This is the Gun store you want to buy from! I have always been treated with the highest level of respect, and the staff there are very knowledgeable and extremely helpful as well. What is also nice is that you don't need to go anywhere else as this new and modern store has everything you will ever need! Thank you Sierra Gun Supply read more

This business provides great services to their customers and is very knowledgeable. They are able to answer all questions you may have.

Had a problem with my pin on my rifle , AJ was able to fix it very quickly. He was very friendly and informative . Would highly recommend this place to all levels of experienced gun owners. read more

The slogan "Shop local" is an overrated statement when it comes to Sierra Gun Supply in Auburn. Do yourself a favor and drive the extra 20 minutes to Rocklin or Roseville where you will be greeted as a customer and most likely save money. Don't waste your time walking through their doors because they won't give you their time as you enter the store. So many other great options in Placer County besides this place. read more

First off, let me say that the older gentleman was super kind and a sweetheart to me. I have only been to the shop three times!!! I was not treated horrible or anything just treated like I was kind of dumb.... BUT the way the other employee talked about the customers as soon as they walked out the door, was despicable!!! I don't know a lot about firearms, so I ask some questions that probably may sound dumb, so, after hearing the way he talked about the other customers and how we talked about the person on the phone as soon as he hung up, made me feel sick to my stomach!!!! When I told the guy helping me that I was friends with another person that owns a gun shop. He went onto ridicule that other person's gun shop and talk trash about them.... when I ask about a firearm that they didn't have in the store and inquired if they could order it, the guy spent time trying to explain to me why I didn't want the gun I wanted. On the last trip I was in the store there was a big case of ammo on the table in the center of the store, a guy asked the employee how much and the employee answered something like "Do you know how hard it is to find 762 right now? I might just keep it for myself" If you want a negative attitude and to feel depressed about the state of politics in Ca go to this store you will get an earful of complaining.... Just disappointed read more

This dude behind the counter must really hate his job. Like others have said, you get treated like crap before you even speak. Dirtly looks, cold shoulder, whole nine. Here is my visit. "Hey sir, you got any 9mil range ammo?" "Yeah we got box of 50 and 100" "okay can i get a box of 50 please?" Then this dude just starts having a convo with someone else in the store, ignoring me completely. His conversation with the other person in the store? "I don't even get soy, shit ain't for men, only woman drink that stupid shit" so I politely corrected him and walked out. (My kid needed soy to survive) Dude is angry and sexist for some reason. Maybe take a vacation and come back with a better attitude? Work out the kinks with your significant other? No sweat off my back, I can get my range ammo elsewhere. Buyers beware it's not a welcoming atmosphere. read more

Just called in to see if they had rare surplus ammo, and the person on the phone could not have been more pleasant.

Always love walking into a store where they looked pissed just because you came in. Have been in twice. Last time was a few months ago and I came back just to see if these guys were just having a bad day the first time I came in...Nope!!! Sucked just as bad this time. fat guy behind register would not even get up younger guy was up and moving but still acting like he was pissed that I came in to bother him. Went down to foothill firearms and dropped $900 dont waste your time drive right on by. Have had worse service but cant remember when read more

Not worth shopping local apparently, would have had better service buying online. Walk into an empty store, walk around three times and when YOU try to start a convo with the dude sitting there he acts inconvenienced and condescending about my knowledge. Buddy I have a 7mag, I wanna buy dyes, how hard is it (when you're already sitting with your thumbs up your bum) to just give me a price with out acting like I asked you to dig me a ditch. The older guy that works there has always been cool, but with the stigma behind guns right now you'd think you'd be doing what you can to make your store atleast a pleasant experience. Got what I came for, so 2stars, still pissed about that younger dude three days later:those missing 3 stars are for you bud. read more

I bought a lower online and it listed this shop for the transfer. I showed up and it was that nice feeling as if you should not be in there when someone finally helped me out they got extremely pissed at me as I chose their shop to do the transfer to pay for a custom lower. They told me to buy one through them and didn't have any in stock. I drove straight to Sacramento Black Rifle and they helped me out with care. Horrible experience. read more

Just mov d up here and had to find a dealer that would help with a private dealer transaction. Very friendly and helpful with no crazy extra pricing. Came back for help on a couple of my rifles. I was very happy with the service they provided. One rifle could not changes as what I wanted the other rifle could. In both cases I had great communication between the gunsmiths. Any further help, I will come back here read more

Thank you Ken for the time you took explaining your range of shotguns to me. Totally non pressured sale, with good selection & fantastic price. Your store has the old school feel of the days when shopping for a gun was a regular and uneventful way exercising my right as an American. Glad to have found you in my new neighborhood. read more

I just turned 21 and am far from knowledgable about firearms. However I knew what I was looking for and they had the 1911 I wanted. The owner's son was very helpful and informative and talked to me at my level of knowledge. After 10 days had passed I went to pick up my gun and he installed my grips that I had purchased as well, even called the factory due to the fit being tight and figured it out for me. 5 stars. No issues. Didn't get treated like an idiot for not knowing much. read more

Word to the wise...never go to Sierra Gun Supply in Auburn. The owner is one of the biggest jerks and arrogant people I have ever met. He has product in stock but actually refused to show me because it was too much work for him to go over the actual powder and primers he had behind frosted glass. I asked to write down the numbers so I could confirm load data right there and make a purchase. I'm truly astounded that a small shop like that can stay in business in this customer service driven day in age... read more

Don't bother, you will be wasting your time. over priced, $50 to transfer guns. no selection. bad phone manners. enough said already. just stay away. read more

The guys in this shop are old school, a bit gruff but also friendly if you don't act like an idiot. They're fair, honest, knowledgeable and straightforward. Highly recommend if you're not a jerk! read more

I've been into this establishment several times and have been treated very well. They answered all my questions and offered advice which was helpful. I'll continue to give them my business. read more

I have known the owner for years. He has always treated me with respect and generosity. I had to have some parts blued utilizing the OXPHO-BLUE® process and he did a wonderful job on them and was very reasonable on the cost. I recommend this shop for firearm services in the Auburn area. A full five stars from me. read more

I have been going to this gun shop on and off for over 15 years. My Dad took me there for paintball stuff and I have continued to go back many times. I've bought a couple shotguns there and am now in the market for a concealed carry pistol. I went in today and Dwayne was there (the owner) I told him that I was looking for a cc pistol and what his opinions were. Just like every other time I have been here, he gave me very good advice. He knows what he is talking about and doesn't spend a lot of time with facts you don't need. I may not buy every gun here but I definitely will when the time is right. read more

I had a horrible experience here when I went in for the first time. The man behind the counter treated my Brother-in-Law like an idiot when he asked what scope he would recommend for an AR. I will not tell you not to go here, but rather look around at other shops as well. read more

Good place nice owners! I've bought a few firearms from them at a good price and in good condition. I have been going there for ten years now and I always get my ammo from them! read more

I've purchases guns, reloading supplies, and had some minor gunsmithing done on a number of guns in the past year - Duane and Ken (Father and Son) are more than fair and I've always been totally satisfied with the service, selection, and pricing for a family shop is more than fair! The next time you don't find what you need at Sportsmans Warehouse, take a drive up the hill and you'll most likely find it at Sierra Gun Supply! read more

I have been coming here for 33yrs. Great small town feel with big time expert knowledge and service. Can't beat it.

I read every Yelp review before I entered Sierra Gun Supply. I was with my father and we were shopping for ammo. When we entered the store, it took Ken 3-4 minutes to ask us if we needed help because he was assisting another customer. We told him what we were looking for and he did not have the item in stock at the time. The store itself has a nice old school mom and pop vibe, Ken was attentive, friendly and competent. As an avid Yelper I would like to put on notice that Sierra Gun Supply has 10 reviews currently not recommended. 9 out of the 10 reviews are 4 stars and above! These reviews should most definitely be reflecting the stores rating. Minus 1 star for item not in stock. read more

I called with a question about re-barreling a Garand. He could have given me a song and dance but instead gave me factual useful information so I could make a better informed decision. This type of service is much appreciated. read more

What a petty owner!! I bought a holster on a Thursday, when I got it home and tried it with my concealed carry it did not work for me, it was very noticeable and not something I want to use for an everyday carry. I took the holster back on Saturday, still unused and in original package with receipt. The owner explains that they only do exchanges, but they had no other holsters for a Shield in stock so he essentially said "tough luck". How petty, I am new to the area and and avid gun enthusiast and they lost a customer for life over a $35 holster. I own a business myself and would never dream of flat-out denying a return just because, it's no wonder they are a tiny store that will never grow into anything substantial. Shame on you for such poor business ethics Sierra Gun Supply I will never give you my money nor recommend you to anybody. read more

First, I cannot refute any of the other negative comments. I have not used any of their services mentioned in most other reviews. What I can tell you is I had to get an FFL transfer from the east coast a number of years ago. Because of the crazy laws in the PRC, very few FFL holders were willing to do a transfer. Sierra Gun Supply was. Without them, I would not have my firearm. Thanks to them for doing that, when others wouldn't. read more

I always stop here when I come up from the Bay Area. They have a good selection of Bear Creek bullets, Black Powder, and other necessities. Better powder selection than anyplace in the Bay Area .Good folks! read more

Took a shotgun into the store for repair. They fixed one problem but couldn't fix the 2nd issue. The owner wouldn't take payment for his labor, just the part he had to buy. You don't find that kind of pride/honesty very often. Any time i need a gunsmith I will start here first. read more

I give one star because a no-star rating isn't available. I bought a used rifle from this guy a few years ago for my son as a family tradition. We hadn't taken it out for a couple years, but when we did, I realized the front sight was bent. Assuming I bent it, I attempted to bend it back then was going to sight it in. Of course I broke it when I tried to bend it. Anyway, as I looked further at the front sight, it became apparent to me that the sight was bent because the dovetail was machined at an ange. An obvious manufacturing problem. While I bought the gun from this guy, I understand it was used and that he didn't build it, so no harm-no foul, right? I brought it back to the shop and explained what I found and asked him if he could machine a new cut into the barrel or if he knew who could. He basically berated me to make me look like an idiot, thinking I was trying to get something for nothing from him. Certainly not the case. While a bit disappointed, the truth is that if I had checked the gun over appropriately I would have noticed and not bought the gun. It was my responsibility and I was just looking to hire his repair service. He told me to take my gun and leave his store. I did. I fixed that gun and have bought 3 shotguns from big 5, two pistols from Sportsmans, and other misc firearms, parts, and accessories in many other establishments. For this guy to wring his hands over the "big box" stores taking over the moms and pops in a small town is ridiculous. I don't mind paying a bit more to support the smaller, local-family owned businesses, but don't be a jerk! Never again will I darken your doorway. read more
