After three weeks in Europe (mostly Spain), we were craving something international, so we went…read morewith this Chinese restaurant. The menu was quite large, and all the food surpassed our expectations. Yummy shrimp dumplings, and a flavorful (if not very spicy) Ma Po Tofu was a hit, as was the pineapple chicken. The service was friendly and all quite affordable. Highly recommend.

Authentic Chinese food. Extensive Menu…read more Great Service. Affordable. Great Find! Enough said. 5 stars! Hot & Spicy Soup: thick, flavorful, full of meat veggies & swirled egg. I ordered it muy picante. Con Sabor! Loved it so much! Fried Rice Macao: with shrimp, beef, octopus, and veggies. Not greasy and flavorful. Vermicelli with 3 delicacies: The thin glass noodles need to be eaten quickly as they get mushy and soggy quickly. Lightly seasoned and couldn't stop eating it. Delicious! Beef in Oyster sauce: a little too salty but nice beef slices with squash and onions. Very similar to a mongolian beef style! Sweet & Sour Pork: Fried light and crunchy and topped with diced onions and pineapples. Cooked well but the sauce could have been sweeter for my liking. Our server Laura was great. They deliver but not during peak hours which is understandable. We Asians need a break from delicious tapas. Macao will be one of those places where we recharge to satisfy those cravings =) We will be back!

I got sick after landed in BCN so only ordered vegetables porridge and ginseng/chicken soup. They were right on. Light dishes but very fresh and good. The decorations inside are quite interesting as well. Old school Shanghai back in the 50s, and nice music. Highly recommended!

Decorated beautifully on the inside, Shanghai 1930 has a ton of heritage! I came here with a group,…read morethe washrooms were clean, with two or three stalls inside. In the front, there are large cymbals with notes located on the cymbal (however, due to the different sizes, they are not within the same octave. The floor is made with large cobblestones. After talking to the boss, I found out that these tiles were here ever since 1930 in Barcelona and is beautifully kept). They own many turtles inside a large tub. These turtles are super hungry for food! If you're a big fan of TVB, you will find photos of TVB's "the three musketeers" with the owner of this shop located in a frame at this restaurant. Around the store, there are many antique paintings, briefcases, etc. It turned out that the briefcases were the luggages that the owner used when he immigrated to Spain. The soup was delicious and the food adhered to Hong Kong tasting food. The greens were not overly oily and the rice was actually white rice - I expected harsher textured rice, but it was really similar to the ones I eat back in Markham. The beef and chicken weren't overly cooked. I suppose, if I were to rate this place back In Markham, I would give it a 3 star because it was really average, but the fact that I found it in Barcelona?! BONUS star, and learning about the heritage and background behind this place? Another bonus star!! This was my favourite Chinese restaurants out of the four restaurants I had in Portugal and Spain.
