Fries, salad, soup!

As a gluten free person I mostly get: no sorry! What else would you like to order?" But from this place they looked and took time to figure out what I could eat. The food is excellent and the service exceptional. This place could single-handedly support the mall with its fine quality of food. Definitely will be back. They went over the top for me!

Gyro Platter with Onion Rings & Greek Salad

Shomars has always had delicious food and service. No matter the location, the food has always been consistent. They have some of the best Flounder & Calabash around! The Pita burgers are a family favorite also. My husband usually gets the Gyro and says it's one of the best he's had! My Daughter loves their Mac-n-cheese with chicken and bacon! All in all Shomars is a great place to eat! Reasonable prices and delicious food every time!

I kinda felt like I was back in either Santorini or Mykonos Greece without the long flight LOL…read more We've been twice now, and it's officially earned a spot in our regular rotation. The interior is beautiful, but the real star is the food (and our waitress, who we were fortunate enough to get both times--she's fantastic!). Plumb forgot her name twice now The portions are so generous that the hubby and I have started a "share everything" policy just so we can sample more of the menu. The Lamb Chops are sizeable, perfectly seasoned, and actually taste like they would in Greece. The Hummus. It's rustic, flavorful, and took me straight back to the streets of Greece. Pair that with their juicy Greek Meatballs, and you're in possible food coma! They also boast an all-Greek wine list, which is a nice authentic touch. While they have a great patio, it's been a bit too chilly for us lately, but the indoor vibe is just as lovely. Authentic flavor, great service, and a wine list that actually knows its grapes--definitely a 5-star gem in the Queen City!

It is centrally located with other business around within walking distance. There are paid and affordable street parking spots nearby.  The menu offers a good variety of options. In addition to the regular menu, they offer a lunch menu with two combo options. That is exactly what I went for today. I got the Spicy Dip & Pita and the Chicken Pita. I also got an Arold Palmer to drink. Everything was delicious! I mean, it was really delicious.    The price was pretty affordable, the service was professional and friendly, all common areas, including the restrooms, were clean. Overall, 100% recommended and can't wait to come back!

I went for a birthday meal and we enjoyed the experience all around. The food is fresh and flavorful with real Mediterranean influence you can tell the recipes are rooted in tradition and made with care. The menu has a great variety of Turkish, Greek, and Italian influenced dishes, from kebabs and mezze to hearty entrees, and everything we tried was seasoned well and beautifully presented. Service was lovely from start to finish. The staff was welcoming and attentive without being overbearing, and the atmosphere feels comfortable and a bit elevated at the same time. It's a cozy place that works for a casual lunch, date night, or business dinner. One of the best parts of dining here is that Gastonia gets Mediterranean cuisine done well without having to go into Charlotte. Portions are generous and worth the price, and the wine and drink options pair nicely with the menu. Reservations are a good idea on weekend nights because it does get busy. I'd definitely return to try even more from the menu.

This dish feeds two but I would definitely get a few appetizers to make it work. The rice and fries that come with this dish is very small, so keep that in mind. We also ordered the Beef Pide and it was also amazing! I always love a Turkish Pide. This dish is amazing and serves as a good appetizer for sharing. All the food is halal, so that is great as well! The ambiance is nice, slightly elevated, pretty quiet and cozy. I love the aesthetic and I love that it's not too noisy. Our waiter was friendly and comical and made our experience fun. There is plenty if parking behind the restaurant so no worries there either. Will definitely check this place out again and will bring friends!

On our last night the area visiting family, we were supposed to have dinner with long (l-o-n-g)…read moretime friends but they had to cancel at the last hour. So we checked locally and discovered a new (to us) Greek restaurant. My wife and I arrived about 7:00 PM on Thursday, after having made an online reservation. When we arrived, plenty of open booths , so we were seated and brought menus. Any new Greek place we must try their Spanakopita so we ordered one to split. We also decided to split a Greek Salad and a Moussaka. Our Spanakopita came quickly. We divided it and tested. Hmm. Not bad, but not what we're used to having. We actually prefer more filo than here. Her salad came and we divided part of it also. It was crisp, cold and yummy. After a bit my Moussaka arrived. To our surprise it came in a custard bowl and looked like a Shepherd's Pie. Unusual since we've always been served Moussaka in squares like a Lasagna. It was fantastic, a perfect blend of meat and vegetables. Of course next we needed dessert. My wife couldn't decide on the Baklava Cheesecake or the Caramel Cheesecake, so she got both! I liked the Caramel but so sweet I had to drink water with it. Good food, nice ambiance. Service a bit slow and told us they did have a military discount, but somehow forgot to use it. There appeared to be huge dividing panel that maybe closed off larger room for special events.

My Husband got his lamb chops medium well and they were perfect too. I savored every bite of it! The steamed broccoli was also seasoned very well and they were not too soft and not too hard either. The Baklava sundae was also a very good amount. Me and someone else shared the dessert and it was fulfilling. (Not pictured) The coffee, cheesecake, hummus dip and more entrees ordered. - The coffee was very strong and bitter. - The cheesecake was really good and all the different types & flavors of the drizzle was good too. - The hummus and pita bread was very good as well! Great taste to the hummus! The ambiance was calm, modern, yet elegant and classy! The service was also top notch. I do like that you have to reserve, because that makes the experience more personal and I loved that part about it! We went to the restaurant after our church service on Sunday around 2PM and when we were leaving, there was just one other party there, that had a reservation but it was so quiet, you would not have been able to tell. If you like something quiet and intimate, this is the place! The restrooms were very clean and beautiful as well. It did not smell very well so possibly some air fresheners would be helpful, but overall, the good outweighed the bad. Everything will never be perfect but this place was a definite 5/5 rating!
