Even though they forgot my extra tartar sauce, the sandwich was so good it still hit the craving perfectly. Service: Staff was friendly and moved pretty quickly, even with a steady crowd. My order was ready on time and packaged well--just missing that one little sauce, but hey, nobody's perfect. Ambience: The place has a casual, welcoming vibe. Clean tables, good lighting, and that classic bustle that lets you know people come here for a reason. It's nothing fancy, but it feels like the kind of spot you can always rely on for a solid bite. So I sent a review in about my experience at this showmars on Saturday night. And as you can see no response from the restaurant no apologies or nothing. People were coming into a new years and must hold these restaurants accountable for their actions when a restaurant doesn't have the common decency to apologize for their shortcomings then that tells you they could care less about you. This is the space we're in now. So I would say read the reviews and enter at your own risk. But I can't patronize a place that can't acknowledge their mistake and want to do better. I don't want a free meal or nothing just acknowledging your mistake and giving customers confidence that your going to hopefully fix the problem is all a paying customer wants. read more

It has been a couple of years since I have been to Showmar's, and we were in the area again so figured we would give them another shot. Sadly, it was nowhere near as good as it was the last time we went. The menu appears to have been reduced in the items that they serve, and this location had some staffing issues. The staff were distracted from what they should have been doing, and that caused a lot of issues with our order. They completely forgot a salad that was supposed to be in our order, forgot all of the condiments that should have come with the order, and they simply did not care. The chances of us returning have been reduced to effectively zero. There are other places in the Charlotte area to go to that will serve us a lot better. read more

I feel like I owe this show mars location this review, I haven't wrote on yelp in quite some time... however, I recently bought a house within the near vicinity. It's probably the closest bite to eat I can drive too. They are reliable, they use quality ingredients, and have a pretty efficient and respectful staff. I have tried something new on the menu every time and never gotten anything cold and it's always been good, the menu isn't too exciting but it's covers a lot of bases. I would be okay giving this Showmars location my money for years to come, it's super duper dank and I feel like I get my moneys worth. read more

The food was good. But the location is terrible. We were staying at a nearby hotel and walked over. A few yards away, we noticed a guy in the parking lot looking into car windows and he looked very scary in a totally drugged out way. I didn't want to go in because by the time we neared the only entrance (fire code violation, I believe), he had moved over and was staring into the window near the door "adjusting" his clothing. When we walked in, the young man at the register asked if we were going to dine in and I said that we weren't comfortable eating there with the guy staring into the window. So, the employee went to get the manager who did nothing. A few moments later, the drug-addled guy walked into the restaurant and sat on top of one of the tables. Still, no employee did a thing. Long story short, if you go here, the food is good but be very wary of the homeless druggies around. (And I say druggies plural because there was another guy in the parking lot urinating into a can and was not at all bashful about it and he looked drugged out of his mind). Safety of customers and employees should be most important to management but it obviously is not.... read more

Close to the airport, the Hampton and holiday inn (by car), this is a great lunch place. It's also one of the few restaurants in the area. Ordering at the counter was fast and efficient. You pay; they give you a number which you place in the table and a server delivers your food. It took maybe five minutes and they were busy,busy. Gyro salad was good. Huge served in a taco shell. And sodas germs free refills. Several people came by to make we didn't need anything else. Would definitely come back. Reasonable prices too. read more

The front-of-house staff is the real problem, they seem perpetually confused and disorganized as if entering orders, payments, and bagging up food is rocket surgery. The restaurant service staff needs more training on how to provide appropriate customer service and how to handle prepared food items. The counter staff and the wait staff routinely ignore waiting customers and have personal conversations laced with profanity in front of customers. Some customers were waiting to have their orders taken for 5-7 minutes while counter staff engaged in personal fraternization. In addition, the service staff of the restaurant do not wash their hands or sanitize prior to service. I witnessed three afternoon/evening shift workers enter from the exterior of the restaurant and begin the counter services of preparing drinks, packaging meals, and serving meals without any form of sanitation, not even hand sanitizer. This occurred in the presence of the shift manager. Finally, the staff is so engaged in gossip and personal issues that they forget to serve or present packaged food items to the waiting customers. Prepared meals and packaged plates lay on the counter between 5-20 minutes before being given to some customers. I personally was not presented with my meal to go for 20 minutes. The Greek salad that I ordered with a side item of olives and the fish sandwich rested on the counter for 20 minutes before the waitress ventured to serve them to me. I refused the meal and requested a refund. The manager inquired as to why I should want a refund when my meal was ready, and the waitress intervened to explain that the meal had rested on the counter "too long." Too long was certainly correct, as this meal could have resulted in food poisoning. My refund was begrudgingly given. Thank you, Showmars, for greatly disappointing service and for near digestive disaster. read more

Ordered and paid for food online. Arrived at confirmed time for car-side pick-up. Called as required to bring out order (due to covid). Was asked to come inside for pickup. Advised 2 small children in car with no mask. Staff was agitated, but agreed to bring food out. After 15 min, no food. Tried to call back 7 times. 1st time pickup and hang back up. Other 6 times, phone off hook. Gathered up kids to go inside and was told order lost. Very disrespectful staff. Finally got food. In all, wait time was over 30 min. Quality of food terrible and cold. Tried to contact manager. Was told manager not in. Refused to provide mgr contact info. Found this Showmars convenient to the airport when we dropped of family flying out. Food was fresh, service was quick & even the servers came back to check on us. Place has been recently refurbished. This 5 star rating is for the gyro sandwich! The place is a dated, standard old Shoney's type place. But the gyro!! Spot on, top 5 I've had anywhere in the country. Ample tasty serving, hot with very good tzatziki sauce. I am a man who loves his gyro (Parthenon in Madison, WI is the best), and can promise you won't be disappointed. That should've been a clear indication for me to not proceed with the order, but I did. Had the order picked up by a friend who was coming over, opened it and lawwwwd. Nearly a Charlotte institution, this is some of the best "fast food" around. George Cushell, the owner of Showmars has been a fixture in the Charlotte restaurant scene for longer than most Yelp readers have been alive. He has gotten the concept of good food fast right with the Showmars chain. This is not fine dining, or anything near it, but, it is good, food, served hot and fast with a smile at a reasonable price. My faves are the original pita burger, all the seafood plates, the fish sandwich and the onion rings. The baklava is as good as my own homemade version. All the fried offerings are cooked to perfection and come to the table too hot to eat. I also like the Greek dishes and the Gyro, tenderloin tips and the souvlaki somoras are as good as any I have had anywhere. These restaurants seem to be everywhere and I assume they are all about the same, but the Little Rock location is my "go to" location for fast, hot, fried fish, burgers or Greek treats. I can't see that changing anytime in the near future. read more

First, they got my order totally wrong. Very slow night only 4 people there. Then when They arrived with my order, again wrong. They substituted pinto beans for french fries. The waitress actual asked me if I was ok with pinto beans or did she need to exchange for fries. Duh! Worst of all the food sucked. All except the fries which were just ok.
