This review is only regarding the flower shop inside Kroger…read more I ordered my daughter's Homecoming corsage with the matching boutonnière to be picked up 9/30/17. I had placed the order the first week of September. Over the course of the following three weeks, a woman from Kroger called me three separate times to confirm the order, each time telling me that she didn't have anything written down as far as color, type of flower, etc. Anxious as to how the flowers were going to turn out, my daughter and I picked them up the morning of Homecoming. When we first saw them, the corsage was pretty, but not Homecoming fancy. It was plain other than the purple wristband and purple ribbon. The boutonnière was a simple white carnation and a stick pin. No color at all. I asked if she could put some kind of purple in it, and she simply put purple glitter on the flower and handed it back to me. I was not impressed at all. The flowers were starting to turn brown at the edges and there really was nothing fancy about it. For $24 I suppose you get what you pay for. I will not be ordering any more flowers from Kroger. Next year, I'll just go to a florist.

I love browsing international markets because you never know what you will come across. The JMart…read morein Dormont is a perfect example of that kind of shopping experience. We went down each aisle and looked through all of the shelves. I was surprised at the volume and variety of international goods they have here. I'm not familiar with the typical cost for most of these items, but the prices seemed fair for the convenience. We were extremely tempted by the unique ice cream options near the entrance and with the bulk candy bins near the register. We didn't feel pressured to buy anything by the staff and were able to comfortably navigate through the packed aisles. The back of the door was a little dingy, but that's where they have the maintenance closet located with a mop bucket and other cleaning supplies. We left with a bag of candy we picked out from the bulk bins for only $2.17 and had a fun time trying each of them.

Most bulk stores require a membership. The store was clean and the employees were friendly. They had different things there that you don't typically see in a regular grocery store. So it was nice to switch it up for a change. Most of the products are in bulk sizes, but you are able to find some standard sizes as well. They don't offer bags, but do have boxes to put your items in after checking out. I had the expectation of saving a bunch of money by going here, but ended up spending the same amount as a typical grocery store trip. I'd definitely recommend this place if you are having a party or special event that you need to supply food for. They did ask if I was purchasing for a business at the checkout so I'm sure there's some sort of benefit with that.

I really like when strangers call me "honey," "sweetie," "darling" or, especially from Spanish…read morespeakers, "mija." (This one has the added benefit of making me feel young.) The woman who rang up my two bottles of wine at this Kroger called me "darling" no fewer than five times during our four-minute interaction, and I loved it. As if we were continuing a conversation we had left off earlier, she also jumped into the middle of a story about a man who was looking for tomato sauce. I didn't follow but just went with it all. By the time I left the grocery store, gripping a bottle of red in each hand like a wino, I felt like I had gained a friend in Wheeling. My Kroger visit happened because I tried to visit a wine store in downtown Wheeling that didn't actually exist. Undeterred, I stopped into Kroger to see what was what in the wine section. They were actually having a huge sale, with many good bottles under $10, so I grabbed a Malbec and a Cabernet. The sale was so good that I wanted to go back and grab a few more bottles, but I resisted. I was visiting from out of town, and there's only so much room in the car for wine. This Kroger is a little hidden from the road, and you need to make some turns to get into the parking lot. But once you get to it, it's a nice little Kroger with nice people.

I deal with the crew there on a daily basis, and I can honestly say I've never had a rude encounter. Every employee is helpful, respectful, and works hard under pressure. Today, a young man named Avery went out of his way to help me out big time, and I really appreciated it. The whole team deserves recognition, and a lot of credit goes to the manager, Pat. He runs a tight ship and clearly leads by example. It shows in the attitude and work ethic of the entire crew. In a time when good customer service can be hard to find, this store consistently gets it right. Thank you all for the hard work -- it truly doesn't go unnoticed. ---
