Tried this restaurant for the first time, and we tried it as takeout. The food was great, the chicken was delicious and the French Toast was perfect. Went here today for lunch. The parking situation is a disaster on weekends! $10 to park for an hour? Pass. We parked on the street and paid $2. The tiny interior is adorned with local art (some very good! some not so much!) and they play great music. My hubs had the hot chick, and I had the cuban chick, although they were our of the homemade canadian bacon, I ordered it regardless. We were both highly impressed with the sandwiches. I loved the flavor of the deep, deep, deep fried chicken on the sandwich and the service was attentive and polite, but the restaurant decor (or lack thereof) had a sad, frumpy vibe. This may be my new favorite brunch/lunch spot! The food was phenomenally delicious. Simple, but incredibly flavorful. I could barely decide what to order because everything look worth trying, but I finally choose the chicken salad sandwich with an order of sweet potato fries, both of which are some of the tastiest I've ever had. My husband had the Chicken Ruben and said it was outrageous (and they use H&F bread, so you can't go wrong there). We will undoubtedly be returning to try other menu items, and I suspect everything will be as amazing as what we had on this visit. The atmosphere is similar to the menu offerings, simple, quaint and sweet! And the service was impeccable! Everyone was super friendly and welcoming. I'm already excited about a repeat visit! When I walked in...the restaurant was empty for lunchtime (should have been my clue to get out of there). The cashier was nice BUT the food, the food, the FOOD was terrible. The chicken lacked any flavor and it was almost burnt. The bun was ice cold as if they had just taken it out of the fridge. The sweet potato fries were cooked days before and they didn't even bother to at least reheat them. I was highly disappointed and I couldn't take the food back because I was already at work. This place is a little tough to locate as it's tucked away in the corner of a building and doesn't face the road. That being said, you need to seek it out if you're in Decatur. We visited on a Saturday afternoon and had the Sidechick, pimento grilled cheese, and pimento cheese plate. All of it was delicious and I can see why so many people rate it so highly.
