We received three reasonable bids, but Made in the Shade was our best option after a small negotiation. Chelsea did a fabulous job explaining what was available to us. She listened, had a great sense of humor, and allowed us to ask questions and explore different design options. We even met Brando, the owner, who came out to discuss our order briefly. Then Josh came out to install our 5 new shutters. He was fast, very polite, and did a wonderful job. There are many options for new shutters, and perhaps, once they are installed, who you purchased them from will not ever be noticed. But we all know the problems that can occur with delays, poor installation, and sloppy workmanship. Made in the Shade was incredible, a joy to work with, and very high quality. The shutters arrived two weeks earlier than promised, so if there was one downside, it was that I had to hurry and paint the kitchen--not much of a downside. We highly recommend Made in the Shade.

We got them back about 2 weeks later... the 3 horizontal blinds were fine and clean but the verticals looked like they hadn't been touched! They were still filthy plus they were wrinkled and the panels looked 'warped'. They looked awful! Plus, we had asked for one of the verticals to be repaired which wasn't done. When I mentioned the repair for the slider window verticals, Matt told us it was going to take another 10 days to get the parts. We took the verticals back, paid for the three that were clean and waited. We finally picked them up on Oct. 26th. Yes, they were clean and un-warped and not wrinkly. They actually looked good...finally. Not sure what the difference was between the first cleaning and the second but it was a huge difference. As a side note, we had taken our blinds to C&M about 12 years ago and it was half the price and the job was quick and the blinds were clean within a week's time. I'm not sure if Matt is a new owner but the difference was big time. I'm sorry, Matt, but I would not recommend your services.

Then he told the gear would have to be replaced. He took a picture of the manufacture information and said he would have his person call Hunter Douglas about the part.
