If you're a healthcare professional or entering healthcare and need certification or continuing education in the Central Valley, this is the place I recommend. They offer a wide range of courses, including HeartCode CPR, BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, and other healthcare education. They also offer TNCC when a group of six or more can be organized, LVN IV therapy courses, and a newer CNA program. For BLS, ACLS, and PALS, they offer both initial and renewal courses. One of my favorite options is the combination ACLS/PALS course with a BLS challenge. For healthcare professionals who have to maintain multiple certifications every couple of years, being able to handle them efficiently through one organization is extremely convenient. The owner, Kevin, is a fantastic instructor. He knows the material extremely well but, more importantly, knows how to teach it. Robert and Daniel are also excellent instructors, and the office staff has always been friendly and helpful. What really separates Central Valley Medical from other places I've taken healthcare courses is the learning environment. It is stress-free, low-pressure, and judgment-free. Topics like ACLS and PALS can be intimidating, particularly for someone taking them for the first time, but the instructors make the material approachable without sacrificing the quality of the education. Whether you're brand new to healthcare or an experienced clinician renewing a certification you've held for years, you're treated with respect. They have locations in both Madera and Fresno, and the instructors work between the two, so I've found the quality to be consistent regardless of which location I use. The facilities themselves are comfortable and temperature-controlled, parking is easy, and they have small snacks available during classes. You can also bring your own food or coffee, which is convenient when you're going to be there for a longer course. The facility is also accessible for people with mobility needs. After going here for years, I really don't have a reason to take my certification courses anywhere else. Kevin has built an excellent educational environment with knowledgeable instructors, helpful office staff, and a teaching style that makes required healthcare education considerably less stressful. For BLS, ACLS, PALS, or other healthcare education in the Fresno/Madera area, Central Valley Medical is the first place I recommend.

For context, several other students who had various illnesses were allowed to proceed- favoritism is another favorite teaching tool of the instructor. Fairly certain, I was actually dismissed because I was being a pain in the butt by asking the instructor to show up on time, or at all for class. She really was quite considerate in putting vast amounts of time and effort into really long lunches, independent study, and ultimately spending more time trying to dismiss me from the program than she ever did trying to teach the class. We even had the pleasure of having a former student. Or a personal friend? Come in on skills day, and the FRIEND taught us how to use gait belts, do sheet transfers, and made super rude comments at us the whole time, despite the fact that it was literally our first in-person day. Emailed admin about 4 weeks ago after being dragged around the nursing home and humiliated regarding my stomach flu and consequently getting dismissed, and am being given the run around about getting any of my money back, so in hopes that no one else experiences what I did, feel free to ask any further questions about my experience with Heart-to-Heart CNA Program. Not the case...I was singled out and embarrassed!! I was told I'm too weak to administer compressions, told my acrylic nails were in the way, and made to place my mannequin on the floor and work on it down there. I have never had problems here, in fact last time I came I breezed through and finished my test second and passed. That class was also full to capacity. The instructor was so kind and thorough and made sure everyone was all on the same page. Her name was Brittany, But yesterday, no Brittany. It was a woman named Michelle. She told me she has been teaching this class for 35 years. She was definitely on a power ego trip as she told me several times throughout the class she would not pass me. She was beyond kind and attentive to the only other two male EMTs that were there. She kept saying how we should be out by 8:30pm, when class was supposed to be until 9:30pm, she rushed through and skipped over video segments. When we were all done with our practical part, she said it was test time and stated that we would also be given a review to fill out rating her class. She said depending on the review, it would affect her job status!! Good review she stays employed, bad she loses job. After she handed me the review paper she softened up towards me. After the other two EMTs were finished with their tests and had left (yes they were finished first, no surprise because she stressed me out) As I was finishing my test and concentrating, she kept talking to me and making comments about random things. While I'm testing!! Long story short, I drove out of my way to come here. A 38 minute drive. I will now find a new location in two years when mine expires. Yes I passed, but it was the most humiliating experience. Three stars because she did change attitude towards the end and the other two EMTs were helping me and being supportive throughout.
