There are lots of places to grab a bite or drink -- coffee, smoothies, yogurt, mexican food, argentine food, subs, sushi and pizza (you can actually watch the show while eating pizza on their patio). They show feature movies on the weekend and during the week old tv shows, cartoons, and seasonal stuff. It runs from sundown until around 10 or 11pm every day of the year. It can be a little hard to find, but if you can locate LA Fitness or Old Spaghetti Factory, you're getting warmer. It's nestled between Pizza Nova and Ryan Bros Coffee. Lots of free parking. They've also hosted the annual San Marcos Student Film Festival 2 years running, which is usually in June, and again free to the public. The only reason for the lack of 5 stars is that it is COLD in the winter, and WET when its rainy ...not that there's a real solution to that, other than a blanket and an umbrella.... Expect kids running around, outdoor noise from cars and conversation, but its all part of the fun. Did I mention its all FREE?

I would recommend arriving earlier than the start time so that you can look over the menu and decide what to order and not feel rushed about the movie starting. There's a QR code at every seat - you scan that and then submit your order through the website. As a rewards sign up bonus, I got a free ice cream churro (normally $12). That was really good. We also got the cauliflower bites with thai chili and I's recommend that as well. We were at screen #8. Do not sit in the first two rows (A & B). The angle is not right. We had to crane our necks to look up the actors' noses. Row C might be OK, but it's still at the same lower level as A & B. Starting at row D is where the seats are on a raised platform and you could see the screen eye level.

The theater itself is in desperate need of attention. The carpets were filthy, the walls throughout the building were dirty and while the bathrooms were clean, the entire place felt rundown and overdue for a deep cleaning. We were in Auditorium 2, and the A/C wasn't working at all, so everyone was sitting in a hot, humid theater for the entire movie. This doesn't feel like the luxury experience Cinepolis is known for. I don't blame the employees or management, they can only work with what they're given. The owner really needs to invest in maintaining this theater because it's fallen well below the standard people expect.

A luxury movie experience one needs every now and then, this THE LOT location in LJ with upscale,…read moreclean, and comfortable environs perfect for serving that desire. The Lot is very unique in that they not only serve as a movie theater, but have a full-service dinner and bar area as well. Adjoining ASA Bakery is also on-site, serving creative, too-pretty-to-eat pastries and matcha drinks. Honestly, the $24 price tag for a movie experience might seem steep, but other movies theaters are in and around that price anyways. At The Lot, at least you're getting comfortable, plush seats, a seemingly private viewing experience with your partner in your recline-ready love seat, food and drink wait service at your seat (if you desire it), and superb picture with okay enough sound. On that note, some cons: -We recently watched The Odyssey and some of the scenes were blaringly LOUD to the point where my ears felt like they could bleed. They do not divulge their sound system either, only that it's "high-end". The sound could definitely use better balance. -Mentioned love seats are very apparent upon booking now, making selection easy with no confusion. The theaters do cater to them so if you're in a group, you'll feel far from them. -Try as we might to pay in person, we could not avoid the service fee applied to all sales. Service fees are my biggest gripe, enough to teeter this rating. The atmosphere though is rather spectacular, so some things are to be ignored. -No true matinee prices unless you're a member. $20-22, otherwise, on Wednesday's for non-members.

I really enjoy the experience of The Lot, but between this location and the one on Liberty Station,…read morethe service always leaves something to be desired. Each visit (three separate occasions), something I've ordered was either forgotten or brought out very late. On this particular visit (Fri, July 3rd), I went to see a movie for my birthday. Unfortunately, due to public transportation, I was unable to make it to the theater as early as I wanted. My movie started @ 1:30, but I didn't make it inside until about 1:40 or so. The trailers were still playing, but the lights were off inside and the other guests seemed to already have their food/drinks. So, I attribute some of the mishap to that. However, there were less than ten people in the theater. So, keep that in mind as well. I ordered poke nachos, a popcorn, and a soda. Pretty simple order, right? My "host" brought out the popcorn + drink pretty swiftly. The popcorn tasted stale, just like another time I'd visited. Even though I'm pretty sure their 1:30 movies are their first showing. About halfway through the movie, I pressed the call button because I still hadn't received my nachos. The host said, "They might be ready now. Let me check." Translation: "I forgot them." That was pretty annoying. Especially as this is the third time something like this has occurred at The Lot. And I've only been three times in total. Luckily, the popcorn was free because it was my birthday, which I had to remind the host twice before he tried charging me. Do not order it unless you enjoy stale popcorn. The nachos and ginger ale were tasty, though. Overall, the vibe/setup is nice for viewing films. I only which the service and attention to detail was better.

This theater is truly luxury where you can order your food and drink right at your seat and they do have actual meals (such as burgers, etc.). They also do have alcohol and cocktails. The seating here is unique where it's two sweaters (great for couples). than the typical long row seating. The chairs are comfy and feels quite intimate to be honest. I would say the only downside is that you know the movie is ending when the servers come to drop off your check so it can be a bit distracting from that. But overall, it's a great movie theater where you can eat and watch with your loved ones!

I've been coming to Cinepolis La Costa since they first opened and have always loved this theater…read more I hadn't been in a while, though, so I was excited to go back last night with a group of friends. The location is great, with a large parking lot that's easy to get in and out of. I still love the lobby and overall atmosphere. It feels a lot more upscale than your average movie theater, and everything seemed clean and well maintained. The biggest disappointment was the service. We ordered a popcorn refill and additional drinks during the movie and ended up waiting about 30 to 40 minutes for them to arrive. I also never received a receipt at the end and had to stop by customer service afterward. I also have to mention how much I miss the Greek bowl they used to serve. It had gyro meat and was hands down my favorite thing on the menu. I would love to see it make a comeback. I'll definitely be back because I still enjoy the theater overall, but I do feel like the experience isn't quite as good as it used to be.
