With our main KP medical office in the Long Beach location (which is a lot larger), we seem to stop into the Signal Hill offices when we are in the area to do errands and need to get some preventive medicine done (or do a blood draw, which I would no longer recommend at this site....the phlebotomists tend to gossip with each other while doing their work, making it seem like what they are doing doesn't require their full attention...it caused quite a bit of bruising and pain). We had been reminded that the 2024 flu shots were available now, and that the Signal Hill office were running a walk-in clinic till November. We've found the surface parking to be the right size for the smaller facility, allowing one to find parking. It is a smaller facility, with everything one needs on the first floor. If you have an existing appointment, you can check in via kiosks or wait in a one line queue for the next available registrar. But before you hit the queue, there are signs stating that for the flu clinic, one can walk right into the community room (entrance to the room visible from the queue). It was a bit weird skipping the line and walking in, but we were assured we were doing the right thing. You put your name on a sign-in sheet on a clipboard (old school!), and then have a seat to fill out the consent form. The form did ask for our Kaiser Medical Record Number (MRN), which allowed the nurse to look up our record. After a few minutes, our name was called individually, and we were taken behind some dividers to get our shot. The set-up is identical to the flu clinics that many work places sponsor during flu season for their employees. Since we were here, we asked about the new Covid vaccine. The online system lets you make an appointment, with all nearby KP locations being a week or two out. But the nurse stated that since it wasn't so busy, we could get in line with the reception to make an immediate appointment, so that's what we did. It took a bit longer (the receptionist had to do some magic on her end since the system was telling her the next appointment was a week out), but after we got our appointment changed to immediate, we were able to go back into the community room. We filled out a different consent form, waited a little bit, and had the same nurse administer the vaccine. The whole process took under an hour. Kaiser Signal Hill does a nice job of optimizing the pre-appointment process, actually making you feel that everyone's time is important.

This hospital as always pulled through for me. From emergencies, surgery and radiology etc. This hospital has taken care of my family. This place has some of the best doctors in place. Clean hospital, with staff that is professional. From admissions, nurses and doctors. All were professional that treated you with respect. But not to sugarcoat, there are some security guards that are completely jerks! Incompetent and judgemental. But I assume no matter where you go, there are always a few. :) I hate hospitals period, for some reason Memorial has been comforting. Compared to County hospitals and nearby hospitals in in the Long Beach area. Memorial is solid. Of course all comes with Good Health Insurance. It does make a difference on what type of insurance you have. I was treated to at this hosptial on Friday 02.27.2026. Admissions was professional and friendly. Took me right away! Easy breezy! Kudos for the service.

I was very tensed up knowing I am going to have another surgery, and I had thought in my own mind what would happen. They told me the veins in my arm are too small for dialysis and they need to make them bigger. I thought they were going to cut my arm open and stick a tube inside the veins. I was freaking out thinking about it. Dr. Vardayo explained the procedure in terms that were easy for us to understand therefore most of my stress was removed. Dr. Vardayo said it is an out patient procedure and I can go to my favorite hospital Los Alamitos. I will get there very early to get prep for the surgery and it should take about an hour. I will go to recovery and then be released. There should be no stitches and it should heal in 2 weeks. They will cut across my inner arm cut the big vien shd connect it to the smaller vein this will allow my blood to pump in and stretch my vein out to allow dialysis when it is time. By me having this done now it will be ready incase an emergency arises and they can do dialysis asap. If I do not do it they would have to go through my neck...that is the worst. I am very happy with all my doctors I currently have as they have been very good in giving me the best health care ever. I am now happy I have premium insurance and all the money I pay every month is so worth it.

I was given a referral to see an ancillary provider three weeks ago and I'm still waiting to hear that someone actually received the referral. if they ever do I expect several days of back-and-forth phone calls, messaging and long wait times on hold to find out if an appointment is actually available The last 2 times I connected with the staff to refer a question to the doctor( staff whose specific job is to coordinate between me and the doctor.) I waited over two weeks despite multiple follow up calls and still had to hound them to get some kind of response. The doctor is in the office only once or possibly twice a week and forget anyone being able to contact her any other time. Except when I am speaking, face-to-face with the doctor once a month, or with the med techs in irvine who do scans and blood draws, I feel like a widget. The outcome of cancer treatment has been proven to correlate with the quality of relationship to the "providers. ". So, City Of Hope, excellent care?
