Another older mall in Reno It now houses just a few chain stores - CVS, Marshalls, My Favorite Muffin, Tuesday Morning, and a Port of Sub. As well as just a handful of small local shops. It has plenty of easy parking. But the poor tired looking interior and exterior needs some updating. Recently with all our rain, it was dripping inside in several areas. And it's sad to see so many empty store fronts. It's an ok spot if you want to run in and out to one of their major stores. read more

This shopping center is nothing special and it age is showing. I get the feeling while I'm in there that they are over due for a remodel and that maybe the place is lacking proper building maintenance, but even with that I usually always wander from store to store and find something to spend money on! They have a lot of neat and unique shops inside the mall, and a few big stores. Also there is a little Korean lady with a seamstress shop in there, and I've used her a few times and was happy with her work. The giant Shepplers Western Wear store is of course a place I have to at least browse around in, though I have not worn western clothes on a regular basis in a very long time..... but a Texan is just automatically drawn to anywhere that has boots, jeans, and cowboy hats. I have self control though and dont buy any of it!! They also have a background check place which is what first brought me to this little shopping center where you go to get your FBI background check and fingerprints checked and a security check ran for employment and I had to go there for my last job...... In case your wondering I am not wanted by the law and I'm cleared by the FBI and considered a non security risk!! I SWEAR that time I was on America's Most Wanted was all a big mix up :-) hahaha The shopping center is an OK place, it serves its purpose I just think its time to spruce it up. The best part about coming here other then you can get finger printed and not need a bail bondsmen is that when your finished you can just hop across the parking lot and go eat at Dickey's BBQ!!!!! This is an odd little place. It has several nice stores, including a great muffin shop and an interesting little Hawaiian apparel and knickknack shop. I'm there all the time since the pharmacy at CVS is one of the few decent ones in the area. It's an older building, though they have added some newer places on the end of the parking lot. The mall itself is a bit worn down it's nice to be able to find parking and run in and out of a mall when I'm in a hurry. As for stores, though it's not a big place there are quite a few stores and best of all they aren't crowded. Sheplers Muffin Stop CVS Jewelry Store Marshals Photo Studio Smart and Final Staples Radio Shack Red Wing Shoes Coldstone McDonalds Panda Express Dickey's BBQ (yum!) and seasonally a Hickory Farms store plus a few others. They also have a small Christmas parade each year, which is a nice start to the holiday season. I was there yesterday and the guy they have for photos with Santa this year is a great one. He really looks like Santa and he seems good with even the kids who typically are afraid of the big guy. It's a great place to take the kids since there's a Boy Scout tree lot on the corner and it's nice to go see Santa, then pick out the family Christmas tree. read more

Rundown. Uninviting exterior. I usually have to remind myself to lock my car door - here, I park and AUTOMATICALLY lock my car door. Chain stores inside are in disarray. Half of them are closed. An embarrassment. Kinda sad, actually. read more

DUMP! My friends had a store leased in this flea ridden third world market. They kept telling me about Roach and Bug problems that the land lord would never fix. Also their heat and A/C never worked and the owners wanted them to pay for the unit that was 20 years old! We at Pho and found a bug in our soup so i have seen first hand at how bad this place is! Shopper's Square was probably a once thriving mall/shopping center, but it seems to have a rather large amount of vacant store spots inside. I've checked different shops within it over the past decade, both as a local and a visitor: Eternal Board Shop, but it unfortunately closed down recently. Tuesday Morning - seems to be an upscale discount store with lots of housewares. Port of Subs - seems OK, although their meat portions could improve in comparison to some other locations in the franchise. CVS - pretty much just like the rest of them. A bit bigger in size, with extended food, drink, and "As Seen On TV" item sections. Marshall's - has a lot more departments other than just clothing. I've found everything random from luggage to iPhone screen protectors here at discounted rates. Reno Shoe Repair & Alterations - Yes, it's a combination shoe and luggage repair shop! The proprietors are a very nice Asian couple. I've utilized this place a couple of times to get replacement luggage wheels - they do Samsonite, American Tourister, and a few other major brands, but unfortunately don't do the cheapo WalMart brands (TIP: if you're stuck with WalMart luggage and have been on the road for the past year and two months like I have, just keep your receipts, and utilize their exchange policy to the max!) Can't fault anyone due to the nature of the business, but this shop has a strong, knock-you-down odor...a combination of shoe polish, shoe cement, and burning rubber. McDonald's - pretty much like the rest of 'em, seems to have an old-skool architecture with big yellow arches, I'm guessing to model the original McDonald's location. There's some type of cartoon of a man or a chef with a rather gnarly expression on his face that's plastered on the sides of the building, and he's not Ronald McDonald...hmm...as with most other MickeyD's locations in town, there are signs everywhere regarding refills, loitering, the 30 minute dine-in time limit, etc. I did get what I thought was food poisoning here a few years back, but it actually was e coli poisoning that probably resulted from a contaminated tea urn spout. So, those $1 extra large iced teas probably aren't the best option here. The general upkeep of the place seems okay, you'd just think there would be a lot more tenants there, as the location is prime. read more

I am so sad to see this mall in the state it is in. I remember coming here a lot as a child when I would hang out at the old Park Lane Mall (which is no longer here, sadly) across the street. Unfortunately this mall is, with the exception of a sad food court, a Marshall's, Tuesday Morning, and a local toy shop, completely empty. There is still a hodgepodge of locally ran stores that dot the mall but it is mostly empty now, which means there is hardly any foot traffic. I really hope that the downtown and midtown revitalization help this place out because it really is a great spot for stores and deserves to be brought back into its former glory. read more

Fifty years old and shows. The empty storefronts, awful bathrooms and poor flooring pattern really date this place. With the new park lane development coming across the street, potential is on the horizon. With some good stores and a face lift this could be a really cool mall. read more

This use to be a little dump across the street from a bigger dump called the Park Lane Mall. The Mall is no more, torn down and is nothing but a big empty dirty lot. Who know when they will get around to building something there? As far as Shopper's Square, it is no longer a little dump. They have cleaned it up and added to it, or at least added more stores to the end of it and added some other stores in two more buildings. If you can not stand big fat crowds (Like at the Meadowwood Mall) and do not want to drive miles to the Legends or Sierra Mall, then try this place. It has a nice variety of stores and not all of them are chain/franchise types. read more

Cute little mall. I mostly visit for Marshall's, Hart's Fine Jewelry, and Cold Stone. It's definitely not a mall that you go in to walk around or window shop. I go here with a specific purpose in mind then I'm out. It's maintained well though. Although the new parking lot is horribly designed. The engineer that created that is an idiot. read more

You can smell the mold. Just look at the ceiling tiles and you can literally see them dumping water. . . it smells like due and mold. Shocked the health department hasn't shut them down. read more

This mall is rundown and old. I like My Favorite Muffin and Marshalls. The landlord and management is terrible at this mall. They're a bunch of hot heads that like to complain. I wish they would fix up this mall. Too bad Ben Franklins moved out. read more

I always take my son to see Santa at Shopper's Square. I hope he's there this year. Best Santa Ever! Last year he spent several minutes talking with my son and I have the most amazing picture of them. Hoping that when we go see Santa tomorrow that he's there. No long lines also a plus. The mall has lots to offer; good variety. read more

I love shopping at Shopper's Square. I visit CVS once a week for our prescriptions but this isn't the only reason I like to visit Shopper's. 95% of the time I check out Marshall's & Tuesday Morning. With their great deals, I walk out with a new buy every time. While I'm there, I make a snack stop at Port of Subs or My Favorite Muffin. You can never go wrong with a fresh sub or smoothie. Additional places I stop are the USPS, Cold Stone, & The Reno Shoe Repair. read more

I took my kids to see Santa at shoppers square today after calling and asking how busy it was, how the Santa was and if taking my own pictures would be allowed. I was told that the Santa was great, there was no line and if there wasn't anyone waiting, taking my own pictures would be fine. ..... Santa was ok , we were the only ones there and I asked again if taking my own pictures was ok and was told sure, sure go ahead. While taking pics of my kids ( 2 and 5) with Santa the lady asked me not to use the flash and I turned it off. After they got off Santa's lap I was asked to look at the pictures the lady had taken and did. While trying to decide what pose I wanted I was told I need to make my decision, to which I said don't be rude, there is no one waiting and I am making my decision. Right after my reply I asked if I could come back in a bit and was told no so I said ok and thanks and started to walk off, the lady told me then and only then that I had to delete the pictures I had taken and had asked twice if I could take. I told her no and started to walk off. She then told me that I was stealing and that I had to and that I was teaching my children to steal. I told her over my shoulder that I wasn't stealing and that I wasn't teaching my kids to steal..... and then the entire time we were walking away the man with the lady taking pictures was yelling thief, thief, thief and walking out of the area toward us. He was yelling so loud it stared drawling attention to us and the lady finally told him to stop. My kids experience of Santa is now being yelled at and being told their mother is a thief. I immediately calling the shoppers square number to let them know what was going on,.... I talked to the lady that I had talked to the first time I called and told her all of the above to which she said sorry and asked me to say it all again on speaker phone to the manager. I did and the manager told me that she didn't mean to discredit my story but that she was going to get their side of it and call me back. I told her ok and let her know that I would be writing this review of what happened as NO Childs experience of visiting Santa should be negative. As soon as I told her I would be writing a review she got nasty and told me that in that case there was no reason to say anything to them and hung up on me after she quickly said thanks and have a good day, click! So I called back and told them who I was again and that it was wrong to get angry and nasty towards a customer when calling to let them know of a horrible experience they had in their business, that it was simply bad business. That conversation was short and after telling me there was nothing else to discuss the lady said sorry like it personally pained her. I couldn't believe we had this experience visiting Santa and that this is how the management handled it. Had I been asked not to take pictures of told I would be expected to buy a picture if taking my own I would have not done it, but that was not the case, I asked twice and twice was told it was ok. A bit of insight..... these photographers rent year round from shoppers square, they have a photography studio there and do all the special event photos there so beware!!! read more
