I've been going to Dr. Hwang for about three years now. I have to say he is the best Internest I…read morehave ever had. He is kind and empathetic and immediately puts you at ease. You can usually get a pretty fast appointment. He also gives you as much time as you need. He's one of the few physicians I've encountered who's not an a clock. He's also incredibly conscientious and attentive. I had some anomolous blood test results a year ago. The cause was not immediately apparent. But he worked through the differential diagnoses and referred me to an world-class hematologist, who concluded that the anomolies were benign. Huge relief. When he makes referrals, the docs are invariably tops in their fields. And best of all, he responds to email. Heaven! His office staff is generally attentive and efficient. They are on a very good EMR system that has an excellent patient interface (myhealthonline). But it still has limitations in terms of sharing records with other providers, referrals to out-of-network docs, etc. Where that happens, you're back to faxing things back and forth which drives me crazy. Who has a fax machine anymore? It's like asking patients to use carbon paper and white-out. Net net, Hwang is tops. I'm frankly surprised he's still taking new patients. I'd have assumed he'd be full up by now.

Horrible experience. He was not personable and his attitude is not one of a doctor that you would…read morewant. Would not go back to him.

I cant stress enough how awesome is Dr Wong…read more He is: - A top notch doctor who cares about his patients. I've been seeing him for 12+ years and no disappointment. He had me come in today to see him for possible flu so I need not to go to ER. In addition to my treatment Tamiflu, he called in RX for my hubby too. - He would make sure your lab results are read, and share with you. - If you leave a message, you'll know he will call you back. It just happens to be at 6-7pm (clinic closes at 5 and he's doing his follow up til late) - Beside the fact that he gets to know you and your family, he explains to you the lab test you'll be taking; what are we looking for as results, and when you should return. Patient centered care at it's best. I don't walk out the office confused. - Yes he takes time to get to you, but it's because he spends time with patients. Not one of those 8 min, you're done type doctor visit. - He does his own vitals. Not his M.A. or nurses. Even if they did, he rechecks it. What not to love about this doctor. Get to know him, and let him get to know you.

My mother saw Dr. Wong for low back pain with sciatica. She left the appointment feeling dismissed…read moreand disrespected. According to her, Dr. Wong told her she was being "annoying" and advised her to find another primary care physician rather than return to his practice. My mother is not someone who complains easily, so hearing about her experience was especially disappointing. As a primary care provider myself, I believe patients deserve to be treated with respect and compassion, even when visits are challenging. Based on my mother's experience, I would not recommend Dr. Wong as a primary care physician.

I've worked in medical offices as an administrator, and know how difficult it is to provide…read morepatient, personalized care when you're tied to a tight appointment schedule, but Dr. Lee and his staff have given my husband and me attentive and thoughtful care for the past 5 years. Dr. Lee always thoroughly reads through our charts, never makes us feel rushed, and even when we come in with "not a whole lot to report", he asks relevant lifestyle questions to assure that there's nothing else he might do to assist us in preventative care or improved overall health. He always calls us to give us test results-- the mundane and the newsworthy. Dr. Lee clearly takes pride in caring for his patience and considers internal medicine as a serious discipline which much be constantly studied and contemplated. He is the physician you want on your team if a serious diagnosis is to be tackled and treatment options considered. He has a significant senior population of patients but I love that as a patient in middle-age, he discusses preventative care with me to maintain my good health. Despite being out of the area, we continue to return him for our annual exams.

My old physician retired so I found Dr. Damon Lee in Daly City, CA, and had scheduled my first…read morevisit. I asked Datalink ITS (record keeper company) to send my complete medical history to his office. The form I filled out to authorize the release asked me for Dr. Damon Lee's office address and fax #. The form did not specify how they will deliver my records. I tried to get Dr. Lee's office email but the receptionist roared, "We don't have an email here!" then hang up. Nevertheless, they ended up faxing a 150 page to his office. His office called me hysterical about the whole thing yelling at me to make it stop. Frantically, I called Datalink and left a message, and also emailed them. Moreover, Dr. Damon Lee's office called me back and continuously yelled at me because Datalink could not stop the fax. I was also informed after being scolded that because of this, Dr. Damon Lee is refusing to see me. I was stunned and distressed with their decision not to see me because of this error made by a third party. I explained that this should not affect their decision to see a patient. I reported this incident to the Medical Board of California because I believe a physician should not refuse to see patients for inconsequential incidents such as this. The lady at the front desk is extremely vicious (I am using a nice word here). I can't even express in words how she screamed at me and didn't even let me speak. I managed to ask her though if she had seen the reviews about her on yelp and she simply said she didn't care and slammed the phone on me!

She provides very intelligent and careful consideration for my Mom's complex ailments and networks well with other physicians. She is diligent with follow-up care and therapy and rehab and makes sure my Mom gets needed medical equipment at home. She helps navigate through the difficulty of communicating the side-effects of medications while mentoring toward more holistic remedies. When blood tests have raised concerns, she immediately notified us and prescribed remedies. Her Medical Assistants Angelica and Selina are well-trained, very courteous, professional and accurate, integrating the communication of complicated appointments, pharmaceutic, and follow-up data via phone, fax, e-mail, and in person. We thank God for Dr. Kini and her Staff for helping my Mother's senior years to be a time of healing. -Bud N.

She has her office assistant ask all adult women patients if they "want" a Pap smear. Such a terrible exam should only be inflicted on women if it is truly needed, not because women have been brainwashed into thinking they need it all the time. Dr. Kini should not perform Pap smears until she learns how to perform them without hurting the patient. Like many of her patients, I thought she was fine to begin with, but then I saw and experienced her uncaring side.
