I love Shopper's. LOVE. I have no idea why, or when my addiction started but I'm a fan. This one, however, doesn't quite do it for me. I HATE walking in to any store and being bombarded by the cosmetic counter people. And just about every Shopper's out there has their higher end, cosmetic counters right inside the entrance. I get this is likely a strategic sales move, but for me it annoys me. I dig their Optimum points program. Finally a program that is worth being part of. I find their service is consistently blah. Its not terrible but its not great. It is what it is. read more

Awful pharmacy. Not once have they been helpful, correct or polite. They work so slowly and never get prescriptions or even take down information correctly. I have waited HOURS for eye drops that were sitting there the entire time. Post procedure same thing I have waited HOURS for simple prescriptions. Awful pharmacy. Rude staff. Not knowledgeable at all read more

I went to spring garden road shoppers at 10 pm today. Staff was very rude. They are telling each other to do help but no one wants to help. Even one staff was using her phone in the beauty area, when I go near her to ask for help she run away. For 15 mins I was looking for help. Real'y bad service. read more

We went to Shopper's on Lacewood Dr. Halifax on 20 Oct 21 to get a few things plus medication refills. This man was at the back of the store, with his mask going around his chin, talking to a woman. He later went into the pharmacy and set himself to work at a station. Based on his attire, he appeared to me that he might have been the owner/manager. The whole time we waited for our transaction to be completed, he remained within the boundaries of the pharmacy with his mask covering his mouth but not his nose !! And no workers told him to put his mask down. I wanted to but it might have turned ugly. Talk about leading by example that guy. On our way out, we used the self-checkout. The sign said quick & easy... but it was more like complicated, confusing and fructrating. The cashier helped but her PR was next to none. I might switch with Costco for my meds. Totally unsatisfied. read more

The lady at the post office is a rude old woman. The surly one with the short hair. Location is good, but awful an dreadful lady.

Extremely poor service. Prescriptions never ready even with two days notice. Other times prescription renewal is done without request, so insurance is being billed for prescriptions I've not needed. Not worth the aggravation given there are so many other options. Such a shame because I love the location read more

This has to be the worst pharmacy. I will no longer be coming here. The wait for meds is always very long, 15-30min Once you finally do get to the counter either they have not filled your prescription that was dropped off 2 days prior or they have filled your prescription but cannot seem to locate it. While waiting all this time, the above seems to be the case for everyone being served read more

Shoppers Drug Mart in Clayton Park is one of the best I have been in. I could not believe this store. When you walk in, the Cosmetic/Beauty Dept is a separate section and for good reason. Here you will find some of the higher end cosmetic and skin care lines. Smashbox, Lise Watier, Elizabeth Arden, Pure Minerals, Bare Essentials, it is nuts. I could not believe it, Smashbox is awesome, expensive but awesome. The whole thing is displayed very nice and professional. There is about four staff in this section alone to help you. Then you walk through the other entrance and this place is huge and nice. Normally I do not get excited about a Drug Store, but this is not you average store, it is above the rest. The rest of the store measures up the same, it is just a little extra in the class department that your average Shoppers. read more

Shoppers Drug Mart - Pharmacy Near Me - Halifax, Nova Scotia

See all

This particular location is by far one of my favourites in Metro. Not only is it a 24/7 Shoppers Drug Mart, but they sell the best make up in town! I recently went in and was interested, not completely sold, but just interested in purchasing a new eye shadow. I think more than anything, I was just bored. Anyways, I was nicely greeted by 2 different associates as soon as I walked in. I proceeded down the make up section (which is a completely separate section from the rest of Shoppers) and noticed they sold far more of a selection than the other stores around Halifax. I told the associated that I was possibly interested in a shimmery eye shadow, but also told her my eyes were quite sensitive to certain products. She recommended Bare Minerals and I will NEVER buy anything other than this! I am completely in love with my new shadow! I really do enjoy visiting this Shoppers. The staff are friendly, the Pharmacy team is great and it is also located directly next to a walk in medical clinic. It is quite convenient. read more

Shoppers Drug Mart - Pharmacy Near Me - Halifax, Nova Scotia

I wish I could have selected-10 as a review. Absolute horribly customer service. The pharmacy team should get their shit together. Wemt to pick up my prescription at 2:30 in the afternoon, they instru me to come back in an hour. I went back at 7pm (gave them more time) where they told me it would be an hour. When they inconv you in this matter they just look at you and say we're busy like my time is valuable. Bunch of inconsiderate, bumbling idiots. They lack empathy and they all looked like they didn't want to be there, no energy whatsoever like the paying customers were inconveniencing them. I took my prescription back, had it fill at the guardian in Timberlea in 15 minutes. Thus no considerate company will never get my business again. and I will tell anyone who will listen. Horrible service read more

Service at this Shoppers location is top notch! I brought my daughter in here for a rapid strep test. Owner/pharmacist Ghada Gabr is knowledgeable and caring, and completely followed us though from test to physician to prescribed antibiotics. It was a busy day already at the nearby walk in clinic, but with our history of strep related complications (and minimal symptoms) Ghada personally made sure my daughter was seen and treated quickly. Metro walk in clinics are so overrun it can be disheartening to know you suddenly need care and will likely be turned away. Thank you Ghada for taking the time to make sure my daughter received the antibiotics she needed! Ghada even called us at home later that evening to follow up. Exceptional care above and beyond! read more

Mike and I have a mailbox that used to be located in the Lawton's across the street from this Shoppers location. The boxes were located near the front so you didn't have to traipse through the entire store to check your mail. Unfortunately the boxes were moved to Shoppers, so now we have no choice but to enter this awful store. This is the worst Shoppers I have ever visited. In order to enter this store, one is forced to hurry through the stinky fragrance section while holding their breath. There is no other entrance. I truly feel sorry for those with allergies/sensitivities to fragrance who try to shop here. The mailboxes are waaaay in the back corner of the store, so we have to dodge shuffling patrons and protruding displays (and walk 10 miles barefoot in the snow) to reach them. It's a big inconvenience. And forget actually shopping; the surliest, crankiest clerks I have ever encountered work here. They basically ignore you until they grunt out your total. I've vowed to only check our mailbox at this location and go back to Lawton's anytime we need pharmaceuticals. read more

unprofessional. rude. violates confidentiality. gave me another customers medical history printout in stead of mine with customer personal data on every sheet. a joke of a professional organization read more

Shopper's is a bit of a drag. Big box, cookie cutter style layouts give a coldish feeling to the experience from the get go. Stuff.. Lots of stuff in every section. It can kind of get overwhelming (for me at least) when looking for something as simple as hand cream. Do I buy the one for dry skin.. or the one for moisturizing skin? Staff, uninterested in engaging and more so discussing time to punch out.. or who's called in sick and why. It seems Shopper's has somewhat lost it's way. read more

After midnight.. we gonna let it all haaaang out. Ok - you don't really wanna let it all hang out here. If you are in a bit of a pickle - like I was a few months ago around 3am when dust or debris of some sort scratched my eyeball and had me writhing in pain - this place is great. They have a pharmacist on at night so if you need assistance they are quite willing to help and its quiet enough that you can go in wearing jammies if need be (not that I condone jammy pants in public). Also great here is the beauty boutique and the rest of the typical offerings you'd find in a shoppers. read more

I go here a couple of times a month, one to check a mailbox that a community group has and two to pick up a bus pass for my son. This store has come in handy a few times being open 24 hours for items needed in the middle of the night. The store itself is huge. It has the usual drug store fare but also a large grocery section, full postal outlet and a camera/photo section. It is convienent for one-stop shopping read more

This Shoppers is amazing! It has alot of the bigger brands of makeup, like Smashbox, Lise Watier etc. and the prices are pretty much the same as Sephora for those brands. It has a large grocery section, and everything you could need. The only thing about this location I dislike is some of the people who work in the makeup department can be really pushy, or keep going on and on about the same thing when you have made it clear your not interested. read more

I always pop into this location thinking it will "just take a minute". Just get what I need and bounce. This is never the case. I've lived in the area for a year now and a trip to this pharmacy takes anywhere from 30-60min. The staff are hard to find, like leprechauns guarding their sacred alone time. When you do manage to capture one, they roll there eyes and proceed to lecture you on the 2 different locations in the store you can find the item. Yesterday, I stood in line for a full 25 minutes. The lottery addict customer was hogging the till. You know the type, overly friendly to cover up the fact that he's inconveniencing a whole generation of shoppers attempting to get on with their lives. Normally this is solved by the cashier promtly identifying this type of mammal like a museum curator and immediately dispatching reinforcements over the PA. She didn't do it. Like a dumb deer in the headlights she just moved slower. " Is this a bank in the 80's?" I thought to myself. What time portal did I slip into? Avoid the time portal. There is a Lawson's across the street and a better Shoppers down the road. read more

I love Shopper's Drug Mart. Everything you need can be found. And, I love the Shopper's Optimum Points. When you walk in you are in the Cosmetic and Beauty section which is kinda closed off from the rest of the store. This is where you can find higher-end beauty supplies, make-up and perfume. Also, right inside the door there is a counter with excellent staff always waiting to greet you. Often times, I wander this section first and the ladies there offer me suggestions, tips and sometimes apply some products to my face just so I can see how the product works. Further in, you get to the regular part of the store, although it is far from a regular drug store. Isles are filled with well, everything! Shampoo, lotions, the cheaper make-up, electronics (no TV's though, at least not yet) groceries and drugs for all occasions. Yesterday, due to the fact that I can't find any headphones I purchased some here. They were $10 off and do the job just fine. There are always sales and there are always products you can earn more points on. Staff is friendly and attentive although lines can move slowly at times. This is where I head anytime I need something that I know I can find here. read more

The cosmetics staff here is truly dreadful. When asking them questions, you get dirty looks. I always feel intimidated going through this section, especially as a man I feel judged when in their company. I do not recommend this store to anyone. read more

I visit this store at least once a week. The store is always clean and well-stocked, and the staff are friendly and knowledgeable. Besides the regular shopping area, the pharmacy and post office are first rate. #HalifaxAuthor #shoppersdrugmart read more

First of all the pharmacy is not as well equipped as it should be. Example: a standard pharmaceutical item happens to be 60 ml syringes for outpatient introduction of liquid foods, fluids and medication. Do they have any? No. And there are other items not stocked as well. Worst of all, this store is miserably managed when it comes to the number of cashiers assigned during peak periods. Too few, and the few that are assigned are generally too slow yammering away at customers they happen to know, or making endless inquiries about "Optimum Points Card?" (which is one of the most absurd "benefit" programs ever) the only advantage this place has is that it IS open 24 hours / 7 days a week. Which is probably why they can get away with murder, being that their customers in the wee hours or holidays are a captive audience. read more

I used to get my medications here, but the pharmacist I dealt with regularly was regularly surly -- like it was a big inconvenience to actually do her job and just fill my medication. The pharmacy tech I dealt with on one occasion basically told me to sod off when THEIR store screwed up putting my insurance coverage through. I refused to take the medication and got my prescription back. I went up to Costco Pharmacy. My co-pay was 20% and I paid $4 for my medication at Costco, but the price was $30 at Shoppers! The cosmetics counter staff is ok -- friendly enough, but I think it's tacky to have to go through a wall of perfume and scented products (because they always display the fragrances by the entryway) to get to the pharmaceuticals -- especially if you're ill and looking for medication. And there is always only one cashier on cash at any given time. There will be a line up of 8-10+ people, and no other cashier will be called. The exchange policy is terrible too. I went in to exchange a product for the exact same thing but in a different colour. It had been on sale when I got it. They don't do exchanges, only returns, so they returned it and expect me to pay the difference between the sale price and the regular price, even though I had purchased the product when it was on sale. Finally, the clerk in the post office I seemingly always encounter is rude and surly and in no way should be working with the public. She has been openly rude to customers (not only myself or my family, but with customers I've seen while waiting in line) over and over -- huffing and puffing when she has to do anything other than say "I don't know" and rolling her eyes when a question is asked that requires more than a one word answer. And even those one word answers are said in the snottiest tone. Honestly, Shoppers is horrible for marking up their merchandise (tip: go elsewhere and price the same merchandise out and you'll find quite the difference. One product, for example, to name just one, was $6.99 at Shoppers, and $2.99 at Walmart) and has piss-pour customer service from the company right on down to the local stores, and this location is a special shining example of this lack of customer service. There is nothing that would make me want to patronize this location. If I could give it no stars, I would. read more

I don't have a problem with most of the staff, but avoid the 50ish cashier with long blonde hair always tied back. I never fail to get a dirty look and zero service beyond her ringing my items through. If only you could chose no stars! So today I went in to pick up some cough medicine for my wife and also a friend. I go to the prescription counter to ask for help and the lady is less then friendly and says I can find what I am looking for in aisle five. I proceed to the aisle and find numerous cough syrups but with my wife having alergys I did not know what to get. I returned to the counter and asked for help she then told me to wait and would be with me. She then stood at the counter writing and other customers came up and were told the same thing. After about five minutes and never being acknowledged again I decided it wasn't worth the wait since she really didn't seem like she wants to help. I have to say in all my years dealing with shoppers drug mart never have I been treated like this before, every time I have ever asked for help in one of the stores I have always been helped and the people have been very friendly until today. After I left I went across the street to sobeys and the drug store in the store, I went to the counter and was immediately waited on and given the information I needed and left with several products. I guess next time I am on lacewood drive and need anything I will check sobeys first since they are their to help unlike the lady at shoppers... I am not turned off of shoppers but just this location.. read more
