Especially since I ordered spring rolls because whondoesnt love a good spring roll and chicken pad thai. Ended up taking the pad thai to go but did taste it. We have been coming to Siam for years. Not until our last two trips to Thailand did we learn to really appreciate just how authentic the food here really is. The decor is simple and nice with white table clothes and Thai textiles. It maintains a casual atmosphere, but this is a restaurant, so don't expect the food to come up in minutes, things are prepared to order. The tables are spaced far apart enough to give you some privacy in conversation, which we always appreciate. Service can depend on how busy the restaurant is, they are always well-meaning and friendly, but when all the tables are full the service can slow down. The food is just amazing. Dishes can vary from the common to more unique offerings, giving everyone a chance to explore Thai food within their comfort zones. The kitchen lets you decide how spicy you want things, assuring diners never get more than they can handle. In our experience, there is no fooling around when you order something Thai Spicy, so be ready and consider ordering a Thai Iced Tea or a side of plain steamed rice if you're going to go the whole way! Mieng Kum: We never come here without ordering the Mieng Kum: Bok choy leaves topped some toasted coconut, a cashew nut and dried shrimp on each leaf, a small piece of lime rind, a bit of bird's eye chili. Just wrap them up and dip in the plum palm sugar sauce - the combination of flavors as you chew is a tapestry of experiences. Spinach Tempura: We recently had the spinach tempura for the first time - what an interesting dish! The spinach is flash fried until it is crispy, with a sprinkling of batter on the leaves. Green Curry Rice with Chicken and Zucchini: This is a flavourful dish without being particularly spicy. I went here during my business trip to Regina, I was told that it was going to be authentic Thai food so I had to go try it out. I had their Thai fried chicken wings as an appetizer which I tasted weird and soggy. I think they had too much battered on each wing and the battered wasn't fully cooked. Then for dinner I had the beef green curry with Jasmine rice. The curry itself wasn't bad but unfortunately it contained too much fish sauce so it was very salty. This restaurant wasn't too bad, the portion are big, prices reasonable and the service is fast. But was it authentic Thai food, I don't think it was. I was looking foward to having some pad kee mao but they didn't have it on their menu. Most authentic Thai restaurants will have this dish on their menu. I was also disappointed that there was no coconut rice. Overall is an average Thai restaurant. read more

Don't miss the "Hot Shot" appetizer!! Not for the faint hearted, be warned! The staff was warm and friendly, and our server was knowledgeable with recommendations as well as understanding and able to make recipe adjustments for one of our party who had dietary limitations. I was beginning to think I'd never find a good Asian place in Regina, SK, Canada. But someone staying at the Regina Sask Hotel as well said that this Thai restaurant is pretty authentic. I'm not Thai or anything but I gauge a good Thai restaurant by it's Pad Thai noodle dish. I definitely never had a pad thai like this before. It was spicy enough that it gave it a nice kick. There prices are also reasonable. The decor is also different than the US restaurants. It's modern in that they have electronic frames at each table displaying entree dishes. I can't wait to go there again tomorrow night. :) I just went there last night. I figured two nights in a row might be a bit much. I will definitely order the Thai Iced Tea with Milk again. They serve it regular or with milk. It tastes different than the US versions of thai iced teas. I will definitely order the mango with sticky rice this time. I visited this place twice. Wasn't happy the first time (for dinner) but the folks at the office said to try the lunch buffet. That it's better than the dinner menu. I'm not someone who does buffers but today I felt like Thai. Disappointing. As I say, not one for buffets but I've never seen customer linger around a hot buffet waiting for food. They always seemed to be out of most things. Even white rice! Really? Plain white rice? Anywho, I gave it 3 stars because the service was very good and the price was $11! My favorite restaurant in Regina. I eat the lunch buffet on a regular basis and it's always amazing. My favorite lunch buffet items are the tofu pad thai, larb moo (spicy pork salad) with some Thai chili sauce on top, and any of their curries, although I prefer the ones with pineapple in them just for the added sweetness. For $10, I have a hard time understanding why anyone would bother to eat lunch at Thai Express (which is just a few blocks away in the Cornwall Center food court) when Siam is literally just down the street. Whenever I order from their supper menu I get the panaeng beef, either hot or Thai hot depending on what I feel like. I find that while the consistency isn't there (sometimes it is made better than other times) it is never anything less than superb. I hope this place sticks around for a long, long time. read more

This is not the most consistent restaurant over the dozen times I've been there in the past year. Price is really reasonable for the amount of food you get. During their lunch service, they have a buffet that I personally didn't like but my colleagues love it. On their dinner service, I've tried the shrimp cakes, the corn cakes (10 pieces are way too much for just 1 person), the larb sticks, the garlic chicken which is my usual order, green curry chicken, the fried chicken and fried rice which used to be my usual order, and the pineapple fried rice served in a pineapple (that can easily feed 2 people). This is one of the best Thai restaurants I have ever been to outside of Thailand! The menu is authentic and l you can unusual options which I have never seen outside of Thailand. The service is good and very friendly! The negative reviews I cannot understand and the person which was missing chopsticks: Sorry to disappoint you, but Thais don't use chopsticks! During a local project engagement I have eaten here 10+ times and the food was always good! Just be careful how spicy you are ordering the food! They are measuring in Thai levels and that doesn't equal to levels North Americans are used to. So order mild and your stomach will be alright! read more

no offense to the friendly (albeit english deficient) staff, but this is one of the worst thai places i've eaten at on my thai journey across north america. pad see ew + thai iced tea, simple right? the iced tea was tiny, had way too much powder, and was almost gross enough that i threw it out. the noodles were limp and very small, the dish was dominated by gigantic chunks of broccoli and carrots, both of which were too hard/large. it was as if they didn't know whether or not they wanted them to be fresh or steamed/cooked, and had a weird consistency outside and inside. the chicken was full of tendons, and some of them were also overcooked/falling apart. overall the restaurant itself was tiny and not so private, and the food not so great. my analysis right now has probably been that thai food gets worse the further east you go, i'm assuming once you get to the coast again it'll be great once more! read more

I went with my family to try out their lunch buffet, based on their lunch buffet, it was mediocre, in fact it is BAD! I have never been to a lunch buffet that only have a few buffet item and constantly runs out. Their red ruby dessert is a joke. It was highly recommended by a thai friend and we so looked forward to trying but was greatly disappointed. The buffet dishes, not one taste authentic thai... loaded with salt and msg to deter diners from getting second helping. Although the buffet cost only $10. I would rather dine in subway or a&w anyday. I believe their a la carte menu might be better... but what a shame, why bother running a buffet when u do not want diners to eat more and cook horribly and load it with salt & msg. read more

Located in downtown Regina this small Thai place has a small outdoor patio and a few tables inside. Along the back is a small bar and behind that the kitchen. Decorated in muted tones with dim mood lighting the place wants to be a date night type place. The menu featured lots of Thai dishes including dishes I had never tried. I was intrigued by the menu because Thai vegetable dishes out west usually feature spinach which you never see in Ontario, which is usually eggplant. I worked in Regina for a short time, and the food within the vicinity of downdown was generally very lacking in both flavor and value. After checking put all the other reviews, I wanted to play it safe so I went with the shrimp pad thai. Something simple, traditional, and a staple in all thai restaurants. It was very tasty but extremely spicy (because I ordered hot rather than mild). Even though my friends ordered mild, they still thought it was spicy. It came with 5 shrimps which were moderately sized and cooked well. My boyfriend ordered corn fritters to share-it came with plum sauce (definitely from a bottle) and it tasted amazing. They were crunchy yet softy and not too hot when they arrived. It came with 10 on the plate for $7.95 and it was quite filling for an appetizer split between two people. The pad sieew dishes tasted charred and the noodles stuck together. It tasted okay but it couldve been better. Overall, a good experience. My fiancée and I tried Siam tonight for the first time. He had the pineapple fried rice, which he said was the most flavourful thing he's ever eaten. I had the shrimp pad Thai which was quite good, but not the best I've had. We had a golden purse appetizer which was also good. However my fiancée ordered the Thai lemon iced tea which was way too strong, we needed to add quite a bit of water to dilute it to drink it. Would definitely go back. read more
