Two gentleman came out and seemed to be more interested in my lot size and what they could add on to the roof replace and gutter install. We actually discussed the roof little compared to skylights and solar. It was definitely weird to say the least but then they said they had to order drawings for the roof so they could quote and never looked in attic or walked on roof. They said the quote would be emailed in a couple days 2-3. The days came and went and I emailed the contact hoping to get the quote maybe my email wasn't correct. I'm then told oh yea they are on vacation they should be back next week or the following week after. Seriously ? I asked if I could just get the quote so I can finalize aware that products would have to be ordered anyways. There is no quote? And they will let them know when they return. I've yet to hear a response which to me is bad business. I did go with a competitor I'm sure they seemed to know the upsell agenda and little roof discussion. Thanks for wasting my time in the future if you don't want the job just say it.

In 2013, Ray…read moreand Justin replaced our ancient failed roof with a beautiful new slate roof with copper gutters and downspouts. We are delighted with the results, and would happily serve as a reference for them. Ours is the third of four roofs that Ray has installed on our street - and I imagine that others in our neighborhood will follow suit at some point. During the proposal phase, Ray was very patient and thorough, explaining each step of the project in advance. Before we committed to the project, he created a sample board of colors / patterns of slate. We loved it, and made no revisions (a rarity in our house!). When we got underway, Ray and Justin went out of their way to minimize the disruptions to our neighbors and us. Our house is almost 90 years old, and we uncovered a few surprises that Ray could not have foreseen. He modified his proposal very fairly to accommodate the extra structural work we needed to do, with little to no mark-up. Over and over, he did lots of little extra things at no incremental charge to us because it was the "right" thing to do (e.g., installing expansion joints in an inaccessible part of our roof, to replace some old putty that painters used 20 years ago). Ray and Justin are incredibly meticulous, ensuring that each slate and each detail are 100% perfect. And I mean perfect. Example: Ray rejected a very high percentage of the slate (from Vermont) because it didn't meet his exacting standards. The slate company replaced the material with a fresh batch at no extra cost to us. As a result, we trust that our roof will have integrity for decades to come. Did I mention the copper work? Our gutters can now withstand torrential rains with absolutely no risk of overflowing, and they look spectacular. If you're thinking about a new roof, and slate is a consideration, I encourage you to talk to Ray.
