Distillery out in Sarasota that produces some award-winning spirits. I was out in the area for work a few years back and got to take a tour here. The owners are just a friendliest people, and they are able to give really great tours. The distillery itself is organized and really cool to see. After the tour you were able to buy some products at the merch area. You get to sample some of the rums as well. And I have to admit I'm not a huge rum drinker, but I do enjoy it. Second visit, the first was just a couple years after they opened. We brought friends from out of state as well as some local friends and family. Definitely a different experience than the first tour but not a bad one. The staff was knowledgeable and entertaining, and we appreciated having a place to sit and listen rather than stand. The tasting room and shop have a fun vibe and the walk up bar is plenty big to service multiple people for the samplings. A new addition for us was the Infinity Room. Such a unique space and a great talking point while waiting on your cocktail or tour. The actual rum products are just as good as ever. A great stop to spend a bit of time while in Sarasota. We came here at the recommendation of the bartender at the Bahi Hut while we were sipping on one of their delicious cocktails. They offer tours (free of charge) , but we didn't partake. We did their rum tasting (no cost) where you can taste their rums and it was wonderful. They have the Infinity Room Bar in the back where you can sip on their cocktails. What is cool is that this is the original bar that was at The Bahi Hut, Florida's oldest Tiki Bar. We purchased a couple specialty bottles to take home and a few of their toasted coconut rum. The toasted coconut rum is the base for many of the cocktails at the Bahi Hut and it is outstanding. Their non specialty rums might be available at your local liquor store. They do recommend Universal Fine Wine and Spirts if you would rather ship directly to your home. read more

Afterwards we got to sample some of the finest tasting rum we've ever had in our lives! The toasted coconut by far is the best I've ever had! First, the staff is SO friendly and informative. They were in middle of construction when we arrived and a staff member was nice and directed us to the correct parking lot and walked us inside to be greeted by our tasting host. Our host had a great genuine energy and a love for Siesta Key Rum. She gave us a wonderful tasting. We absolutely LOVE this rum. Our favorite was the toasted coconut and silver, but honestly all of them were great. I would definitely come back for more and maybe even a bottle of the spiced rum. I was pleasantly surprised by our visit here. I've been to other craft distillers, and although the process in the distilling equipment is nice, the alcohol is often lacking. That is not the case here. All of the rum tasted very good. We bought a bottle of the Distillers reserve aged drum as well as the coconut rum. They use all natural flavors in their room. Actual coconut and coffee beans. They have a spiced rum as well I believe. Free tastes in the tasting room. They also have a place where you can buy a cocktail. They have of course, distillery, swag, and rum for sale on site. I was pleasantly surprised to find it on sale in my grocery store when I got back to Wisconsin. Before our flight back home we decided to check this place out and do happy we did. They give you a free class on how their rum is made which was not only very informative but fun. After the class they have a complimentary rum tasting. All of the rums were delicious and I'm not a big rum fan to begin with. We weren't able to purchase any rum to take home since we weren't checking a bag but we did buy some rum raisin ice cream and rum cakes. The tour of Siesta Key Rum was a fun way to spend a day out of the sun and it's free. My husband and I joined just one other couple on this tour, which was narrated by the owner's stepson. We learned about how the company started, how they make their rums, and their future plans. It was informative but the best part was the tasting at the end. We tried coconut rum, coffee rum, spiced rum, and silver rum. All were very smooth and tasted great. We also got to try a key lime pie shot, which was delicious. Their coffee and toasted coconut are smooth and delicious. They distribute at home, so I'll definitely look for those 2 flavors for our liquor cabinet. Since they distribute in WI we decided to get the liquor there and save our luggage space. But I couldn't pass on the cake. (A Taste of Germany is who makes the cakes they sell.) I recently visited Siesta Key Rum's distillery down in Sarasota and took their tour. It was fun, educational and we got to sample 5 or 6 different rums. The Coconut was my favorite. Very smooth, sweet and flavored but not overpowering. Like a sunny day on an island captured in a bottle! They actually dump fresh grown toasted coconut into the rum and let it soak for several days. They use Florida grown sugar cane for their molasses. They will only use natural, simple ingredients in their rums- no FDA laboratory approved pseudo-franken-flavors! If everything they said during their presentation is true then they really care about making the best possible rum. The aged, reserved spiced rum was excellent also! I bought a piece of Coconut Rum cake that I am having for a treat tonight. I can't wait to pour some of this Coconut Rum nectar into a tall glass of ice and pineapple juice and just float away on cool ocean breeze. read more

You wouldn't expect much from this small piece of property tucked in an industrial district. But boy was I surprised. Really cute bottle tree at the entrance during Christmas with an open layout of the distillery. The tasting room was quaint but whimsical. Owners and servers were very kind and knowledgeable. The process of flavor infusion is so natural and the notes really come through. I bought some bottles, which were fairly priced, some rum infused cakes, and ice cream. Everything was divine with such depth in flavor whether you went with a coconut, coffee, or standard rum. Ten times more worthy than your typical kailua or Malibu rum. Certainly would be stellar in desserts. When we are back in the area we would love to bring another carton home with us! read more

Stopped in here for a tour while I was at a local event with my family and I had to return with my mother in law because I knew she'd appreciate it! Looking up for things to do, we ran into Siesta Key Rum. Before going, we made a phone call to make sure the place was open. The staff greeted us, and we did not have to wait too long to start our tasting; since we called. They had the bottles ready. The place seemed smaller than the ones we have visited at other locations. The tasting lasted about 25 minutes. Our questions were answered, and we found out that they sell them at a Publix liquor store. We will look into that. My favorite was spiced Rum, which I had to buy and a couple of cute souvenirs. Wow I had to try the Siesta Key Rum. Was in my local ABC and saw it on the shelf. I was born in Sarasota memorial hospital back in Dec 1960. I grew up only 2 miles from Siesta Key. Wow this is a Great Rum. I have tried many many brands cruising the carribean and this is awsum. So glad I stopped in for a rum today and found this one. Once I run out going back for more. Next time I am in Sarasota I will be going on a tour. Really enjoyed the best Rum I have had in years. I also tried the coconut with some pineapple juice. I am on my 3rd now. The tour was informative and cheeky, the rum samples were delish (Lucy was so wonderful and answered all our questions), the drinks afterwards at the bar were AMAZING (piña coladas - ummmm yes, please!!) and of course we had to buy a sampler pack of rum for the road (no we did not actually drink it in the car). It was soooo worth the trip because I really did find a new favorite rum. I bought four bottles (and I was flying) and truly wish I bought more. I've been a huge fan of Siesta Key rum for many years. On a trip to Sarasota I was lucky enough to be able to visit the tasting room, the staff the environment was all super awesome. Although they can't do tours there more than happy to walk you through what's going on inside. Covid update: Staff all was impeccably outfitted for Covid, masks hand sanitizer, that was very comfortable. However, and I know it's a matter of choice based on each business currently in Sarasota County, they are not enforcing the mask mandate. read more

Oh my gosh - we loved this place. The tour was fantastic with Audrey and the distiller (I can't remember his name - I'm sorry) making us laugh and providing a genuinely interesting experience. The rums were so so tasty too. We had to buy a few bottles of the reserve spiced rum, the coffee rum, and of course some rum cake.
