Dark Door Spirits..... OMG..... what a treat! Bumped into the field distributors at a restaurant in downtown Ft Myers, Fl. After talking with the guys, they gave us a business card and invited us to their distillery just North of the Tampa Airport. Well worth the trip up there. It is soooooo much more than "just" a distillery. It has tasting tours, events for larger or private groups, classes for making your own bottle with plenty of botanical herbs to concoct any spirit you want. We found a couple of favorites. You need to really check out their website.... darkdoorspirits.com A definite stop if exploring the Tampa area.

This vodka, whiskey, gin, and rum distillery is located in a warehouse neighborhood north of the Tampa international airport and Hillsborough Avenue. The first time driving here wasn't too bad as it was very straightforward (Northbound on Anderson Road). What could be confusing is the fact that there are warehouses everywhere and you may miss the sign if you're not paying attention. I love the fact that this is a hidden gem location! The people who work here are more than willing to have you try out whatever you'd like in an impromptu tasting, if you ask (and if they are staffed enough). I really loved their Blood tai and Kola-da cocktails! They each used their own Dark Door mesquite smoked rum. I ended up getting a bottle of this, in addition to their lavender gin. I was excited to learn that they had cocktail classes in addition to their distillery tour. Good stuff. I think you can reserve this place for private parties also (Ask them for accuracy). It was worth the visit.

This was the first stop on our distillery tour. We found this place on Groupon but the prices are very low without it. The tour starts with a cocktail of you choice and ends with a tasting. The owners are very hands and and were spotted several times throughout the tour. The tour was 20-30 minutes long. They have several th nhs for purchase and several photo opportunities. They host a variety of events. You can find the list at the start of the tour.

What an experience this place is. I really didn't know what to expect. A few friends and I got the opportunity to do a tour here and the staff was very knowledgeable, they explained the process of how they make their spirits and the best part of all is of course the samples. I wasn't expecting so much variety. They offered vodka, gin, rum and whiskey. I didn't overdue it and try them all but they certainly do have their own unique flavors . I would definitely recommend this as a date night experience or even something to experience with a group of friends.

Shut the front door - this distillery is amazing! I came across this new business from the Groupon promotion, which includes a tour that you book online - very easy to do. They started off with a complementary Vodka (pink) based drink made in-house - very smooth & drinkable may I say & so good, too! We learned a lot- got in lots of laughs! The tour guides were entertaining and easy to vibe with. They also have cocktail, gin and whiskey classes where you get the chance to create your own concoctions! The Vodka they make isn't filtered - doesn't taste a difference to me & we got a bottle after getting a sample of all their liquor. The kicker for me is the name - Pandemic at the Disco (LOL) - funny & original. Parking isn't an issue at this large warehouse & an art exhibit was present while we scoped this place out.

Mark (and Back Socks) gave a fantastic tour! We learned so much, and had a great time. Mark was a great guide, and incredibly knowledgeable. A fantastic experience that I would recommend to anyone! I loved their creative take on flavor profiles too - there's definitely something for everyone.

If you want to drink don't do it alone. Come to one of the drink classes learn all about the process and of course enjoy a number of beverages. You will leave with new recipes and techniques to make drinks for you me next event. I highly recommend eating before you come, but they do provide a snack box just in case you didn't. Don't be shy mix and mingle. Fun to do as a couple or single or with just a group of friends

Went for a tasting and wow, smooth stuff. Brought the dog, had some drinks and hung out with the neighbors. VooDoo Chef was there serving their version of a Cuban Sandwich. Yum.... This is a nice place to come hang out and/or bring friends who like distilled spirits. Although they don't serve food they do allow you to bring your own food or use Uber Eats. Occasionally they have food trucks which makes it much more convenient. Stop by and give them a try. If you like it there get a Membership which allows you to have unlimited tastings (including your friends). Love supporting local business.

Looking for something different to do for a date night? Heck yes! This place is a must visit and to take a quick tour of. We bought a tour on Groupon to do something different for a change. We were so glad we did. The minute we walked in, we were greeted with a smile. I wish I could remember her name that gave us the tour. She was super sweet and very knowledgeable of the distillery and how the process worked. Before we started with the tour, we were offered one of their seasonal cocktails to sip on. I chose the Winter Collins. This was so good and made with one of their popular vodkas called Pandemic at the Disco, lemon, Rio Red Grapefruit and Vanilla. YUM! Once the tour was over, we headed to the front of the store where we did all of the tasting. This included all of their spirits. This was a lot of fun! We ended up buying two bottles of we liked the best. This was worth the drive and such a cool thing to do for a date night.

Super whiskey tasting/ sampling & bottle pick. Great gift idea for a whiskey, gin and vodka lover. Spent an afternoon sampling many different bourbons and rye whiskeys to mix and create a one off bottle and label. Matt and his team walked us through the warehouse tour, showing the process of making spirits. Blending our own bottle from samples with their patent staff. Another option is Coming just for the tasting $20 make your own liter bottle $120. Great fun, available for corporate events too.

Omg!!! So amazing I went twice!!!! As Drake says, "Back to Back!" I love the employees and the whiskey is my absolute favorite!!! I originally went to attend a cocktail class. It was very intimate and only allowed 20 people to adhere to safety. I arrived early and was greeted by Macy and Christina. Such lovely staff. Due to my severe compliance to time (class started at 6pm, I arrived at 5:30pm) Christina made up for it by allowing me to sample some of their product while I waited. I finally walked in and loved the rather sexy cocktail setting prepared for the attendees. I knew instantly the night was going to outstanding. The teacher was named Shawn. He had so much personality. I laughed so much during his drink tutorials I felt I got a bang for my buck. Drinks and a show!!! Score!!! A young man named Sol sat next to me. Well, it just so happened Sol was teaching a future class and attending the class as well to get some tips. Since he was a fellow bartender, he assisted by giving me more notes. Yes, call me a teachers pet. I freaking loved it!! I got all the goods from both Shawn and Sol. To make the experience better that night we made my favorite drink an old fashioned. Thank you!! Omg!!! You have my heart and it was the first one we learned to prepare. After the first drink, you get a tour of the facility by Christina. She is very thorough and welcomes all questions. The best part of the tour is the bourbon. They have a barrel experience you can try. Ohhhhh, believe me I have that set up already. Done!! You got me!! Sold!! After the tour, we went back to make 2 more drinks with additional tips. Sooooooo amazing. Now, let's get to the good stuff!! Remember the young man in the first class, well I got all 20 of my friends to do the class 2 weeks later that he was hosting. This was after calling Macy several times over and over to ensure my friends filled the class and she didn't mind at all. Both her and Christina were very appreciative. We attended on 2/18/21. This time is was better because it was all of my closest friends. I also got to meet the manager this time named Matthew. He was also very nice with a lot of character and also assisted with cleaning as well as drink preparation. Now that's a manager. Let's just say my friends loved it so much they inquired about future classes as well. By the end of the class, I was speaking with Matthew and Macy (events coordinator) to set up the Bourbon experience for us. I can't wait. The absolute best staff, great experience, great drinks, and amazing spirits!!! You should definitely go through that Dark Door!!! Their waiting!!!

We scheduled a tour and tasting for 4 at 2pm today. Matt, our knowledgeable guide, started us off with a cocktail before walking us through the process of making spirits. At the end of the tour we were presented with 8 tasting options, ranging from 80 proof to 117 proof! Be sure to eat before you come! We purchased their Pandemic at the Disco vodka because of the cool name (and it's pretty good, too!). Will definitely return for one of their classes/events.

Four of us took a tour of Kozuba and Son's Distillery on a Friday afternoon recently. According to…read moretheir website, the Only thing that excites them more than their spirits, is the opportunity to share them. "Handcrafted" isn't just a label to them, it's what they do. Devon, our guide, explained that every part of the process is guided by their hands. They begin with hand-selected grain, then hand-mix and hand-mash the grain to get the perfect blend before distillation begins. We were warmly greeted by Devon, and we were each offered a taste of Kozuba Lemon Flavored Vodka which was very fresh tasting. Definitely there was no chemical aftertaste as I often find in the commercially flavored vodkas. We walked into the distillery and learned that this dream started in 2005 in Poland. Zbigniew "Papa" Kozuba, a biochemist and businessman, retired and moved to the countryside. While there, Papa began tinkering with cordials, continuing a tradition of infused spirits that many Polish families honored. His sons joined him and Papa and his sons turned the hobby into a business. After a few years producing a successful line of cordials, they ordered a hybrid copper still and shortly thereafter, they were distilling vodkas. Later on, the first Polish single malt whiskeys and other varieties of the brown spirit evolved. The family decided to move the business to Florida's Grand Central District - an area thirsty for small-batch, local spirits. They have two handmade German hybrid copper stills which they brought to the U.S., one is for vodkas and the other is used for whiskey. I recommend that everyone take a tour to learn for yourself about the processes. We headed back to the tasting room and experienced several delicious types of vodkas, whiskeys, Sunshine State Agave and cordials, etc. The BarBox Negroni and the Cranberry & Juniper Flavored Vodka were my favorite that day. I'm looking forward to the bourbon being ready soon too. We stopped in their on-site store and did not leave empty-handed.
