Popped in here because we had just done a full day in Sintra (going from and returning to Rossio…read morestation right next to this place) without stopping for lunch, so we were pretty hungry. This place has some decent meats... fish was good, but could use more sauce (also, has lots of bones so be prepared). Grilled meats were better than expected for the price (had chicken legs, sliced beef, and sausages.) Soup wasn't bad... Service was fine and pretty friendly. Also, at 6:30, the place was pretty empty (but maybe that's because their promo price of less than 8 euros per person goes up to about 9 euros after 6 pm), so no problem getting a seat. Also had a 1 liter pitcher of red sangria, which was pretty decent. My only complaints would be (1) the food is pretty salty (but this is true of almost every restaurant in Portugal), (2) they could have had better veggie/salad bar selections. There was pretty much no warm/cooked vegetables on offer (I believe some cooked sliced carrots were the only option!)... other than that, the only options were cold chopped veggies (lettuce, green bell pepper, onion, or tomato) or beans (black or garbanzo.) Even some cooked green beans or cauliflower or squash or something would have been nice. I do think they offer those sometimes, but none when we went there, which was disappointing since we were really craving some vegetables with the meal (I would have given this place 4 stars if they had served some.)

The restaurant was quaint and intimate , with a small buffet that easily fills you up. There were many options from a beef stew to a curry, a noodle dish with bacon, salad, and other options. They even explained the options to us. I truly wish we had more time in Lisbon because I would have definitely returned to try it again as the options differ nightly. I would definitely recommend this to all in Lisbon.

Cozy, almost romantic atmosphere. And just €16 per person for all you can eat! The menu changes nightly so here were the stars for me: Creamed cod. Might not sound appetizing but this was insanely good. Not too fishy. Veggie lasagna - really great flavors and you sneak in some vegetables. All the sides: mashed potatoes were delicious, the rice is a staple, the couscous was perfect, the carrot soup made me say DAMN! The service was amazing. The two gentleman there ran an entire packed restaurant effortlessly. Helping customers with drinks, explaining the concept and each dish to every person that came in. We washed it down with a pitcher of white sangria (drinks and desserts are extra). We literally couldn't move. We walked back to the hotel instead of taking an Uber simply to walk some of it off. One of the most memorable meals I had in Lisbon.

We went here based on all of the positive reviews, despite my wife not wanting a buffet…read more The staff were very friendly and the place was quite busy but not totally packed. There was an extensive selection of traditional dishes to choose from and we dug right in. Fried shrimp, shrimp lo mein, skewered fried prawns, baby clams, steamed dumplings, chicken wings, soup (not sure what not won ton more like a mix between egg drop and hot and sour). Some dishes looked better than others but most looked pretty good. My wife opted for several rice dishes, along with a few selections of Sushi as she didn't want all that fried food. As soon as we sat to eat, she pointed out that EVERYTHING was either barely warm, room temperature or slightly cold. I mean EVERYTHING. It was very strange. I went back to the buffet and the trays were steaming but the food was not. I tried different dishes from the first round and those were the same result. What made this really weird to me is the place was quite full and NOBODY seemed to mind or find this strange. The saddest appetizers were the egg rolls. Greasy, over fried and not appealing at all. Tried the spring rolls instead and they were pretty empty and tasteless. The soup had cilantro in it. That was different but it wasn't that bad. My wife hated it, said hers tasted like soap. Typical for some people and cilantro but she never noticed that eating Mexican food with lots of cilantro. The worst was that nothing stood out or tasted fresh at all. Overall the flavors were not bad but mostly everything seemed to have been cooked days ago. When you add lukewarm or cold to that, the meal becomes nearly inedible. Initially, we were a bit worried we would get sick later but the food turned over very quickly. The only thing we could figure was everything was just coming out of the fridge precooked and cold. It is our first time in Portugal and we had a hard enough time trying to get our waitress to understand our drink order on first sitting down so I did not bother to ask or inform them about our confusion over the state of the food. We were so disappointed we didn't even bother with the dessert. Really, who wants to walk away from ice cream? Too sad. It was only about 8pm when we went so perhaps it all warmed up at some point, but we'll never know. Better luck to the next adventurer looking to eat inexpensively in Lisbon with a craving for Chinese food.

Once admitted we were seated immediately as the restaurant was only about half full. The menu was quite simple with just half a dozen appetizers and their main dish, seafood rice served for 1 or 2 people. The rice took about half an hour to prepare. It was delivered still bubbling a bit. The red tomato based soup was full of rice, mussels (some in the half shell), whole shrimp and not quite half a crab. The restaurant provided a shell cracker but the tiny forks for removing the crab meat from the leg would've been quite helpful. The rich tomato soup was the best seafood rice from our trip. We were also given a bottle of piri piri sauce and used about 4-5 drops at a time to add a little bit of heat and flavors to the seafood rice.

(FYI: lots of tourists) They only have 1 main which is their signature dish, the seafood rice. The rice is cooked in a seafood broth with a good mixture of shellfish like mussels, crab and shrimp. You can add lobster at an extra charge. This dish reminds me of paella, but with more soup? We didn't really get any appetizers but they do have a small selection if you want to add more to your meal. We had 3 people and ordered one main for the table. My husband is not the biggest seafood person so it was enough but if you have big eaters, then consider getting apps. The place is kinda small and cozy but not overly crammed together. The staff was efficient and warned me ahead of time how long it would take to make the dish.

I presume they're both under the same management. I'm reviewing the buffet side. My buffet this night was £7.90--including a decent salad bar, a choice of two soups, and a hot buffet (including a modest carvery). Everything I tried was decent, and much of it was very good. Drinks and desserts are extra, but reasonable. The atmosphere was casual and a bit chaotic, but it was certainly an efficient and inexpensive route for supper. I emerged stuffed to the gills in less than an hour, for a shade over £10 including a pint of beer. The staff were understandably a bit harried, but generally perfectly pleasant. You may have to stand in line for a table, but turnover is reasonably brisk. If you break into groups of two or three, you'll be seated faster. The main rush seems to be 7:30-8:00 pm. The five stars represents decent and plentiful local fare at a great price. I'd be very surprised if there were a better value in the heart of old Lisbon.
