GROSS!!! TONS OF PLASTIC TRASH IN THE "ORGANIC" SOIL!! DO NOT BUY HERE!
    Alex T.

DO NOT BUY GARDEN "SOIL" HERE! I had 10 yards of their "Organic" Gardeners Blend and it was littered with trash. Actual trash. Thousands of pieces of plastic and glass. This stuff belongs in a LANDFILL NOT AN ORGANIC GARDEN! It was particularly heart breaking because we had built a ton of raised beds at our new house and were excited to start an organic garden. Spring came, the weather was great and the soil was the last step before planting! Unfortunately, literally every time you put your hands in the soil you found trash. They said they would gladly refund me... If I brought it back... Keep in mind they delivered it with a 16 wheel dump truck. Do not accept this quality of product. There is better soil at the same price available at their competitors.

Received 5 yards of bark for a price nobody could beat and it was delivered first thing the next day. Bark looks great. I've worked with these guys for years and they always take care of us. I recommend to all my neighbors and family. We get our rock through them to. This was before our last bark, didn't take a new pic yet.

Super helpful and attentive! Lots of selection and the prices very competitive. We used our truck, so no delivery needed.

Rudy, the yard manager believed me and wrote me a new receipt so I could pick up the balance of my materials as needed.

My family and I were visiting family in Loomis and decided to walk over to check out High Hand. First of this place is HUGE and honestly so dreamy! Who wouldn't want to sip on a brewski or glass of wine while walking around looking at plants to buy?! They have a love garden and plants for sale to browse and enjoy. Nestled in the middle is a cute cafe adorned with lush plants inside. I didn't get a chance to eat at the cafe, but it's in my bucket list now. Once you keep walking, you pass some cute succulents and then inside to indoor plants. Next up you'll find an olive oil, balsamic tasting room. A huge variety of fun, different options to try. I ended up buying a garlic cilantro white balsamic for home! As you keep walking next you'll find a little art gallery and a little cute little artisan store. Then finally you'll run into the brewery in the back with live music playing too! Such a neat spot to browse through and shop a little.

The…read morelatest landscape project was to replace an area covered with bark to an upgrade to decorative rock for ease of maintenance. Hastie's has a variety of rock options that nobody else in the region can match. Best pricing, too, and what makes it really good for the homeowner is that you can buy quantities that work for you to avoid waste. From single bag to 1/4 yard increments up to 1 yard and of course whatever large quantity is needed. Still free delivery with a minimum of a four-yard purchase. I've had split loads where they bring two products to my home and still free delivery as long as you have the four-yard minimum. Local store specials on a few products when we can pick up the material without requiring delivery. If you want a small amount, bring a shovel and containers. If you have a pick-up truck Hastie's will load the truck for you using their skip-loaders. Very knowledgeable employees to help us get the product we need and be on our way in minutes. Huge variety of landscape materials. Bulk pricing that also allows us to buy small quantities at reasonable prices, and convenient delivery when needed. Always a good experience working with Hastie's employees and the product has always met expectations. Open Monday thru Saturday. A++

We needed to replenish some of the lava rock in our backyard. We weren't sure how much we needed,…read moreso asked someone at the office if they could give us an idea of what a cubic yard looked like. He showed us a bulldozer's bucket/scooper, and said filled up it's one cubic yard. That was more than we needed, but half that seemed about right. If you want to take home the rock you buy (instead of having it delivered), here's what happens. First, you pay for what you want in the office. Then, they will (quickly) get someone to scoop it up. If you have a pickup, they can dump it right into your truck bed. We had a station wagon, and brought a bunch of boxes and 5-gallon buckets to fill up. So in that case, they made a pile of the half cubic yard, and left it to us to fill up our containers. (We'd brought a shovel, too.) Here are a few things I learned: 1). Do not come soon after it rains. Especially if you're buying lava rock. We got a lot of lava mud mixed in, and all the rock was wet. 2). A half cubic yard is much bigger than it looks! If you need to put rocks down to a 3" depth over a large area, you're going to need many cubic yards. But if you just need some to fill up areas here and there, a quarter cubic yard would have been plenty. In fact, after filling up two 5-gallon buckets, and three very large cardboard boxes, we couldn't take any more. 3). We bought 3/4". I'd estimate that only about 75% are between 1/2" to 1". The rest are bigger or smaller. Also, a guestimate of 2%-3% aren't even lava rocks. This pretty much matches what was already in our backyard (from another source), so I guess that's just the way these are sorted/sold. We needed some bags to store most of what we got for future use. I asked the man in the office, who was nice and helpful, if we could leave the rest of the rocks, and instead get some of the bags they sell. He gave me ten of them (they sell for $2 each), which I thought was very nice of him. (He did say we could instead leave the rocks there, dump our containers, and come back for the rest. But we really didn't need that many!)
