I miss pathmark more & more every time I visit this shithole. They're unpleasant, not helpful & THEY KICK YOU OUT 10-15 minutes BEFORE they even close!! And they remind you every 2 mins that they're closing. The kicker, the end their announcements with "we reopen tomorrow at 6am FOR YOUR CONVENIENCE"!! Well, what would be convenient for me would be NOT CLOSING at 1145 WHEN YOUR STORE SAYS YOURE OPEN TILL 12!!!! Also, not reminding me every 30 seconds that you're closing annnnd not being nasty during checkout would be pretty convenient also. I guess this is what a monopoly looks like. It sucks! read more

Plain and simple, this is the worst supermarket in the area. In addition to all of the aforementioned items, they insist on having FOX "News" on while you're waiting on their long lines. Add to that the crappy music they play on the PA ( the most recent song I heard was released in 1956). Donna was our cashier and she was unprofessional and degrading to my boyfriend after we were warm and friendly to her. We were purchasing 2 poland spring water bottles after placing 3 in the bottle return and all we wanted was the bottle return discount. She acted like we were lying about it because no tag came out of the machine after we put the bottles in. And gave my boyfriend and attitude and said she is only giving us the discount because she knows my mom. Which made me feel very uncomfortable. She does not know my mom. And we weren't asking for any favors, just what was owed to us for returning bottles. This isn't the first time this has happened. I'm sure some people do lie about returning bottles, but I don't feel it's right to punish us for those people when we were telling the truth. This has happened before and we have brought it up to management who also treated us like we were lying. My boyfriend and I have both been cashiers at grocery stores and we would of never treated people the way we were treated today. Please stop punishing customers for your broken machine. Owned by same people as Hauppage store and has same HORRIBLE coupon policy. No double of internet coupons. Only 2 like internet coupons per transaction, even if you buy 4 items, they will not take 4 coupons like all the other stores will. I live 10 min from this Shoprite, but i continue to drive out to Commack. I spend my money on gas b/c i will save much more in the long run by going to a store that welcomes those that coupon. read more

This Shop rite is no longer a place I would do business with. They will not honor sales on their circular. Manager says it's not the one, customer service claims they are looking at two new circulars and do not see the Marcal toilet tissue. I bring them the circular where it is clear as day and they still will not honor the sale claiming it's an incorrect picture of the item. We moved into the area recently and I have to say this store is so poorly run. Not once but almost every time I've been there, I've seen expired products on shelves. Finding milk with decent dating is almost impossible. Once, I even heard a man complaining to an employee about hummus that was on the shelf that was almost 2 months expired. So I have decided doing my full food shopping there is just not worth it. I will stop in for quick items needed (not requiring dating) but now spend more $$ and shop at King Kullen. Also, in the mornings before I have to be at my office, if I stop in there, they've now installed those self-checkouts and don't have any human-operated registers open because (and this was told to me from the front end manager) it was more important to have their people working the floor to stock the shelves. That screams "we don't care about your time". So then you wait to check out because the self-check outs are the only option and 9 times out of 10 someone needs help because the self-check needs an employees attention. This store just isn't worth the aggravation. read more

Not a fan at all. Poor selection of food, minimal to no vegetarian burgers/proteins. The ones that they do have are outrageously priced. Awful produce selection, a lot of which is not ripe and they are overpriced. I attempted to buy stamps at the register, which I've never had issues with in the past. However, the cashier was super confused when I asked about buying a book of stamps. I then went to the customer service desk, where they "checked" to see if they had them for about 5 minutes or so. Then, when I attempted to purchase with a debit card, they informed me that they are only cash only. Again, weird. I've heard of not being able to purchase them with a credit card, but I've never had an issue with a debit. And it would have been in the same transaction as another purchase but, since my original cashier wasn't sure if they sold them, I was referred to the customer service desk. Overall, I've just had frustrating experiences the few times I've shopped here so I just avoid it altogether and go to the Stop and Shop instead. read more

I do not know why I keep going to this grocery store everytime we go on Sunday they never have the specials that are in the circular. The prices are reasonable and I know where everything is in the store but I usually leave very frustrated. I do like the ShopRite that's in Selden but it is a drive and it takes a lot for hubby to make that extra Drive. It's amazing what we will do for convenience. read more

I have had it with this place. I went to pick up my groceries yesterday at 4 PM. I had that scheduled time. When I got there they told me they have not started my order yet and that it would be another hour. I told them I am not waiting an hour and I don't live around the corner. I told them I wanted the order delivered to my house then. They told me there were no time slots, but the order would be delivered the next day. Well, no delivery today and it is already 6pm. Your home shopping service used to be very good when I started using it 3 1/2 yrs ago. It is not good anymore, your employees are not doing what they are supposed to do(like calling me when the order has not been done yet). It is not my problem that they are "busy" because when you sign up for a specific time, days before you pick it up, the order should be complete. There is no excuse for this at all. Maybe hire more employees or truck drivers. That would be a start. read more

Two weeks ago this store printed a circular offering "any variety" of Thomas' English Muffins in the 12-pack size for an unusually low price. I was ready to buy 3 packs. When I visited the store I found only the original variety in this size. I spoke to Customer Service, a stockroom person, and finally the store manager. The store manager re-read his own circular and [incorrectly] claimed that it pertained only to loaves of bread. Then after I pointed out the wording, he said "this product has been discontinued. The only 12-packs we carry are the Original." I asked for a rain check. He refused, stating the product was discontinued. I emailed and called ShopRite corporate the same day. After telling me she doubted the accuracy of the manager's statement, a staffer promised to get back to me. This did not happen. Yesterday I returned to the store for something else and, sure enough, I found ample supplies of the 12-packs in every variety. I brought 3 packs to Customer Service and asked them to honor the sale price. They told me they could not do so because I did not have a Rain Check. When I related what happened, they told me there was nothing they could do. I again emailed and called ShopRite corporate. They told me "go back to the store and speak to the manager. It is a store issue." I see no reason why I should continue to shop in a business which makes things up in order to avoid honoring advertised prices! read more

Horrible coupon policy is not the correct words, they have a coupon policy on the Wekefern Food Corp website but when you visit the store it is up to the store front manager to MAKE THE CALL and everytime I visit they make it up as they go. I visited Friday 1/20 before work and wanted to take advantage of their Marie Calender frozen pies sale 8 for $10.80 but you must buy 8. No problem with buying eight but when I presented four coupons @.50 off and 4 @.75 off which is written it their policy as correct in bullet #6 you cannot use more than four of the same coupons the store front manager said no and tried to make me use only four of the lower value coupons. THEY NEED TO TEACH THE MANAGERS WHAT THEIR OWN POLICY IS!! As an active member of several coupon clubs in the area and we all talk so if you use coupons DON'T SHOP HERE!! The Shop Rite store , is excellent ! But their home delivery service stinks ! I placed an order, first off there is no communication with the store shopper or the the delivery people, no texts. No chats nothing . Secondly, when they arrived, the ladies only gave me 1 bag , she claimed everything was in there, then she left .I noticed some items missing. but when i called the store they told me 1 bag was left at the store but it couldnt be delivered the same night because they have no way of calling the delivery people. I asked for a credit and the store told me they would do it the next morning and id get an email when its done .No email No credit. I called the store, now they tell me i can only have a credit towards my next order but if i want a credit card refund i have to come to the store to get my refund or get my bag of groceries ! I went to the store and after waiting at customer service I finally get my refund ! I will never order delivery from them again ! Live and Learn .Shipt and InstaCart are much better , you can chat with the shopper in real time and their customer service is on point! read more

This store has the world's worst policy when it comes to coupons. The cashiers take forever to find out if you bought the item. I had one that made me unpack my bags to show her the item specified on the coupon. I had another cashier who had to wait for a supervisor to approve a $1 off coupon from the internet. That took 15 minutes extra. I have never shopped in a store that gives you such a hard time about coupons. I stopped shopping there because it takes too long for the cashiers to approve coupons. This review is about Shop at Home. When they started this program it was wonderful. The service has really gone downhill. My groceries were ready between 12:30 and 1:00. I got here at 1 and sat behind another car. 10 minutes later I watched the driver get out of the car and walk into the store to complain that nobody helped her. 5 seconds later someone comes running out to get her cc and order. She leaves and now here I am at 1:27 still waiting for my order. Young girl comes out and tells me the register is down and that it will be 10 minutes. So it will take have taken me 40 minutes just to pick up my groceries. My husband called and asked "where are you?" I said "picking up my groceries" and he said "you could've went into the store and been done by now and not have paid the $10 fee". Sigh never again. read more

I never review anything but I have to say I feel bad for shop rite Corp because I waited 45 mins for a sandwich tonite . I saw many people with numbers ahead of me leave in disgust there were 5 boys working and nothing was getting done. I didn't see a manager or someone acting in charge . At one point 4 of them went into refrigerator room no one came out for it seemed like an eternity .The boy that helped me made a sigh noise when he asked me twice about my turkey and muenster on a roll. He looked like he didn't know what he was doing. So shoorite you are losing money in your deli Dept and you are paying a lot of payroll for poor unknowledable SLOW service! The customer service at this location is horrible. The owners are on premises but perfer not to interact with the customers even if the customer has a very large problem with management. Their coupons policy for internet coupons varies from cashier to cashier. The cashiers also are not very helpful in picking up heavy items for customers. read more

my shopping card got stuck at the South door exiting. They have these security stopper... what a way to start a business. The company that washes their shopping carts in early Spring uses the fire hydrate on the North side of the parking lot on Clark Street through the fence. Told the manager but he didn't do anything, they continued to steel SCWA water. when they first opened I went to shop there... the bakery had over done/burned bagels and breads. I spoke to the bakery employee there (she's still there)... she says "that's how they are done"... in other words it is what it is, they are selling burned bagels, breads and pasteries. She was rude and acted as though I was bothering her and she didn't care about what I told her. Their regular prices are ok if you pick and choose and pay attention to what you're buying. Not just what's on sale. Cashiers are more interested in their personal conversations than paying attention to their jobs (not talking to customers but paying attention to their jobs). They are really slow. One is nice that has is usually by the 1st or 2nd register, spanish looking lite skin long wavy brown hair and the couple of new ones I've seen lately. Employees on the floor make you feel like you are bothering them if you ask for help. read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. Let's start with the diary department...check the date of anything you buy in this department. I often see expired dates. In fact, last week, Friday, I saw several yogurts that expired November 3, almost a month and a half ago. So, I spoke to the front end manager (book-keeper) and she called Tom the store manager and told him about it. She assured me that it would be taken care of right away. I went back on Tuesday and the expired yogurt were still there! Talked to the other manager named Tom. The owner Harry was there and he was informed as well. I figured that would take care of it. Well, I went there 2 days later and they are still there!! Talked to the second Tom again and he said "Well, I took most of them off the shelf"....REALLY!! Do they not realize that most is not good enough!! Then I stopped in there this morning and walked right out again when I saw the yogurts still there! As far as the meat department, I purchased bad chicken there twice. The first time I just threw it out, the second time I returned it the same day and they gave me a hard time and would only give me store credit!! Needless to say, I don't buy any dairy or meat from there. Now, the deli department, rude workers! They had an item listed on sale and I asked if they were getting it in for the sale. So, the manager said that he would order it for the sale. I went back and other workers asked if I was going to purchase all that they ordered and they would never order that item again because it was a pain in the neck to order. I could go on about the produce department manager, but you get the idea of this store. I actually travel out of the way to go to Waldbaum's now. Stay away from this place! read more

Went to Patchogue shoprite 3 times and was over charged for bin apples. Today I decided to take the sign to the customer service desk and complain. Yes they weren't ringing up correctly so sorry . Once is a mistake , three time is a poorly run store. I asked the checkout person if there would be a problem with returning into the store to check the price of the apples and she said of course not. Well, as I left the customer service desk and left the store through the front exit which is how you leave when you leave the register I almost broke my ankle because my basket got stuck just as I went through the door. A women behind me asked if I had returned to go to the service desk before exiting and when I said yes , she said the basket jams if you do this. An attendant outside the store did something to the wheel and it was freed. So ticked off I called the manager tom he said yes this if to stop shop lifters. Almost twisted my ankle when the basket jammed , all because the store can't program the right price for produce and then they try to trip you going out. If you don't believe this is their policy ask the manager. No other store has ever tried to break my leg on the way out because I go to the service desk, Nice prices good selection but stay away if you need to go back to customer servicef for any reason they will stop you going out the do by stopping your basket and treating like a shoplifter. read more
