They were a little busy, so I was browsing their sparse selection of retail, and then I heard it. The obnoxious manicurist going into detail about her horrid life in a loud voice of how she broke up with her boyfriend, life, and job. She didn't take a breath. Her poor clients face. I could see it as I sat down and waited for the receptionist to finish with another client of whom was waiting for the manicurist. An employee came in and she chimed in about her personal issues. I am thinking I probably should leave at this point because by now I am tired of hearing about this manicurist and her personal life and the customer service is just a reflection of the owner, especially when the employees proceed to talk badly about him. I just decided to leave and find another spa to spend my money. And I did. Maybe the other services are good, but I am spending my money somewhere where it is appreciated and wanted, because who wants to listen to that when a spa is a place to relax.

My second visit today was after she emailed a promotional offer for clients on her email list for a half priced hour long massage ($40). Really can't beat a deal like that. Erin is so friendly and warm and is extremely skilled at giving massages. I told her about my issues with my upper back/shoulder and she focused on that area a little extra and used just the right amount of pressure throughout the process. She also checked in with me a few times to make sure I was comfortable. Her massage room is so relaxing and clean. She has a heated pad on her massage table, which makes for a wonderfully relaxing experience. She ran a few minutes over from her prior client and gave me the full hour that I had paid for. I plan to return as she also does incentives/discounts for return clients.

Danielle is -- by far -- the best masseuse I have ever encountered in my life. I can't say there is one specific thing that she does. She is just fantastic. She clearly knows her stuff, and how to work on knots or medical issues you might be having. She is really in tune with the human body. The only downside is that she's so good it can be hard to even get an appointment! But I promise you it is 100% worth it. Once you get a massage here, everything else will pale in comparison.

Biomechanics, musculature, pressure points - - I feel 100% confident to give my body over to her and she does heal me. Recently I had a very painful sciatic episode and she really fixed me. Her unique skills combine a mix of shiatsu pressure techniques and deep tissue. There have been a number of times when her use of pressure points felt like acupuncture and tension and pain was simply released. She is kind, thorough, generous, and responsible. I think she is the best masseuse I have ever had. She also has two offices---one in Hamden (on Whitney) and one in Guilford so she is also convenient. Love her and she is worth every cent!

I have had a lash lift probably over a dozen times. This was somethin else. I got a gift card to…read morethis place which is what brought me in. They would not take an apt without my credit card number in their computer, despite the fact that I was paying with a gift card. Offered to give them that number but they would not make the apt without having my credit card number in hand. So back to the lash lift. Yikes. Never once was glue of any kind put onto my eyelids for a lash lift and tint. The procedure began with the provider placing glue strips/tabs all over my eye lids. She did not use a fan to dry down any of the solutions/serums until my eye started burning. In every other lash lift I've had, a fan is alway used to dry down the liquids. At the end of the apt, a tweezer was used to pry the glue strips off my eyelids. When she plucked my eyelid skin, she stopped trying to get anymore glue off. When I left, there was still glue adhered to my eyelids, they were dry and stiff and I could barely blink comfortably which lead me to scraping it off myself. My eyelids are red, swollen and shredded and my eyelashes are stiff. This is unlike anything I've ever experienced before. Would never come back or recommend this place to anyone, even if you have a gift card. Regift it. Or just don't get a lash lift. They should take lash lift off the service menu.
