I know this review is lengthy, however, it is worth the 5-minute read and may save you headaches and heartache. We purchased a 2023 Jeep Grand Wagoneer from Tim Short Ford in LaFollette, TN in April of this year. The vehicle had less than 13,000 miles on it at the time of purchase. The day we picked the vehicle up from the dealership, the vehicle had not been properly detailed as promised. Upon further inspection of the vehicle when my wife arrived home, she found illegal drugs in the vehicle. We immediately called the dealership to address the situation, stating that this was unacceptable. We had the vehicle personally detailed, to which the dealership did reimburse us. On April 24, 2025 (8 days after purchasing the vehicle), we returned the vehicle to Tim Short Ford to have a ceramic coating applied to the vehicle (a service the dealership provided at a cost of $895.00. Prior to purchasing the coating package, it was explained to us in detail that the ceramic coating application was a multi-step process (cleaning, paint corrections...) prior to the ceramic application. When my wife picked the vehicle up upon completion of the ceramic coating, she questioned why the vehicle was so dirty. The response she got for the dirt being on the vehicle was that the coating was applied at an offsite location and that the dirt accumulated on the vehicle on the way back to the dealership. As a result of our skepticism, we took the vehicle to a detailer here in Knoxville (who specializes in this type of coating), and upon inspection told my wife that ceramic coating had never applied to this vehicle. I called the sales manager about it, to which he stated that the service had been completed. During the phone conversation, I asked for a refund in the amount of $895, the price we had paid for the service as we had an independent third-party state the work was never performed. The sales manager stated that he would need to speak to his managers for approval. On May 14, 2025, on the way to the Jeep dealership here in Knoxville (to address several issues with the battery, alternator, and computer system) the vehicle was started throwing error codes and ultimately shut down the vehicle while my wife was driving down the highway. The vehicle was at the Jeep dealership for 8 days requiring extensive repairs. Upon completion of the work at the dealership, we reached back out to Tim Short Ford regarding all our issues with this vehicle, including the ceramic coating. On June 9, 2025, Tim Short Ford sent my wife and I settlement paperwork for the ceramic coating. This paperwork wasn't solely for reimbursement. By signing this settlement paperwork, we would be releasing Tim Short Ford from any further liability regarding the Wagoneer going forward. In addition, there was a disparagement clause in the document stating we would not post anything on social media or any other platform regarding our experience with Tim Short Ford. We never signed this paperwork because we wanted our voice to be heard. Prior to writing this review, we reached out to James Brafford, who is a Partner and General Manager of the dealership detailing our experience. Thinking he may want to know how his dealership is being ran. He briefly responded to my email saying he would personally investigate the situation and get back to us. That was on September 6, 2025, and we have not heard anything back from Mr. Brafford since. Based on what my wife and I have experienced and briefly detailed above, I question the ethical and legal practices of Tim Short Ford in Lafollette, TN. From the illegal drugs found in the vehicle to charging for work that was not performed (and validated by an independent third party). Proceed with caution if you decide to do business with this dealership. read more

Then tell me my appointment is 12/8/25 @ 10am. The next day they texted me back saying sorry they cannot do it that day. Rescheduled it for the 15th @ 10AM. Then text me back four hours later saying that they apologize and they cannot do it AGAIN. Rescheduled it for the 22nd @ 10AM. Then text me back two and a half hours later saying that they apologize and they cannot do it AGAIN. I called ford recall assistance center they are sending me to a Ford Dealer RAY VARNER FORD in Clinton. Made an appointment, and have it scheduled. ONE TIME! I bought a used 2014 Audi from Tim Short Ford in La Follette, TN for $7500.00 (changed their name for Short-Redmond). I could have gone to Clinton but wanted to support local business close to home. I am recently divorced & saved up enough money to purchase this car. I drove it twice before I had to take the Audi into their Service department to find out the car had a coolant leak. the salesperson, Kris, had to fill the coolant up for me before I drove off the lot. The repair cost was $3987.03, my sone had to pay for the repairs. I drove it once more for the same error code about the coolant came on. I drove it back to the Dealership where it was going to cost another couple of thousands to try to fix the same problem. I tried to have a GM or someone in management call me to try to help me with this. I was told I bought the car As Is. I understand this, but they had to have known there was this major problem with the car. I do know that they knew. I cannot afford to keep fixing this car, so have sold it for what the repair bill is to a mechanic aware of the problem. I was told to sell it on Facebook Marketplace, something I would not be able to do to someone. I was able to get out from under the car because of the Service Department helping me, definitely not the GM or management. I was so excited to be able to call this car mine after the ending of my 36-year marriage. I really wish this dealership was better, they need to do better. read more

BUYER BEWARE - THIS DEALER SELLS FAULTY USED CARS & HIDES ISSUES FROM BUYERS & DOES NOT STAND BEHIND THEIR PRODUCTS: I bought a 2016 Nissan Frontier with 47K miles from this dealership in Feb 2025, spending nearly $23K. However, on my drive home immediately after the purchase, the check engine came on. I stopped at an O'Reilly's for them to check the code and it came back with a code that indicated that two parts were not working: 1. Evaporator Purge Solenoid 2. Canister Purge Valve I replaced both of these parts and the check engine light is still on. Furthermore, I am still not getting the gas mileage that the factor specifies. I have had this vehicle diagnosed by 4 ASE certified different mechanics and none of them can figure out what the problem is. Meanwhile, I have lost a small fortune in gas money to driving this vehicle around for the last two months. When I called my salesman the next day after he did not offer to do anything for me to make this right. Which is about what I expected from a salesperson who already collected his commission. I reached out the dealership's GM by email, ZERO response. I've now taken this vehicle to a Nissan dealership, where they've now proposed $1,500+ of work to correct the issue. Had this dealership had any honesty or integrity in their sales and businesses practices, I would not be experiencing this right now. I would suggest anyone purchasing a used car from this dealership to take it to a mechanic before you make an offer, or better yet, just take your chances at another dealership all together. If they are comfortable treating my deal like this, then they'll do the same to you. read more

I flew in from Texas to purchase a 2022 Jeep Rubicon. We contacted the sales rep Tyler within an hour of driving off to inform him that a message light had come on the dash. After 2 weeks of not getting a response from the dealership I posted a negative review regarding my experience and the lack of communication. The Manager Charlie ends up calling us after seeing the negative review and threatens not to pay for the repair unless I take the review down. In my opinion this is very unethical. I ended up taking the review down and they stopped payment on the check! Extremely unprofessional. This business does not show any negative reviews on Google because management uses bullying tactics to have customers remove honest negative reviews. These folks were pleasant and easy to deal with. I would work with them again. They were very responsive and communicative and personal; they did a good job providing details and even personal video inspection of the vehicle before making the drive over (which is great because I'm not close by). If you're sure you've found the right vehicle, you can even place a deposit on the vehicle to keep other folks from snatching it before you get there. Worked with salesman David ,started out great ,he only wanted to work off of payment numbers . Questioned him several times how his numbers didn't add up to what I thought the vehicle price was, was also told 3 different numbers on my interest rate. He didn't want to tell me who the financing was through . I finally asked for a deal sheet to get financing through my credit union and was told or rather yelled at in the show room to leave the building , don't ever come back and don't ever buy a vehicle there. To say I was shocked is an understatement but I did walk out of the building but I got madder with every step , I did go back in and was confronted by David Jones the salesman again and also the manager. I was asked to go back outside again and did with the manager , he was actually pretty easy to deal with on the situation. I did leave the dealership and was contacted an hour or so latter by the salesman and apologized to, also contacted by the for-mentioned manager and was offered the truck for $1000 dollars cheaper and financing through a local credit union at the lower rate . We know better than to take a car dealers word, but the sales manager Charlie led us to believe repairs for our vehicle shipped across country, which arrived damaged, would be covered. Damage was not disclosed during purchase, in any pics or videos we received. Shipping Bill of Lading sent to us afterward clearly shows the damage at the time of upload for transport. The dealership covered an initial repair estimate + a bit over for our troubles. After conversations and e-mails were so positive, we were led to believe they'd keep their word regarding covering additional damage if found at the final repair appointment. They did not keep their word; we were told they never agreed to repair the "as is" vehicle. We were in the wrong for trusting someone who seemed so honest. Please learn from our stupid mistake and go elsewhere. read more

On the morning of December 11th I took my 2012 Ford Fusion in to be worked on. I provided a list of things a shop in GA told me needed done and asked them to double check it and let me know. The first guy said I'd hear something within an hour or two, then Ryan said I would hear from them sometime the next day. When Ryan called he said the only thing wrong was a transmission seal leak and the hub bearing (front driver side) needed changed. Needless to say I was pleasantly shocked it was not worse. He said fixing these two things would cost $1400 ($1230 in labor)... since I was traveling to Ohio for Christmas I didn't really have much choice but to say yes. My car was ready and I left on Thursday morning. I drove a short way and noticed a horrible noise coming from the front end. I made it to Legacy Ford in Corbin, KY and they took the car in immediately. They notified me that my front suspension was shot and was not safe to be on the road. That I had to have 3 tie rods replaced and needed new tires (which I knew). I had to pay another $1200 for the tie rods, tires, mounting, balancing and alignment. Lindsey and everyone at Legacy Ford were amazing. I called Tony the Service Manager at Short-Redmond and he assured me that he was livid this took place, that he would talk to his supervisor and that Ryan and John (the mechanic) would probably not have jobs there any longer. Tony said that they would make it right for me. He said he would call me within a couple days. Two weeks later (Dec. 20th) Ryan calls and says that he is sorry for the situation and that the mechanic no longer works there. He said for the inconvenience they were going to make sure next time I needed it I would get a free tire rotation and oil change. I asked him if he was seriously telling me this is their offer to "make it right" when they put my daughter and myself in danger. I am a widow and single mother that does not have money to just throw away. It has now been another 3 weeks (Jan. 10th) and I have not heard from them again. read more

I bought a car here 6 months ago and ever since i bought it i've had nothing but problems with it. to start off i went in here telling them i want a reliable car as this is my FIRST car. they recommend this one to me because it was in my price range (a 2019 ford fiesta). the car didn't come with a key fob that worked so they set me up with a guy to make me a key, i went back and had a key made, the key worked for a week and stopped which i had to pay out of pocket for once again even though i wasn't told the key didn't work until AFTER i bought the car. i went back two more times and to this day i still do not have a key that works. 2 weeks later, my engine light comes on , they told me it was my battery had corrosion and i had to pay out of pocket to get it fixed because its not covered in the warranty, which i've only had the car two weeks and these things should've been looked at before the car was sold imo. about a month after this my car starts making HORRIBLE noises and i TOLD THEM i think it's my brakes. and at this time i've only had the car only about a month i take it back in again for the third time they tell me nothing is wrong with it. i leave and the car is still making noises so i go back AGAIN but this time with my mother and she tells them as well she thinks it's the brakes. they finally tell me that the breaks are FRIED and it's completely unsafe to keep driving the car, yet they still don't fix it, and there's absolutely no way i have destroyed my breaks after a month of owning the car. i pay to get them fixed, i haven't been back in about 5 months except about 2 weeks ago my car breaks down, my belt is snapped. i make a APPOINTMENT to go get it looked at because it's not driving the same at all, shaking when i get up to speed, my engine is ticking, and it's making loud air noise when the car is idling. i come into my appointment and they tell me i have to leave my car for at least two days, and this isn't even to fix it, just to look at it which was never told over the phone and this is my only car, they don't care about their customers. and haven't fixed my car at all, and completely sold me a car that was clearly never serviced or looked at. i don't recommend buying a car here at all. read more

I'll start by saying the sales staff in Lafollette, Tn and management are what I'd expect from a Mega Ford Dealership/Owner - courteous, attentive and eager to land your business. However, major repairs within 6 months of owning the vehicle tells me a lot about their inventory and business strategy. Purchased the extended "Platinum Warranty" ($1800) top of the line customer protection, not as explained during the purchase. The service manager has a degree in run around, A $7k twin turbo replacement with $100 out of pocket turned into $700 out of pocket and hardware that was supposedly replaced (required by Ford), was reused (hardware was part of the core charge for the turbo so i was unable to have the old hardware). A 2-day repair turned into a 3 week wait and see, negotiate with adjuster...courtesy cars not available. Unfortunate situation, prefer to support local dealers before this occurred. Buyer beware, ask them to walk through how a twin turbo replacement works if the turbo's are defective before you buy from them. I've shared pics of the after repair oil leaks, old hardware and mufflers dripping with SRF, no reply. Star Rating - 0 read more

Worst car dealership ever. Super pushy especially right now because of the car shortages. I have always bought vehicles (4 to be exact in the last 10 years or so) from them up until now. The one time I've ever had an issue they treat me like garbage since the sale is already over and even had a general sales manager roll his eyes at me because he saw me walking in because he got smart with me and I got smart back with him the day before because this issue involves my five year old daughter. If you are ok with them walking all over you they will be super nice but the moment you have an issue things get super unprofessional and they start gaslighting you. I will never take my car back to be serviced because I no longer trust them nor will I ever trade a vehicle or buy another vehicle from them again and I hope you have no issues if you do go here but just keep this review in the back of your mind in case you do. Don't let them pick out a car for you. And don't let them overcharge you because they will while they laugh at you and run around making jokes and videos on their phones because that's what they do more than being an actual professional car dealership. read more

These people are a joke! They are not interested whatsoever in selling cars. They are in the business of insulting people and hurting their feelings. They offered my daughter $500 trade in for her car that had at least an $1800 value. They had the gall to tell me that I couldn't go anywhere else and find as good of deal. Well let me tell you I found the exact same car with 20000 less miles in Chattanooga for $1900 less and they didn't charge DOC fees like this bunch does which saved me another $699. That's $2599 savings for just a nice Saturday drive to Chattanooga because they were interested in selling cars. The sales manager for Short Redmond Ford should go back to Knoxville where he worked before and they should hire somebody at Short Redmond that can get off his high horse and sell some cars. If Chattanooga can do it then I think Lafollette can. Word of wisdom. Check out other deals in other cities if you want to save some money or you can deal with these people and throw your hard earned money in the trash.....It's entirely up to you!! read more

Seriously the worst car buying experience I have ever had. Associate Robert Salyers should be fired IMMEDIATELY. We set up an appointment to view a used car last week with him. In order to even come view the car he made us place a $500 deposit. No big deal, I understand other people are looking at it. When we arrived for our appointment however I saw and overheard Robert out on the lot just chatting with another associate about how selling cars was "as easy as selling candy bars". We went on into the showroom, not knowing that the cocky jackass bragging to his coworkers was the person we would have to deal with. We walked around the showroom trying to find help and no one even spoke to us. We proceeded to go to the front desk and were ignored by two teenage girls on their cell phones until we pretty much forced them to talk to us. They reluctantly pages for Robert and no one could find him. He finally walked into the showroom and said that he was working with someone else and would be a minute, even when we already had an appointment with him and I had just seen him doing nothing but chatting casually with another associate. He told us to sit down and watch tv and wait. We waited for about 45 minutes before he finally decided he had time to work for us. We went to look at the car and it was nothing like he had portrayed. The car was not even in good enough shape to be sold, much less at the price he tried to push it on us for. He then told us we couldn't test drive without him and told us to sit and wait. We sat down, and I watched him walk over to the couch and sit down with a customer he seemed to have a personal relationship with and just started watching ESPN and chatting WHILE WE WERE WAITING TO TEST DRIVE A CAR. 30 minutes later he walks by and says, "just take it down to the light and come back" and let's us drive without him, after he had lied and said we couldn't go without him. We test drove the car and it would barely even run. The accelerator stuck and the brakes didn't work. We got back and decided we didn't want the car and that's when he finally decided to take interest in us. He kept trying to get us to stay and let him find us something after wasting 2 hours of our time. We told him no and that we just wanted the $500 refunded. He then called us 3 times after we left trying to get us to let him keep the $500 and put it towards another car. Each time we told him no, we want our money refunded. He finally said he'd talk to a manager and get it done. A few days went by and no money. We called the dealership and got put on hold for 45 minutes and then finally Robert picks up, and informs us he still has not refunded our money because he "has to ask the general manager" and wants to know if we'd like to put it towards something again. We again told him NO and to give us our money back. He again said he'd get it done. After going through that 2 more times, we finally talked to a young lady today who was very apologetic and refunded our money on her own immediately. Which means, Robert held $500 from us and lied to us about not being able to get it back to us just so he could try to push some other piece of shit car on us. Seriously I do not understand how this place is even staying in business with the way they treat customers. It was the worst customer service experience I have had at any business.
