They claim they don't have a referral for me and refuse to make an appointment. I can SEE the referral was sent to them. So my personal information is sitting somewhere on someone's desk. I'm a snowbird. Leaving the state in April. If I can't be seen before then, I won't be back until January and will have to start the process all over again. So far, this is my experience. I'll update this maybe, at some point, if I ever get an appointment. The "3 STARS" are the benefits of the doubt.

I started adding sea salt to my protein powder mix. Later I added other electrolytes and I switched to mostly drink alkaline water instead of tea or sodas. A lot of my aches and pains went away. I started yoga in 1969 doing football. I dropped doing it until about 1993. I have kept it up since then. In my retirement I am grateful that some days I can get in 3-4 classes a day. I was rear ended on my way to class this summer. My car is out of the shop after taking 50 days to be repaired. My body has had a few other previous car wreck injuries that got aggravated in the recent whiplash. A couple of my previous chiropractors had moved away or retired. It is usually pretty easy to get an appointment but they must adhere to insurance restrictions on timing. Office staff and the docs are all friendly and caring. The office is always sparkling clean. My main complaint is how consent to treatment is handled, it is put in front of the patient as you enter the treatment room with no opportunity to actually read it. It shouldn't be that difficult to hand out the document when you check in to afford a bit of time to read. Patients are only given a copy on request post procedure and I've not been in shape to remember to ask for it then.

I've been trying to work on pain management due to numerous surgeries without the use of medications so acupuncture is my go to. Dr. Nick has been a godsend for me and my wife. The cost is fair and worth every penny The staff is cheerful and helpful as well. The chairs have both massage and heat with adjustable reclining. My only problem is that the TV screens show locations around the world that I would love to go to. The Hawaiian scenes are my absolute favorites. I had an appointment with him scheduled in a week, and he replied that we could discuss it then. No urgency, no help in the moment. In the meantime, I tried calling a pain management office within his own network (Carson Tahoe Health), hoping to bypass the referral. Unsurprisingly, they said no. I was in a lot of pain, frustrated, and feeling hopeless, until God sent me an angel. Someone told me about Dr. Nairzi and his walk-in urgent care orthopedic clinic in Reno (United Pain Urgent Care). I drove there, arriving at 5 PM. Within just over an hour, I was evaluated and treated with facet joint injections at C2-C3. For the first time in years, I was pain-free. I don't know yet if this will be a permanent fix, but the fact that I could walk in and be treated the same day with no referral was absolutely life changing. I now have a follow up appointment at his main clinic to explore longer term treatment options in case the injections wear off. This is how healthcare should work. Not delayed by bureaucracy or driven by profit, but centered on compassion, urgency, and the patient.
