There are lots of places to grab a bite or drink -- coffee, smoothies, yogurt, mexican food, argentine food, subs, sushi and pizza (you can actually watch the show while eating pizza on their patio). They show feature movies on the weekend and during the week old tv shows, cartoons, and seasonal stuff. It runs from sundown until around 10 or 11pm every day of the year. It can be a little hard to find, but if you can locate LA Fitness or Old Spaghetti Factory, you're getting warmer. It's nestled between Pizza Nova and Ryan Bros Coffee. Lots of free parking. They've also hosted the annual San Marcos Student Film Festival 2 years running, which is usually in June, and again free to the public. The only reason for the lack of 5 stars is that it is COLD in the winter, and WET when its rainy ...not that there's a real solution to that, other than a blanket and an umbrella.... Expect kids running around, outdoor noise from cars and conversation, but its all part of the fun. Did I mention its all FREE?

There are three screens; playing different movies and plenty of parking spots. They are open Friday to Sunday for the drive in movies. They also occupy this space for swampmeet on certain days. Pro: lots of parking spots, bathroom for use, snack bar (cash only); friendly staff. Con: depends on the day and movie; it can get super packed, the entrance to purchase tickets can get long and extend to the streets; can be dangerous if no one pays attention. Bathroom is outdated, sometimes no hand soap or they run out of bathroom tissues or napkins. Other than that; such a great deal for new movie releases and in the comfort of your car. You can bring snacks, food etc; I always bring a pillow and blanked for extra comfort. Make sure to bring a radio if you don't want your car battery to die. I like this location more than the other La Costa location since it's the newest. I am surprised they don't let you order your concessions at the counter anymore. It's quicker than the in-seat service. Half way through the movie we decided to get the cookie trio, which were delicious. The cookies were served warm and are massive. It did take a bit to get the cookies. I'd say maybe 30 minutes. But all in all a comfortable movie theater experience. The movie was amazing and loved all the nostalgic moments!

I purchased handicap seats because my mother is handicap and so is my grandmother. We were rudely, I mean RUDELY asked to move away from handicap because they were missing seats and claimed that the 3 seats we had were for 2 wheel chairs seats, yet there was chairs, no space for two wheel chairs, nothing that states "wheelchair only", nothing that specified only certain types of handicap. I purchased the only 3 handicap seats that were next to each other and available at this location. When we first arrived a couple were sitting in the seats we expected to have. The couple had no idea where they were supposed to sit because they didn't even have tickets!! We watched them move 4 times!! We watched them get kicked out of people seats 4 times!! I, the adult who PAID for tickets, paid for handicap tickets was told that the seats I bought were not for my type of handicap. So not only was I not given the handicap seats I paid for and that were absolutely necessary, I was pushed farther away from the exit to walk down steps with both handicap ladies in the dark while the movie was playing. THEN, the food we had ordered before getting kicked out of our seats showed up late, the server never came back to take our full order, never checked up on us, even the food was delivered with no "can we get you anything else". The only time the awful server came back was to drop the bill 45 mins before the movie was even finished! Outside that we ordered the endless popcorn which we clearly couldn't get more of, we were never asked before the bill was dropped off if we needed anything else or how it was. I think it's pretty clear that we were discriminated against, treated terribly and the staff intentionally stopped serving us. It too bad the unprofessional manager sent his employees to do the talking instead of coming out and dealing with the situation as he/she should have. For the prices we pay to go here, this is absolutely disgusting and unprofessional behavior by this staff. I will be writing to corporate to inform them about this awful situation.

Since the Covid pandemic I haven't frequented going to a movie theater to watch movies. Also, because my movie watching experience is nice and in the comfort of my own place with a 85" tv, my own leather recliner and access to lots of streaming movies with a touch of a button. I recently rewatched Devil wears Prada part 1 and wanted to see part 2 and not have to wait for it to show on streaming because it will take a long while. The movie was very entertaining and if you haven't watched it, I suggest you rewatch part 1, because it has been 20 years since! The bathroom facilities were clean with everything touchless, but the hand soap dispensers were on the blink and perhaps need batteries. Staff were courteous and helpful and efficient. There was no long wait for anything I ordered. The Lot theater where I watched this movie was smaller than expected and the seats weren't situated optimally because a few rows ahead of mine, a viewer's head blocked some parts of the screen when he was sitting up and not reclined down. The leather seats were wide and spacious, reclining feature did recline pretty low but not flat 180. The call attendant button feature is great; it's table service: you can order food and drinks. The menu includes burgers, fries, pizza, popcorn, hotdogs. Drinks including FIJI bottled water, sodas and alcoholic beverages... all served during the movie is very convenient. The LOT is the closest movie theater to me and for the sake of convenience I would return and recommend it.

It's just a couple dollars more, but you'll have a more enjoyable experience. The seats are super comfy and I like the convenience of being able to order right from your seat. You can pay in the moment or keep the tab open. The staff taking orders can feel a bit rushed due to the high volume of orders, but everything still runs smoothly and the food comes out faster than expected. As for the food, it's okay. I've tried the fries, poke nachos, chicken strips, and popcorn. Dipping sauces are mid, but the BBQ is good. I'd still be open to trying other items, but I'm a little hesitant. They used to have sweet potato fries which were my faveee. Sad to see they took them off the menu. The charges add up quickly and to be honest the food doesn't stick out to me. I was expecting more from the poke nachos the wonton chips and flavor are good, but the ahi didn't taste very fresh or best quality. I've also had dinner at the restaurant before, but I can't recall the order. I just know I didn't love it. Coffee is good! I usually add a shot and the service at the coffee shop has always been friendly. The bathrooms have been a bit dirty most time I've gone. On the plus side, they validate parking up to 4 hours, which is really nice since street parking in the area can at times be a pain. All in all, worth checking out for the convenience, memorable experience, casual date night or family time.

(Author Andy Weir also wrote The Martian and Artemis, both of which I enjoyed.) There were a few theater options in the Carlsbad/Oceanside area, and Cinépolis Luxury Cinemas Paseo Real stood out for its fully reclining seats and in-theater dining. Reviews were decent, so we gave it a shot. Our party of four reserved seats for a weekday afternoon showing. If you can swing that timing, it's worth it. Tickets are cheaper and the theater is noticeably quieter. The seating was very comfortable, exactly what you'd hope for in a "luxury" theater. The venue itself felt a bit tired in spots, but still perfectly respectable. As for the movie, I enjoyed it. Ryan Gosling delivered a strong performance. Like most adaptations, it didn't quite live up to the book, but it was still very entertaining. Bottom line: Comfortable seating, a relaxed atmosphere, and a solid viewing experience. I'd be happy to come back.

I get my tickets via an application and then when I arrive I show it to the person in the box office/info area inside. They'll kindly tell you what auditorium it's in and where it's located. Easy peasy. I was slightly disappointed that I couldn't just order my popcorn in the concession area but rather had to use the order in your seat feature. On my last visit the previews weren't too long of a performance before the movie started just 13 minutes post the ticketed time. Even though I only wanted popcorn I curiously explored my options on the menu located on the rotating arm tables. Just push the glowing circle button for your attendant to take your order. I missed the very beginning of the movie because ordering in my seat slightly distracted me. I didn't even realize it wasn't another preview to another movie but rather the actual movie I came for. So for me it's a toss up between liking this feature and disliking it. The staffers were kind and had enjoyed my friends and my banter about it. We all had a good chuckle. Going on a Monday evening is nice since it's not as busy but also know that it's half the cost on a Tuesday evening. FYI. *It's also hit or miss on cleanliness but overall it seems better here than other venues by the same name. Also note: make sure you're heading to the right La Costa theater because there are two ~~ just in different centers. We didn't make a mistake this time so that was a "Whew!"

La Paloma is the closest thing around to the dearly departed Ken. How is it like the Ken? On the positive side, it shows an eclectic mix of movies on the big screen that you can't find anywhere else. Like "Groundhog Day" on Groundhog Day. Like "Casablanca" and "2001: A Space Odyssey." Like "The Rocky Horror Picture Show," a mostly awful movie that I have seen on the big screen too many times to admit. The ticket prices are reasonable. The design of the theater itself, although the building is clearly falling apart, is unique. The popcorn is freshly made. You can hear the Coaster train roll by a couple of times every showing. Now, you need to know that some of the seats are literally falling apart. The ones that aren't falling apart are not comfortable. This is not Cinepolis. Still, a few of us appreciate these old dinosaurs because of what they offer and what you can't find anywhere else.

The owner is super chill (along with his furry sidekick who enjoys belly scratches) and does a great job rotating movies from new, old and independent films. Highly recommend catching a midnight show on Halloween with a live performance. Here are some key points if you plan on visiting: * Parking - There is parking directly behind the theater in the transit center or you can find off street parking. * Cash Only - This is a cash only venue. Unless you visit their website and buy tickets online but you will have to pay a service fee. It's honestly not necessary because the theater is not crowded (except for special events, did I mention Rocky Horror). *Concession Stand - They do serve some of the best popcorn with real butter. Trust me, buy some! Sodas, Red Bull, teas, and candy. Again, cash only. * Restrooms - Always clean, well stocked. * Seating - Ok it's a very old theater and the seats match the esthetic. They are old, worn down, musty but hey, no complaints. Just enjoy the show! Check their website for the latest showing and times. Retro Rewinds are a must!
