Poorly run and advertised. Just want to warn people before booking it looks nothing like the way it's advertised. We booked through Airbnb, but talking to other tenants staying here they were unaware of this mess too. It is under construction, and should not even be open or available. Our balcony was blocked off, ruining not only the view but for paying more to have a beach view. It was left trashed, which they could have at least cleaned up. But I could have gotten over the view and not having a balcony, but our unit was left dirty and trashed as well. The bed had sand all over it, the patio furniture from the balcony was in our living room, we found crumbs and trash under the table in the living room, and you could feel and smell the dust coming from the ac units as soon as we turned it on. We paid for a cleaning fee of almost $300 for it to be left like this. We tried to contact the host and customer support and they were unwilling to compromise with anything and we're only given an apology. They kept repeating that they stated there was construction and balconies would be closed- but gave us the runaround for why the inside unit was not clean. For what we paid for, we could have rented somewhere else for the same price and have a balcony and not worry about construction or a dirty unit.

ROACHES. Shoreline towers 3074. Saw a few dead ones upon arrival but when it got dark saw at least 30 crawling throughout. Management notified at 11pm, Stormi offered to move us but due to having babies asleep decided to pack up and move in the morning. I was told management would be calling at 8-8:15am. Never happened, so I called and spoke with Logan. He was more worried about who I spoke with and stated management doesn't get in until 9:30am. Did not want to move us to another room. He wanted to have an exterminator come. What a fun thing to worry about on vacation. Previous VRBO review states the place was sprayed 5/2/22 which means they knew about this problem already. Also, it had been sprayed 2 days prior to our check out per note on the dirty counter. After Logan listened to conversation with stormi, we were moved to a nice place but cleaning standards still not up to par especially with small children. 2 days after checkin and no call from management. We will not be back or booking with Realjoy again.

Messaged apt complex 7/25 prior to Move In on 8/7 to insure the unit would be thoroughly cleaned (I…read morehad major back surgery L2-S1 fusion 6/27/22 and glaucoma/cataracts/laser surgery 8/2/23-8/3/23). I even offered to PAY for a professional cleaning if needed, but they assured me it would be "thoroughly cleaned". It wasn't, and instead of apologies or solutions, the cleaning lady (apparently there is only 1) went home sick, they refused to get us a hotel overnight so they could clean it the next day, and Ashley was rude, condescending, and told me they wouldn't do anything because it was "habitable". (FYI: After recent surgery, getting an infection from dirty surfaces is a major medical issue) So, we spent all week cleaning. We didn't get a call from someone until after 4 pm 8/9, and by then we'd done half the cleaning already. I asked if they could get someone to steam clean the carpets as they hadn't been vacuumed or steam cleaned, and they said they didn't have anyone available. So, I said we'd try and get a rental at Walmart. Apparently, Walmart stopped doing those, so we purchased one for $187.00 instead of having Stanley Steemer do it for over $300.00. We scrubbed the counters, the sinks, all the cabinets inside and out and top to bottom, the fridge, had to scrub out the washing machine, all of their fancy trim throughout the apt had thick ledges overflowing w/hair and dust, the floors were filthy, etc...just nuts. They were supposed to compensate us for the time/work put into the cleaning, and instead only reimbursed us for the steam cleaner which I told them they could have since we only bought it due to Walmart not renting them, and Venue not having anyone available. They lied to us going into this place telling us they've never seen roaches, and then putting in an email they have seen roaches even up on the 4th floor. They lied about cleaning the apartments in between renters. Took them several days to give us keys to the gym and pool. I thought their Regional manager, Ms. Hasty, would actually DO something, but she didn't. If you want to rent in Destin, FL, do it anywhere else. This place is poorly managed, dirty, lousy pest control, and contains extremely rude staff.

It tends to be quiet. Does have bug prob;em I had to nip in the bud. (talking to others in the area this is not uncommon as the septic system is horrible. was told bleaching often helps and has. The porters picking up trash are okay but I wouldn't get an apartment near dumpster its horrible. Lot of pets and not everyone cleaning up after them. Love the area behind pool overlooking pond in back with catch and release. Lots of turtles and fish. The biggest issue is way to many dogs.

The elevators were also a bit sketchy, with no lights or indicators to show where they are. There are signs saying upgrades are in progress, so hopefully that improves soon. On the positive side, the staff were very friendly and pleasant, which made the experience better. The resort has three pools, but I really wish there was an adults-only area to relax without the noise. Beach access is a great perk, and the location is solid, but the resort could use some updates to match its surroundings. With a few key improvements, it could be a fantastic place to stay.

Spoke to an assistant, was told he would contact me, that was 5 days ago and numerous calls/voice mails, no call back! Called again, spoke to assistant, again, I was told they'd get back to me after offering me a 2 night voucher, really? Why would I want to stay here again? the facility is in need of a complete upgrade! While the view from the 19th floor was beautiful it didn't make up for the fact that this condo was old, dated, dirty and to top it off I rented directly from Pelican Beach management since their brochure prides itself on customer satisfaction! Not this customer! Disgusted in Destin!

When Greystar bought everything changed especially Mgmt. they have had a few good people but for the most recent there are a few people that are not nice at all... Robots, no compassion. They had a fire there recently and I believe it was due to faulty wires that workers caused. No firewalls, water was weak and firemen had little pressure!! Over 70 people lost their liFe long possessions and memories and residentsWe got nothing but the run around from Mgmt and I felt no empathy at all from them. Sent bills out. tried to collect more money from displaced residents. So much more I could say. I believe it's an unsafe complex and you are dealing with very difficult Corporation Greystar

Truly devastated to hear about the recent fire at Legacy on the Bay. My heart goes out to all…read moretenants affected. Unfortunately, my own experience living here reflected a long pattern of negligence and unsafe living conditions. I was forced to move out after repeated issues were ignored -- including blackened electrical outlets, mold contamination, and improper AC installation on rotted, mold-infested boards that spread spores through the vents. I lived in Building 3, Unit 3305 (Top Floor, Apt 305). Despite providing proof, management refused to take accountability. They even deleted my work orders after I was displaced and tried to force me to sign a waiver waiving my statutory tenant rights. To make matters worse, the property's attorney (from Jacksonville, FL) initially reached out to me regarding my complaints, but has not returned any of my follow-up attempts. I am still trying to resolve wrongful charges, misuse of my security deposit, and unauthorized entries into my apartment. I urge potential tenants to proceed with caution and current residents to document everything in writing.
