I hope I can put into words how great Julia @ Sieber Studio Photography was. First I need to start by saying I was nervous about finding a photographer in Hawaii, b/c I was new to the island and didn't know anyone. I emailed many photographers and asked many questions (thankfully I knew what to ask b/c I had experience w/photographers in Las Vegas), Julia was not only the nicest & timeliest, but also answered my questions and then some. She was so patient and helpful when it came to all my questions, including the non photography ones, which I had many since I didn't know anyone on the island. You could tell she knew what she was doing. By the time we were done communicating via email I felt I had made the right decision. Then I met her in person to go over what I was looking for and KNEW I had. She also met me a few weeks before the event at the location so she could get an idea of lighting and environment. I loved the fact that she not only wanted to do that, but suggested doing it! The day of the event Julia and her assistant Will arrived right on time, if not a little early. They immediately started taking detailed pictures of the dress, bouquet and rings. Julia stayed with me to finish the getting ready shots and sent Will on to the ceremony/reception area to get more detail shots and pictures of the guests. She was so great with everything! She made sure I got all the pictures I wanted as well as active shots of the reception and ceremony. To make matters more difficult for Julia we got married on a beach, so she had to deal with a last minute location movement b/c people were sunning in the original spot. We also had our great dane Kali in the ceremony and most of the pictures, as I'm sure anyone who has an animal knows, they aren't the most cooperative w/picture taking - haha. She handled the changes & Kali sooooo well, she helped keep me calm, actually b/c of her I never stressed about it. I trusted Julia and it paid off. Even my guests commented on how nice Julia & Will were and how they couldn't wait to see the pictures b/c it looked like she was taking some great ones! read more

Let me start by saying that I wish I could give more than 5 stars.... I can't say enough good things about Julia!!! She offered to have a consultation with my fiance and I a few days before the wedding (we had a destination wedding, so we didn't get to meet with Julia in person when choosing our photographer - we decided on Sieber Studio on the recommendation of a cousin who worked with her... and we're so glad we did!). We knew right away that Julia was a great choice - she is easygoing, friendly, and put us at ease right away. She asked us exactly what we had in mind for our wedding photos and took notes on any shots we wanted so we wouldn't have to worry about remembering them amidst all the craziness of the actual day. The day of the wedding, Julia and her assistant showed up on time and spent a long time taking photos of all of our details (invitation, flowers, rings, etc.) while the bridesmaids, me, and the moms were getting ready. She popped in and out of our prep time getting photos without being intrusive at all - it set the tone for a relaxed, wonderful day right from the start. After she took a bunch of photos of me and my bridesmaids, she raced to the church to get photos of my husband before the ceremony actually began. Julia was ready for any photo-worthy moment the entire day (8 straight hours!) and got some amazing candid shots that reflect us as a couple perfectly. They don't look cheesy or staged - they're natural and beautiful and show how special our wedding day was. I was blown away when I saw the amazing shots she got... I couldn't have asked for anything more. She definitely exceeded our expectations! We have been going to Julia for our photography needs for almost 4 years now. She's done newborn and milestone photos of our 3 children as well as family photos for our Christmas cards. What can I say - she's wonderful at her job! She's great with small children, from infants to toddlers - super patient and really takes her time to capture the BEST pictures. For the newborn session she did for my 2nd child, my older child wasn't very cooperative and we didn't get a good shot of the two kids together during the initial shoot, so she invited us back a few months later to try for another sibling photo again and didn't charge us - and those photos are some of my all time favorite! Overall, she's reasonably priced for the amazing quality of photos she delivers, easy to work with and is very accommodating. She's got a warm personality that makes you (and your kids!) comfortable around her and in front of the camera. We look forward to continue working with her in the future and can't recommend her enough! read more

This review is long overdue. If we could give Julia more than 5 stars, we would! She and her assistant photographed our daughter's wedding in August 2016. Julia is a true professional, meeting with my daughter and her then fiancé months before to discuss what they wanted captured at their wedding. She met with them again at the venue a month or so before the big day so she could check things out at the winery and make mental notes. Julia's pictures capture emotion, precious candid moments, and connection among people. They evoke a feeling that ordinary pictures don't. In her pictures, we could see our daughter's giddy happiness, the groom's sweet anticipation (before the first look), gleam and excitement in children's eyes, Grandma's pride and adoration, colors that poppped against contrast, and great camera angles, to name a few. When our family and friends see the pictures, their comments are, "I felt as if I were there" (if they weren't in attendance), "It was like being there again" (when they did attend), "The pictures are amazing", and "Wow, you had a great photographer!" Cherished memories are rekindled each time we look at the pictures. Now that's a sign of an outstanding photographer! Julia kept us on schedule and was instrumental in helping the events move along smoothly as well as facilitating the flow for the videographer. She is totally unobstrusive as she works, and her pricing is reasonable with many photo packages to choose from. Julia has so much warmth and aloha. We recommend her wholeheartedly!!! I've shot with Julia about 4 different times now, even more if I include the times she's shot my friends' weddings. What can I say, I just love her and her style! I never get tired of looking at the images / moments she captured on film for my husband and I. She's basically documented my whole relationship, and I have to admit, her images never cease to impress me and others. After she shot my wedding, my friends decided to go with her as well, and they were definitely happy with their choice. In addition to her unique location choices and artsy content direction, she's very easy to work with, mellow, and makes you feel comfortable at all times. Julia and her assistant were amazing! I organised my wedding from Australia and that was hard enough....from the first time I contacted Julia she responded to all my emails promptly and clarified anything i was unsure about. She recommended excellent locations for my photo shoot so we ended up getting the most amazing photos that we are very pleased with. Julia is so laid back but at the same time professional that I felt relaxed when taking photos and not pressured in any way...in fact when other small things went wrong on the day, Julia just told me to relax and enjoy the day and not to stress out about anything! Her rates are excellent compared to other photographers and i think her work is much better than the majority of other popular photographers i looked at. I knew from the first time I spoke to Julia on the phone that if I chose her as my photographer that i would have beautiful wedding photos and that I had a reliable professional person working for me on one of the most important days of my life. And that turned out to be true. Julia was nice enough to allow us to use our hours of photography over 2 days so we were able to do a sunrise shoot, she even drove us to the location where we couldn't go with a taxi for the sake of getting the photos done on a particular beach that we really loved! ..... Julia took some photos of our son when he was a few months old. She was so comfortable working with babies and got so many wonderful photos of him in just a 30 minute shoot! I couldn't believe how many great photos she got. She is absolutely amazing and an absolute pleasure to work with. She has such a wonderful demeanor and you can tell that she really loves what she does, it shows through in the quality of her work. We love her so much and have had 2 more sessions with her, each time I am absolutely amazed at the quality of the photos she is able to give us. It is an absolute pleasure working with her and we cannot wait to have her take more photos for us. My only regret is that we didn't meet her sooner so she could have taken our wedding photos. Julia was referred to us by a friend who is a loyal client of hers. We hired Julia to do our sons newborn shoot which was an amazing experience. As a mom herself, Julia was very patient and was able to get some amazing shots- the photos turned out beautiful. We were so happy with Julia that we had her do 6 month, 1 year and a 2 year shoot- and we plan to do more in the future. She is creative and is always thinking of different locations to take our photos. She moved to California but always lets us know when she is coming back to Hawaii so that we can book a shoot and we take full advantage! We are so grateful to have found Julia!!!! I have a 15 month old daughter and we started taking photos with Julia at 3 months. Ever since then, we have gone to take photos of our daughter every three months. She captures the most amazing moments, both posed and candid. Our daughter's one year photo shoot I thought would be really difficult because she was walking and on the move. I was worried she wouldn't sit or stand still for photos. Julia was able to capture her attention, both sitting and standing, and again, we got amazing photos. Julia has taken photos of our daughter and our family outdoors and indoors, and both experiences were wonderful. If you want outdoor phtotos, she will meet you at any park. If you want to take some indoor ones, her studio is a perfect setup for that. You can bring ideas of photos with you to photo shoots and Julia will give you some ideas as well. Julia is different from other photographers I have talked to (before we found her!) in that she genuinely wants to take the best photos for your family. She isn't trying to sell you something with a ridiculous price. She is patient, calm, friendly, and so so easy to work with. The thirty minutes or hour session you have with her flies by. Julia is wonderful professionally and personally. You will meet her and feel at ease. Her prices are unbeatable. Julia delivers everything that you ask for. Once I had a chance to visit her site, Julia's style/vision immediately resonated with us and I knew she was the photographer we wanted to work with. Once we connected live on the phone for our first consultation, Julia was never further than an email away which was so important for our destination wedding - she was always prompt to respond and very collaborative with what we wanted and needed.
