Show up 15 minutes early, after a 45 minute drive, to be told the doctor they scheduled me with does not participate in my insurance. No, no one else can see me today....can I come back next week? So here I am, one week and another 45 minute drive later, sitting in the waiting room at 9AM when I had an 8:30AM appointment. If they're running behind at 8:30 in the morning, I can't imagine how long one waits for an afternoon appointment! I got in to see the PA at 9:05. She was very thorough, explained everything, so I'm very satisfied with the actual care given. But it is now noon, and my pharmacy still has not received my prescriptions. I called and was told it should be "by the end of the day." All in all, a pretty frustrating experience. Not sure if I'll subject myself to this again next year.

The Latham location was easy to get to and there was plenty of parking. The office was clean, spacious, and welcoming. I was greeted right away, completed new patient paperwork, and was taken back within a few minutes. After discussing my concerns with the technician, Dr. Menon came in shortly after. She was warm, upbeat, and thorough. She carefully examined the areas I mentioned and determined they were not cancerous, which was a huge relief. After waiting months for the appointment, getting clear answers and reassurance meant a lot. Checkout was smooth and there were no insurance issues. The visit felt organized, professional, and patient focused from start to finish. I highly recommend this practice for anyone who wants to be proactive about caring for their skin. He came in fast asked all the questions they typically do and put in an order for bloodwork which unfortunately they don't do here, but Lab Corp is right across the street. You just go, but it's first come first serve though there is a sign up list (in advance) for 9:00 that can lessen your wait time. I've also gone in and there's been no wait time in the afternoon. Also because they're an urgent care facility their hours are a bit longer than a regular doctor's office. Dr. Velarde has been my doctor for over 20 years now. I trust her as my healer.
