drama. So here we are almost 8 months after my system has been energized, come to find out that due to another error on my paperwork, the energy credits Which I am due to be paid well take an additional six months. The only reason I found this out is that somebody decided to email me to let me know that I needed to re-sign my paperwork, but then when I asked questions as to why I received no response. And that seems to be the theme of this company. I get that they are essentially a facilitator of the installation and supposedly able to take care of the paperwork required for this kind of project, but they took a pretty decent commission for those services. I know this because the actual Supplier of the solar panels has to write to me to tell me how much the solar panels actually cost. I don't begrudge them making money on that service, I would've appreciated that they actually did the service correctly for which they were paid. Doesn't seem unreasonable. That being said, I would recommend their installers for whom I will write a separate review but these guys... I would give a hard hard pass. You can do the paperwork yourself, and save yourself about $8000 and dealing with amateurs apparently.

The staff is very responsive - theyll call, email, and even text you to work out anything and communicate as needed They give you the option to virtually provide photos of your setup for the initial proposal of an installation without requiring them to send someone to inspect things, which saves time for both parties. Once received, they'll verify the feasibility of the installation and draw up an official proposal for your review. I had a couple prerequisites to handle prior but once ready, they are quick to get back to you with all of the official documents From there, theyll send the engineers/electricians down to do the installation. Vasili handled my job and did amazing work. Super friendly and knowledgeable, great conversation, finished in 2 hours. He walked me through the game plan, insisted that I prioritized what location fit my preference over what would be easier to do, and executed it independently in a timely fashion. Overall very satisfied with the service from Kapital Electric :)

I don't even know where to begin! After I signed the contract with 93energy to install solar panels…read moreand upgrade my electrical service to 200 amps, it took a staggering 8 months for the system to be fully operational. During installation, they installed a Span Panel, but tried to charge me extra to complete the 200-amp hookup--even though I had it in writing that the upgrade was part of the contract. I had to show them their own emails to avoid the extra cost. When they finally finished and the system was running, I discovered they overcharged me by $800 through the finance company. They promised a refund, but the check that arrived was $200 short. One of the main reasons I chose this company was for their unique tax incentives, but when tax time came around, they outsourced the paperwork to an outside company without giving any guidance on how to use it. I had to hire a tax consultant just to figure it out. Since the system has been running, it has never produced as much energy as promised. After I asked why, it took them two months to respond, saying "electrical noise" was to blame, but they offered no solution or fix. Then, a year after installation, a tornado damaged my roof. Before signing the contract, I specifically asked how much it would cost to take down and reinstall the panels for a roof replacement, and they quoted around $2,000. Now that I actually need the work done, they've nearly doubled that estimate, citing increased labor costs. Fortunately, insurance will cover most of it, but it took them weeks to respond, and the earliest they can start is over a month away. To be clear, everyone I've spoken to at the company has been very nice, but the business as a whole is disorganized and unprofessional. They've made multiple mistakes throughout the entire process--mistakes that would have cost me a lot of money if I hadn't been keeping a close eye on everything. In summary, everything I was promised by 93energy has fallen short. I'm sure they do well for some customers in perfect conditions, but my experience has been the opposite. It seems like their business model is to sell you the dream, but once the contract is signed, you're on your own.

I reached out for a quote and heard back pretty quickly from Christy Carlson. Her response requested I send her some info and my current bill to her email. I did. The next day I received an email from John McDonnell telling me he couldn't leave me a voice mail (I don't understand why - I didn't even get a missed call notification), but to email a copy of my bill. I did. Then radio silence. Followed up with an email 2 days later. Again nothing. Not sure if this is a scam company - but if it's a real business, they need a serious kick in the pants.

I wish we spoke last year during the battle to get this job completed from A to Z. I will have to say that one of the statements you've made is untrue and I have a email to prove it. On 06/19/21 I wrote to Chris and sent her the estimate with the damage. Her response was that she would have to get back to me after speaking to the big boss. Then after we were told that no payment will be made for the repairs and we were not offered the option for your men to come out and fix it, nor did we want them too after seeing the careless job they did. I will admit our roof was a challenge and I fully blame Nate at Phoenix for pushing this project forward. However, these mistakes mentioned below and the year long battle to get the job completed should have earned me a salary with the way I had to continuously contact everyone and get everyone on board. No one took ownership of this project, that was the mistake from day one.
