This place is a constant comeback for me whenever I am in Munich. This place has recently expanded their seating area to allow about 3 extra table to fit into their tight location. The seating has never been an issue here as people usually either take out or really move on a come and go basis. Worst case you can always check back after 10 minutes and go browse at the local stores.
The food itself is great. The meals are served hot but not scalding and the miso soup is the best I've had out of any Japanese restaurant I've visited. It's rich with flavor and contains a high amount of added bites. The meal I always order, which is the Yakitori Don, is teriyaki chicken on a pillow of lettuce and rice. This dish is my personal favorite as it gives you a fantastic crunch from the lettuce, a great flavor from the teriyaki seeps down into the lettuce and rice, and a soft, yet noticeable rice in the bottom of the bowl to top off your hunger when you finish.
I also decided to get the Classic Tempura roll. This meal wasn't the absolute best tempura I've had, but it doesn't dent my rating. The tempura wasn't as crisp as I would've liked and the roll was more like a Futo Roll than a classic Tempura roll. I don't mind futo rolls, but it may be unexpected to those who don't know.
Service is great as usual, the manager or owner is always on the premises and the waiting staff have good manners. In the past I've seen serving staff here get orders wrong, including mine, but I don't see them around anymore so I'm assuming they're no longer employed here, which is good. The food pricing is quite low for the surrounding establishments.
All in all it's a great place. Fantastic for up to a group of 4, anything bigger could get uncomfortable or partitioned to different sections. The ambience is a typical mall with your faint beeps of store security systems and quiet baby cries muffled by chatter and typical humanity sounds. read more
