In all my years visiting Pensacola, I've never tried this place until today. I was concerned it was average, but let me tell you, there's nothing average about this place! They have bar seating, tabletop and outdoor space for eating. Chelsea gave wonderful service and suggestions. I took her advice and tried the Boom Boom shrimp tacos. Wow! Absolutely delicious! 2 tacos with a semi spicy kick, fries and coleslaw. Everything was fantastic! They serve the tacos with a cucumber ranch that was perfect for dipping my fries (I didn't want to put it on my tacos because they were perfect with the sauce they were cooked in). SB also has great sweet tea. I'm so glad I finally tried this place. $15.14 without tip. It was the least expensive meal of my trip, but the best! That's a good value! I will return on my next visit. Great staple after a day at the beach or if you are looking for a quick bite with the family. Other restaurants on beach have better views, no doubt, and they have their on specialties and charm, but also an 1 hour wait. However, the southern style seafood at the Shrimp Basket is just as good at those $$$ tourists restaurants here on Pcola Beach. If you are looking for fried seafood they have it all, but if you are like me, over 50, they also have grilled and blackened fish at a reasonable cost. Service is quick and very pleasant. Also, the hard working waitresses with their southern accent bring a little extra charm to this spot.
