Use extreme caution in working with Shred It. There Fraudulent practices of giving you a price a price which you agree to and then bill you for 3 times that amount. Very disappointed in their servicing of our account. We have been a long time customer and recently the service has been poor. I understand we are in challenging times but dealing with customer service has been a nightmare. They tell you what you want to hear, but then no follow through. We have been double charged, no show for service and trying to get our money back or get a service rescheduled has not happen. I only have so much patience. Not sure I can do this anymore. My company has used Shred-It for at least the last couple of years. The last time I saw one of their trucks come to empty our boxes of documents to be shredded was last year. Now several of our boxes are full and Shred-It will not honor the pick-up schedule they set with us. Being an IT organization, my company tries to be as paperless as possible. However, there are a fair amount of documents that need to be shredded. By my estimation, Shred-It should have visited several times since the last time they were here. Some of these boxes are so full that anybody could reach through the small opening to pull documents out again. My company is in the process of selecting a new secure document shredding service that can be trusted. I recommend that everybody avoid Shred-It. TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE in Southeast Michigan!!!! From the top down including Ken Mazza (District Gen Mgr), Tim Fiebig (Sales Rep) and Gary Lawson (Detroit area Operations Mgr) to Ariel Simpson (Sales & Office Coord) and Elicia Henderson (unsure of her position) they do not fulfill promises in their Sales Pitch, their Literature, contract or even verbal commitments. Won't respond or follow through to phone or email requests unless submitted many time - feels like you are chasing them to do their job. Drivers don't leave Certificates of Destruction when printers are inop (often), drivers show up on the wrong day, written communication shows up days after a change in service, etc. We provided a credit card for billing and they send us late payment notices because they forgot to process the payment. WTH?!?!? Overall just lousy miserable treatment of their customers. Even at the Corporate level, each time I reach someone who promises help resolve these issues the person is gone by the next phone call. Planning to change companies soon. Enough is enough already - feel like I am managing their employees and doing their work. Have no clue how Shred It stays in business and retain customers if all their accounts are mishandled so severely. read more

CAUTION! Don't rely on these people. I had a contract for a truck to come to my office for 2 hours so I could offer shredding services to my clients. I promoted it and had people drive 25-30 miles to bring their items to shred but Shred It didn't show up. Every phone number I could find led to a call center, which was closed as it was a Saturday. I reached out that Monday and got the run-around, and no one has contacted me (3 days later). I wish I'd have seen all the negative reviews before I signed the contact and had expectations. read more

Awful company! Shred-It does not comply with their contract or pick up schedule. We are forced to call them multiple times monthly due to the fact they cannot give any answers. Their customer service is useless. Their invoices are incorrect, which gives us the task of having to double check their work. Our shred container is over filled leaving documents unsecure for anyone to walk by and take. We pay for a service that is not getting done by a company that is not in compliance with THEIR contract. The guys that pick up are awesome but the management is terrible. I tried unsuccessfully dealing with the local & corporate office regarding billing and finally cancelled only to be continually billed for service I have not received. For 3 months now I have been trying to get them to cancel our account and stop auto bill. I haven't had their bins since December 2016. My office has been using Shed-It for a while and have had nothing but problems from the start. No one can ever help you when you call. They always say they will call back and never do. Their invoices are never right and it takes forever to get them to honor our contract with them. We do not have time to call them every month for the same thing. It is a waste of our time and very frustrating. Not to mention that pick ups are NEVER on time. Because of this we are canceling them and will be going with one of their competitors. If you are thinking of using them, save yourself a head ache and go some where else. read more

HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE. I used this company in 2014 and the service was ok. They did pick-up on the dates we agreed too but the pick-up times they did not. I used them again in 2016 for two weeks and service has gotten worse. On our first pick-up date, they went to the wrong location. They never showed up on our second pick-up date and I was not notified of any changes to the schedule we had contracted them for. I called and talked with the Operations manager. He was apologetic at first and didn't know why the pick-up was cancelled. I followed-up a few days later and the Operations manager was very short with me and had obviously not looked into why my pick-up was cancelled. I'm still waiting for confirmation of my third pick-up date and have gotten several other people involved. None of which are responding to my inquiries....all I want is for them to confirm the pick-up and give me an ETA. I will NEVER give them my business again. read more
