At a recent visit with my current dentist, I was informed that the original root canal was not completed properly and that I would need to have the procedure redone. After scheduling an appointment with your office, I was told I would receive an estimate by email within a few days. After waiting about a month without receiving anything, I called three days prior to my scheduled appointment to request the cost, since no estimate had been sent. During that call, I was given a price verbally and was told I would receive confirmation two days prior to my appointment. I also specifically requested that the estimate be emailed to me. Shortly after that call, I received an emailed estimate that was approximately double the price I had just been quoted over the phone. This inconsistency was very concerning and has caused me to question the transparency and reliability of the pricing information I was given. I would appreciate clarification regarding the pricing difference and an explanation of the original treatment outcome.

All I had thus far was an exam but believe me when I say it is always a trumatic experience for me. This is because of the fear I have of any dentist office. Dr. Finkler was AMAZING. Although I feel like he thought I was crazy for all the crying lol, he empathized with me and helped me get through the exam. This was huge! Dr. Finkler's assistant was awesome. She was knowledgeable and very nice. The office staff were also exceptional. Brittany was kind and helpful. Best customer service experience in quite a while. That's a big deal, especially in this day and time. The front and back office appeared to be very clean and stylish. Trust me, I've been in the dentist office where there was a bloody tooth in the seat! So I look for cleanliness. Oh yeah, I never went back there! I have an appointment for a root canal next week at Commonwealth I'll follow up my review afterwards, eeek! 11/5/19 I said I'd update my review and here I am. I've since had my root canal and I'm feeling better. The whole experience has been A++! Dr. Finkler is awesome as is his staff! If you need a root canal I highly recommend Commonwealth Endodontics! Thanks for taking care of me, Dr. Finkler!

He said that you could drive a truck through this infection whole i her jaw. Within days after her first root canal procedure, she was in level 8-10 pain 24 hours a day. Dr. Bagchandani does not believe in giving antibiotics or steroids unnecessarily and thought my daughter did not need them. He would not see my daughter over the weekend in unbearable pain and reluctantly gave her the one antibiotic and then switched it. Her jaw locked up. No amount or combination of painkillers could help her. Her pain was so pain she was throwing up the medications and this dentist was reluctant to give her Zophran. Her jaw locked up. This scenario went on for several visits for almost a month. Dr Bagchandani said that he didn't know how to help her but would not refer us to another doctor and didn't recommend the ER. The final straw was when he did not call us back at 4am when my daughter could not stand the pain any longer and we could not figure out how to find the correct entrance for the MCV ER. We called another dentist that night and he called back in 5 minutes and told us to come in immediately. The infection exploded in her mouth on our way. The new dentist was been able to solve the problem immediately and identify the problem. I'm sure Dr. Bhagchandani has done successful root canals on other people, but he told us many times that HE DOES NOT KNOW WHAT TO DO, yet would never refer us for any help. I would avoid this dentist at all costs. Negligent, dangerous.

One of my molars decided to split in two while I was eating a piece of fruit yesterday afternoon…read more (How many yelp reviews start out with THAT statement?) I called my regular dentist and found out that he is on vacation. While I sat there feeling sorry for myself a friend made some calls for me and set me up with Dr. Sarnowski at East Coast Endodontics. What a lucky break that was! The practice squeezed me in at 8:40 today. (Note -- they didn't get the phone call asking for the appointment until 4:40 yesterday -- now THAT is responsiveness!) The front office check-in was friendly and welcoming -- thanks, Evan! I was quickly escorted back to a chair by Carley, who put me at ease while still talking through what they were going to look at and (depending on the xrays) what would be the course of action. She answered my questions and even gave me a great nearby recommendation for lunch for another day. Dr. Sarnowski came in and again walked me through things. Turned out i needed a root canal today and then a crown (to be done by my regular dentist.) He was friendly, patient, and efficient. When I explained that my mouth needs a lot of novocaine to be effective or I still feel the drill, he thanked me and adjusted to give me more than usual. They proactively gave me sunglasses so I wouldn't have to stare into the overhead lights. They offered me a stress ball to squeeze when they saw my white knuckling grip on the chair. Nice touches to ease a stressful event. Despite being "squeezed in" I was in his chair for 90 minutes, and never got the sense that they were rushing through my care to get to another patient. Other than the novocaine injections, no pain and no issues. Check out was also easy and friendly. Look, no one wants a root canal. But if you have to have one, isn't it better to get it from a practice that will make you as comfortable as possible and treat you like they care? I hope to never have need for East Coast Endodontics services again, but it is really good to know they are there.
