I really like when strangers call me "honey," "sweetie," "darling" or, especially from Spanish speakers, "mija." (This one has the added benefit of making me feel young.) The woman who rang up my two bottles of wine at this Kroger called me "darling" no fewer than five times during our four-minute interaction, and I loved it. As if we were continuing a conversation we had left off earlier, she also jumped into the middle of a story about a man who was looking for tomato sauce. I didn't follow but just went with it all. By the time I left the grocery store, gripping a bottle of red in each hand like a wino, I felt like I had gained a friend in Wheeling. My Kroger visit happened because I tried to visit a wine store in downtown Wheeling that didn't actually exist. Undeterred, I stopped into Kroger to see what was what in the wine section. They were actually having a huge sale, with many good bottles under $10, so I grabbed a Malbec and a Cabernet. The sale was so good that I wanted to go back and grab a few more bottles, but I resisted. I was visiting from out of town, and there's only so much room in the car for wine. This Kroger is a little hidden from the road, and you need to make some turns to get into the parking lot. But once you get to it, it's a nice little Kroger with nice people. read more

I want to give a big shout-out to the Kroger on Mount DeChantal Road in Wheeling, WV. This store stays extremely busy, and the amount of traffic they handle every day is no joke -- but you would never know it by how professional and kind everyone is. I deal with the crew there on a daily basis, and I can honestly say I've never had a rude encounter. Every employee is helpful, respectful, and works hard under pressure. Today, a young man named Avery went out of his way to help me out big time, and I really appreciated it. The whole team deserves recognition, and a lot of credit goes to the manager, Pat. He runs a tight ship and clearly leads by example. It shows in the attitude and work ethic of the entire crew. I preferred to shop at this store but lately it has just gone down hill. From expired products to wrong tags on the shelf, this store has just continued to disappoint. I recently bought another product that was somehow covered in mold and expired without noticing until I got to work. Ed the awful Uscan worker has the worst attitude and acted as if every ask of him was as if he had to walk across hot coals. He should probably be more back of house than customer facing with his bitter face. The restrooms consistently have a profuse Oder and I'd rather support small businesses than try to talk to someone behind the meat counter again. Do yourself a favor and shop literal anywhere else.. I think I get better service from the 7/11. read more

Too expensive, PIA using their "self-checkout" (they frequently don't work). They do have a somewhat decent array of produce, great deli bacon, but I seldom go there due to their pricing. read more

Lots of good deals that refreshes weekly! Staffs are friendly and quick to respond. Better deals than Wal Mart in terms of grocery. I'm not sure how they can improve because it's the perfect grocery place for me! I don't review supermarkets but this Kroger met beyond my expectation! read more

Ordered a delivery. Never received the order. Used Krogers online chat help. Found out the order was delivered to the wrong address. They refused to have the person go back and deliver the order to the correct house. I asked to speak to a manager. Said they couldn't help me with that. They said all they could do was give me a refund that would be back in my account in 7-10 business days. That's it. So I called the store directly and spoke with a manager at Krogers. She very quickly said it wasn't their responsibility and I needed to call Instacart. No apology nothing. Just rushed me off the phone. Called Instacart. They said sorry and they will make sure that person would not do any future orders of mine. That's it. Both of these companies cared so little about my order. So now I have to wait 7-10 business days just to get my money back. Have no groceries and need to find a new place to shop for groceries because I will never spend a dime there. Zero care for customer satisfaction at all levels. read more

Horrible grocery store. It never has anything in stock, and I usually wait up to months for items to be restocked on the shelves. And now they, as a corporation, are not going to carry gluten free breads. This seems an odd decision, being the rising trend in eating gluten free, and the growing number of people with celiac disease. I've lived several places and been to many grocery stores, and used to compare them to my local Kroger, meaning they didn't meet its great standards. But nowadays, it's the opposite, I compare to how nice any other grocery store is and wish ours was more like it. read more

This is a decent Kroger. They are pet friendly and have a nice cheese selection but their motorized scooters are always broke down.

Polite workers and convenient! Even when they are busy, my prescription is ready by the time I'm done shopping, and I've always been waited on by polite workers. read more

This is a nice and modern Kroger, it was probably built 10 years ago or so. They have a nice gourmet/organic section, decent floral arrangements, a Starbucks stand inside the store, and a Coinstar. Easy access to the interstate. read more

There is not a lot I like about krogers...the selection of products is very limited, the pricing is manipulative and they removed the express lanes in an attempt to force people to use self check out, which i hate. On top of being inconvenient, it takes hours away from local labor. I wish we would get a Trader Joes or Wegmans....and one more thing, Krogers let the local stores deteriorate horribly until Walmart started selling food then suddenly Krogers decided to upgrade their stores. That really pissed me off...in other words, they will do only what is necessary to provide only a basic product to what they treat as an unimportant local market. read more

Store is clean and prices were about average. Not the selection of large stores. Smaller selection of produce and dairy than what I am used to. Store is open till midnight. Isles are a little claustrophobic. read more

Do not place a order at the bakery. My family ordered a cake and they never put it in the computer! I like the rest of the store. I just can't get my mind off of the cake! It's not the first time it's happened either! We've had this problem more than once and so has some other of our family members! I suggest going to respects for your cakes. Same for grocery shopping if it's not to out of the way, Respects has a larger variety. read more

Kroger is all about trying to do more with less. This never works. The self-checkout is a disaster and a dumpster fire. It will continue to be fiercely rejected. Also, Kroger has yet to learn that shelf stocking is done AT NIGHT. Nothing is more annoying than trying to dodge mountains of stock in the isles waiting to be shelved. Please. Do it during off hours. What we need is a new modern super store like Giant Eagle. Riesbeck's is not their competition. It is family and employee owned and on average the prices are too high. Kroger needs stiff competition. read more
