While I was asleep, the on-duty hotel security guard unlocked my door and creeped in the door a litttle after midnight. We didn't know who he was or why he was in our room standing over our bed. It woke us up when he came in. Startled, my husband jumped from bed and shouted at him and the security guard fled. We called hotel security and the same guy came back. It was horrible! (FYI, no phone in the room) The security guy claimed he didn't know we were in the room! WTF???? Is this how things are done at this hotel? Was he there to rob us? Was he there to hurt us? We will never know because we caught him sneaking through the door before any damage happened. How would you like to wake up and see a man standing over your bed? What would you think? This hotel does not feel safe. I feel violated! My privacy was compromised. My safety was jeopardized. Stay at this hotel and you might get hurt in your sleep by the psycho staff. (It's similar to Hollywoods Bates Motel) You never know!

Might have been about the worst place we have stayed . Dirty inside and out. The smoke detector chose to start chirping in the middle of the night . There was barely any water pressure in the shower and took forever to get warm weather. They keys kept failing . The freezer was not useable as it was in dire need of defrosting .

Let me start by saying I did not read my yelp reviews!!! The wife booked this place on one of her motel sites and the pics were a lie. Read the fine print, office closes at 7pm and you are out of luck until you call a number out of state and wait 35 minutes for security to come check you in. He was on the back side of hotel breaking up a fight. He should of been out front stopping the drug deals I witnessed while waiting. No exaggeration!! Room was horrible bed was disgusting and we did not even put our bags down, walked back to the truck and booked down the street.. Will not make the mistake again.. READ THE REVIEWS!!!

I just want to start this by saying I am NOT a picky hotel guest. It takes a whole lot for me to really bash a hotel. But this hotel is the MOST DISGUSTING place I have ever stepped foot in. We booked a night here for a trip to Country Thunder. We checked into the hotel in the morning before the concert because we had been informed about their shitty after-hours check in process. When we checked in, we made the mistake of not checking out our room while the office staff was still there. When we did finally enter our room around 1am, it was obvious that it had not been cleaned since the last guest left. The bed was clearly slept in, the trash can was completely full, and there was a pile of dirty towels in the bathroom. Worst of all was the weird spot on the pillow case and the fact that there were dead skin flakes literally ALL OVER the room. There was absolutely nothing that could be done because the office was closed until the morning. We had no where else to stay so we took all the sheets off the mattress and slept. In hindsight, we probably should have just slept in our car because there is no guarantee that we haven't contracted some kind of disease from the place. When I went into the office to check out in the morning I showed the employee the pictures I had taken of the room. She immediately issued a refund. (I don't think I would have walked out of there without one.) Moral of the story: GET A DIFFERENT HOTEL.

I like it for temporary living. Nice staff. I wish they had it in the Phoenix area but it's a beautiful town with a big city feel!

Would give a zero if I could. Their hotels are dirty and trashy. Not worth the time. Owner does not card about the property.

They refuse to give me the number to corporate, they lie constantly about everything, they catch attitudes and get offended when tenants bring important issues to their attention. They are unprofessional, rude, condescending, and nonchalant. Me and my family have been going through complete hell from the very first day we moved into Desert Sands Apartments. They put us in a unit we did not agree on, it was a completely different unit and then charged us almost $1,000 just to move from one unit to another. They never put work orders in properly, there's not one camera on the property, I have had things stolen multiple times, the children/teenagers are never monitored or supervised here (they literally run a muck, they damage things constantly), I've had neighbors tell me that their cars have been broken into and/or stolen, another neighbor told me they refused to address the issue of there being termites in her unit (they basically told her to deal with it)..... the list goes on and on!

Somethings always wrong everyday, the pool and jacuzzi are always dirty we have lived here 3 years and was only able to use those amenities a hand full of times.. The office staff never wants to do there job and always has the nastiest looks on there faces right once you walk into the office. They change managers constantly so whenever somebody new comes in a couple months later they dont know anything, all maintenance requests are pretty much thrown out the window, the amenities arent being taken care of, the dumpster areas are disgusting, dog crap everywhere you look, lights that are out when you walk through the complex at night, no maintenance on site because they fired all the great people everyone has to come from Tucson. Also don't even bother staying on the second floor of the apartment, the floor boards are so thin that you will get the cops called on you almost everyday for normal foot traffic from the neighbors downstairs.
