Yes, This was a good deal $ wise. I paid $600 for 4 trees to be trimmed. Two 50 foot Pin Oaks needed guys to climb 25 feet high and remove the heavy bush and some large branches. They also had to work safely around fencing; no over head lines here. I can look up and see the sky through them now. One 30 foot hard oak in the front lawn needed very large branches removed. Nothing was hanging over the house. A smaller Crimson King Maple needed only light trimming of lower branches. Josh and Jacob? climbed the trees and appeared to know how and which to trim; however, they responded to my wishes to cut particular branches. The job took 1.5 hours exactly, everything was cleaned up completely before they left. My husband noticed the negative comments on line after I made the deal so I stayed outside with them the entire time, walking from front to back. The check was not made out to Show Me Tree Service, but to an individual. The company was not solicited by me, but showed up at my door in East KC. The sales person was a deal maker. All in all, I'm very happy with the job, the workers and the clean-up. read more

This "company" does shoddy, incomplete work and behave like a fly-by-night team of con artists. They were hired to remove a couple of trees and the leaves from my yard. It took them all day to do a minimal amount of work. They were fiddling with their broken chainsaw, borrowing my tools, and they left everything lying around the yard when done. They promised to return the following day to clean up, and left their ladder as insurance. However, they came and got their ladder and then snuck off without completing the job. They do not answer their phone, use phony names, and haven't set up their voice mail. I can see why they were looking for work so far from home, as they are obviously not concerned with repeat business or their reputation. Please don't waste your money on them - they will create more work for you in the end. read more

While working at another location on our block, they approached my wife and I about a couple of stumps in our yard. We agreed on a price and they said they'd be back to do the job. Weeks later I see them grinding stumps on our block again and ask them about mine. Was told they'd be right over. Saw them loading up their equipment and went out to talk with them. Said they were told to load up and go. Contacted the company and was told that there must have been some misunderstanding about the price. I know the price that they quoted my wife and I. Wasn't even going to contact me about the job. I'm kind of thankful. I've seen the work that was done on the neighbors lawn. Not very impressive. Consider your decision carefully. read more

We hired Show-Me Tree Service to cut down a large dead pine tree in our back yard and two brush piles. Wayne was our contact. The bid was reasonable. The tree was cut down, removed, the yard was smoothed back out, and the fence that was removed for access was reinstalled. They were very competent and professional. When bidding, Wayne voluntarily produced a copy of their insurance coverage (very important). Very highly recommended! read more

My neighbor hired this company to remove a tree. While doing so the tree crashed through my brand new fence. This company never contacted me. They "repaired" my fence with some of the broken boards. I have contacted the owner Jason Sawyer numerous times. He says he will be out to repair it in a few days and never shows or calls. He won't answer my calls unless I call from a phone other than mine. He pretends he is an employee and tells me to call the next day to speak to the owner. He has multiple complaints on him. I'm asking him to purchase a few boards and install them correctly. What a shame ! He also said he would return to remove the stump at the neighbors. He has not done so and is avoiding her calls as well. Beware !! read more

They stayed off my grass, cleaned up after themselves, and came by to chat about how to maintain the new 3" thick driveway after the job was complete. No money switched hands until I inspected the work, and it's a great looking driveway! The price was right too. I'm thinking this company has turned the corner with the new owners. I had no issues and expect that they will continue to do inexpensive, quality work in my area.I know several neighbors that had the same experience with Show Me. read more

They will not call you back if you request them to complete the work but will call you back immediately if you request a bid for services. Something is shady about this tree service company. They are not listed in the phone book nor do they have the business permits required by the city. read more

Do not hire this company! They cut down my parent's tree in their front yard near the street. Told my parents it would be 4,000 to cut down and remove the tree. They then told my parents the tree next to it also needed to come down so my parents agreed. Thinking the total was going to be another 4,000. When the work was completed Show-me stated that the total owed was now 13,000! My parents would have fallen for this scam, but Show-me does not take credit cards. My mom went to the bank and by this time she was upset and near tears. The bank refused to give her the money until my mom talked to one of her children. The bank claimed there were too many red flags showing a scam was taking place. My mom called my husband and asked him to come over. Before he got to their house Show me was asking where their money was. My mom explained that her son-in-law was on his way over, because she felt like the price quoted was way too much. The owner immediately dropped the price to 8,000 which my parents paid. 8,000 was still way over priced for the work they completed, but my parents felt intimidated and wanted this negotiation over. This company scammed an older couple. Thanks to the bank and family members it didn't go as far as it could have. read more

Do not hire them! They look professional, but they are not! They want their money before they finish and keep asking for more money when half done. The head of the crew is as slick as a used car salesmen. They prey on elderly people and cannot be trusted to clean up the mess they make. Look for someone else to do your tree trimming. They left my yard in a big mess with tree limbs laying everywhere, plus one of my trees is half cut down. What do I do now??????? They swept through our Chillicothe neighborhood like a bolt of lightning. We were on our way out for the day, but agreed to let them trim our trees while we were gone. One of the men was waiting for me when I got home and I wrote the check. He asked for the check to be written to his name, not the company's. When he left, I looked around (a little late) and found that my garden statues and potted plants were all turned over. I got in my car and tracked them down and complained. I also called the main office to tell them about my plants and about not cleaning up completely. We got our money's worth with the tree work, but were not happy about the aftermath. read more
