Great spot in Downtown Regina in deepest darkest Saskatchewan. I was looking for Indian like you get in the UK, and found it. Sheek Kebab appetizer, Chicken Madras and Butter Naan, all of which were top class. Kebab was perfectly seasoned as well as a balanced spice blend and juicy. The Madras while slightly sweeter than I like and needed a little more pepper, was still an excellent dish. Naan to die for. Well stocked bar, two Indian beer choices and a handful of awards. Visited this restaurant while on a business trip to Regina. Don't be fooled on the exterior of this restaurant, it looks like a hole in wall with its steel door sitting next to a tattoo parlour. Amazing Indian food, I was here on a Wednesday evening and the restaurant was packed. All the tables were full, the interior was very nice and elegant. Aromas of Indian spices filled the restaurant, this was an indication of the dishes to come. I had the a mango lassi, tandoori chicken, butter chicken with rice, butter naan and galub jamun. Mango lassi was nice and thick, I been to places where the mango lassi was watered down this wasn't the case. Tandoori chicken was a bit spicy for me but nevertheless very flavorful. Butter chicken was rich and creamy. Butter naan was freshly made from the oven. The galub jamun had a hint of ginger in it and melted in your mouth. First time in Regina and saw this restaurant close to my hotel (it was -30!) on Yelp! Someone from the Delta hotel re-affirmed this was a definite goto for great Indian food. The outside is a bit underwhelming and very much fits into the "hole in the wall" category of restaurants. They could do with updating their sign, but perhaps therein lies the charm. But once inside I was rewarded with a great cozy atmosphere. It was quite busy, but the wait staff were very friendly and provided great service. Of course the food was the real test. I was not disappointed. We had a selection of curries with rice and Naan. Quality was fantastic, and service was prompt. There is something nice about eating spicy food and drinking cold beer when it is -30 outside. Will definitely be back. read more

Colour me impressed! I have eaten at Indian restaurants all over the world and this is one of the best. Everything we ordered was amazing and they gave us a free appetizer as well. The worst thing was not being able to finish everything on the table. The service was polite and friendly, the interior was well decorated. If I had to find a negative it would be that it is located on the corner of a busy road but once I stepped in the door I forgot about that and the traffic noise was not noticeable. Overall best Indian restaurant in Regina in terms of food quality, decor, customer service and cleanliness. The aroma of the dishes and complex taste of their dishes is second to none. Great food. Been here twice - once for supper and once for lunch. Wasn't very busy for either encounters so got a seat right away and service was quick. Had the chicken vindaloo based on others' reviews and it did not disappoint. Had a lunch special the other time. There is definitely a spice to the food and since I love spicy this makes my mouth go: Yay! 5 STARS!! in any city in any country (I'm from San Francisco and travel all over the US and internationally) This is quite literally the best Indian food I've ever had. We tried - Tiger shrimp - Samosa - Curry Lamb - Masala Chicken - Garlic Naan and while standard dishes, had spices and flavors I've never experienced. The layers of spice and heat all blended together for a life changing experience. It seriously changes how I view Indian food. Service was exceptional and be warned but not deterred, when we were there in July 2018, there was no sign on the restaurant. Caraway Grill hides in a nondescript gray building, just a few blocks northeast of downtown Regina. Entering one is plunged into and interior decor beyond expectation and striking, as if a high end restaurant. My server was also beyond expectation as well. It seemed as if we became friends though nothing was said beyond the ordinary. The other staff were attentive and enthusiastic and importantly made sure my water glass stayed full. The spice was strong and delicate at the same time. I cannot recall a better experience in an Indian restaurant. Highly recommended! read more

I heard about this restaurant so much from friends to the only place my husband could find some decent Indian food in Regina, so that goes to say that I went in with some High Expectations and they did not Disappoint ... I actually really enjoyed the food here. Their Chicken Briyani was really flavorful, the portion a good size even in their Express Lunch Menu. It had good distribution of spices from the rice to the chicken itself. It was better than any chicken briyani I have tasted in Restaurants outside of India. Their Kofta was average, koftas usually are made from Long Gourd and have more creaminess in their curry. This was a aloo patty in a standard restaurant Indian Tomato sauce. I would say it was bad but it wasnt anything exceptionally good. The service of the restaurant was extremely friendly, kudos to this one Employee, everyone calls him Chhotu. Thus to conclude, if you are looking for a night with good Indian Food, Caraway Grill, is the way to go. read more

Hit this place 3 days in a row. Everything I have tried has been excellent. First I tried the Papadum. Hot, crispy and great flavor. The mint chutney has just the right amount of spice. For mains I have had the Prawn Masala, the Chicken Korma and the Spinach paneer. All were excellent, large servings, and the saffron rice was perfectly cooked, and again a very large helping. Staff are very friendly and service is super quick, even when it's busy. Inside it's clean and new and inviting. Just can't say enough about this place. We had dinner at Caraway Grill because of all the great reviews on Yelp and we were not disappointed. It was good to arrive early on a weekday since the dining room is reasonable small and every table was full by the time we finished dinner. The service is very polite and attentive. Plates were cleared as soon as we finished the last bite. We picked the Caraway Special since it allowed us to put together a starter, an "all day favourite" and two mains with saffron rice and two servings of naan. It was a very good start with the Tiger Shrimp starter and the mixed vegetable pakora. We chose butter chicken and lamb shanks as our mains. I'm not able to say that I'm a greatly-travelled person or that I am deeply knowledgeable about many ethnic cuisines, but I do know that the Caraway is my favourite Indian restaurant in the city. I've only been there a handful of times since they've opened, but the food has been outstanding each time I've visited. The butter chicken in particular is possibly the best in the city. The only two downsides would be the location and occasionally slow/inconsistent service. There's nothing that can be done about the location (not a great area, especially due to the lack of well-lit nearby parking), but the service has sometimes been on the slow side (though not the last few times I've been there). But if you're okay with waiting a bit (or being a bit crowded inside their smaller-sized seating area), the food is well worth it. And if you don't want to eat in, take-out is always an option. read more
