This 5-day camp has a young, friendly staff. They give high 5s & greet kids by name upon arrival, which my 5yo son liked. I was told several times on the last day that DJ (owner) wasn't in the country, as though that was an excuse for the issues I'd experienced with this program, which you'll now learn about: (1)Literally no details on the website except the price. Pymt can be made in person or via PayPal, but there's no place on the PayPal pymt to indicate the child's name or wk you're paying for. The registration form is just a bunch of blanks - no calendar to select wks, no availability, no details about what to bring or what's provided.... I checked their FB page and no details there either. I posted a couple of comments to get my basic ?s answered and someone did finally get back to me. I called the number provided on FB and their banners more than once, but no one answers the phone. This isn't my first rodeo on summer camps, so I was expecting an email to come to us containing all the logistical info the wk before camp started, so I didn't sweat it too much after registering 3 wks ahead. That email never came, but we showed up on the first day, pymt in hand, nonetheless. (2)Here's what you need to know that no one is going to tell you: drop off is 8 AM, give or take. Lunch is provided and it's pizza & pasta, alternating. Chick-fil-a on Fri. No veggies/fruit/snacks provided. There's a water fountain, but you should also send your kid with a water bottle. Your registration includes a shirt, but you won't get it until the last day. Don't count on getting the size you specified in your registration (I ordered a small 6-8, but had to settle for large 14-16). There is no sign-in or sign-out; no ID check. Beats me how they're keeping track of the kids - No one had even seen me before the last day, but I walked out with him at 3PM without a second glance. Pick-up is by 5PM. (3)I'm not using this camp as childcare. I have the luxury of popping in & out, so I peeked in a few times during the camp on various days/times. My kid's age group was ALWAYS sitting against the wall watching other kids play on their iPads while the bigger kids played a bball game...at 10AM, 11AM, 3PM, 3:30PM, 4PM, & 4:30PM. The coaches were sitting there at a table watching. No one was running the floor or doing any "coaching" that I ever saw. I either have really terrible timing to have shown up at exactly all the times the little kids are doing nothing, or we got duped out of $180. I'm not sure why e-devices were even allowed - this is an active camp and e-devices are not allowed at other active camps we've been to. My son claims to have had fun, never complained about going back, but he hasn't been able to tell me a single thing he did besides run & make a shooting gesture with his hands. My kids aren't afraid to tell me when something sucks, and the fact that he was exhausted at pick-up and easy to bed early tells me that he was doing something active at some point during the day. I just don't know what. (4)Another quirky thing about this camp is that it's called Shooting for Success, yet the hoops were never lowered for the little kids. Is it practical to believe that a 5yo has the strength to make a regulation-height basket? Idk. How can he be "shooting for success" if the hoop isn't attainable? Where's the fun in that? (5)On day 4, the AC went out in the gym and you would have thought he'd just come from swimming instead of bball. It was still broken on day 5, but seemed to have improved by 10AM when I went to go check on him. He was sitting against the wall again, sweating, but wanted to stay. I tried calling, and messaging about the problem the previous day and that morning, but no one got back to me until after I'd already been over there again. Suggestions for this camp in the future: knock it down to half-days from 8AM-12PM for kids under 8yo. I didn't expect my kid to be doing bball drills for 9 hrs, but I also didn't expect him to be sitting against the wall watching another kid's iPad every time I checked in. Because it's a full-day active camp, the expectation is that he'll be engaged in activity for most of the day, outside of breaks/lunch. Charge $25/day, provide a snack, come up with some bball/sports related passive activity to kill time between skills, and prohibit e-devices. Lower the hoops so a 5yo can dribble, pass, & maybe even make a basket. Take a min & put some logistics on your website: what to bring, what's provided/prohibited, availability, procedures, etc. Have coaches send an email to parents the week before to introduce themselves and convey camp-specific info. Get a phone that someone will answer. How are parents supposed to get info or discuss issues if you can't be contacted? Make these changes and parents will feel informed & comfortable. You won't need to offer a discount; no one else does. I'm going to go put on my humongous tshirt now. TY!

The sessions were difficult since I hadn't worked out in a few years, but reinforced my thoughts that I needed to get back to the gym and I signed up for a year's worth of their small group training. I love the small class size and while the classes are tough, my body feels better, is definitely toning up and I sleep better too. I love the individual attention the small group classes allow and how they focus on different muscle groups each day. Every trainer I've worked with leading the classes has been excellent....encouraging and pushing me to increase my strength but modifying exercises when needed to avoid injury. I've just completed 2 months at Fit Therapy of Texas and am so happy I joined!

I'm no athlete, yet Kenny manages to work with my limited capabilities to get me stronger and more flexible. After little more than 8 weeks (despite me ignoring diet or aerobic exercise discipline), I managed to lose over 4% body fat working out three times a week with Kenny! I also lost over 2 inches on my hips-- and I'm 57! Now I am encouraged to keep going, to lose the weight I've gained since menopause, and to keep getting stronger and get my full range of motion back. With Kenny's training and expertise I get to benefit from diet recommendations (gum had carbs, who knew?) and yes, even aerobic exercise. I'm going to try jump roping with one that has a counter in the handle. I'm looking forward to being leaner and fitter in 2019.

During the sign up process, I noticed the gym was extremely hot, crowded, and smelled bad. I told them that I was not interested in a membership and they still enrolled me. I had to change my account number, get a new debit card, AND dispute the transaction! They are fraudsters and engage in terrible business practices & treat potential clients horribly.

I'm a personal trainer who has spent the last 6-7 years in and out of varying gyms. This is one of…read moremy favorites. I've tried warehouse gyms, big box gyms, powerlifting gyms, bodybuilding gyms, you name it. This gym is great for a lot of reasons and could also be improved in a few ways. It's not my regular gym- I drop in a few times a year and pay for the week pass. I've never had an issue doing this or being charged extra from the week pass. Cons: locker rooms need better upkeep, STRONG turf smell, music too loud occasionally (like so loud I can't hear my own music in my earbuds), staff is hard to track down, some rude staff (literally just 1 girl but the rest of the staff has been nothing but super friendly and nice so I'm willing to write it off as a bad day for her). Pros: lighting is awesome, black walls and murals are awesome, they have posing rooms if you're into bodybuilding, TONS of free weights, powerlifting plates, cable towers, squat racks, benches, and varying machines. Extra equipment (like mats, med balls, kbs, etc.) are lacking, but they have enough to do what you need to do. Great gym if you're into powerlifting or bodybuilding especially. They have a supplement store and you can get snacks, shakes, drinks, etc. Prices are also really good; you could easily spend the same amount on a commercial gym that has 2 squat racks and 200 treadmills. The community there is SO nice as well. The biggest pro is that they're not insanely busy like most gyms I've gone to. I can always find a squat rack or cable tower and have never had to wait. In short, it's a gym worth trying. If it's not your thing, it's not your thing, but it's definitely one of the better gyms I've been to and I'll be coming back every year when I'm in town. P.S. For what it's worth, I've tried most of the gyms in SA and I prefer M.O. by a mile.

I get inspired by these sort of body building gyms, as they are such a nice break from the CorePowers and Equinoxes of the world that I normally frequent... I'm basic af, I know. All the plates are iron, industrial fans cooling the place, huge mirrors everywhere, it's open 24 hours, machines you won't see anywhere else, and patrons are about their business and just EATING weights. I was probably the smallest person in here by 80 lbs, but they couldn't have been more welcoming. I paid a $20 day pass twice, and what I loved was they didn't try to sell me on joining the gym. I'm so sick of being upsold in literally every other area of my life. Something about handing that crispy $20 bill, signing a waiver I didn't read, and being able to have free reign of the gym was so refreshing. You go to a 24 Hour Fitness and get a day pass, it will take you 20 minutes of small talk and having to fake like you're considering joining before you can get to working out. 3 days later, my quads are STILL sore from one of those gnarly machines that I have never seen before, and will likely never see again. Sore in a good way though... THANK YOU MUSCLE FACTORY I LOVE Y'ALL! IG @jnov_ Tiktok @jnov_reviews

There are not enough good things in the English language to say about Tina Gordon's RxPhysique…read moreprograms. I started out 2 months ago as an online lifestyle client, having no formal training before, and since the process began, I have decided to not only compete, but to sign on for continued training post competition, and compete in the spring. My first competition is 24 weeks away. I have lost 18 lbs in 2 months, weight I didn't know I was holding, I have not cut out all of the carbs in my diet(in fact I'm eating whole nutrient dense foods now than before). My training plan and cardio plan is supported by Tina herself as well as an in person coach in San Antonio weekly to tweak my movements. For a long time I have struggled with body dysmorphia (as lots of young women do) and have bounced between physically demanding sports. For this reason, I do not count calories or weigh myself daily, Tina has programmed my diet in a way that gives her full control. I eat what she tells me, and work at the intensity level she asks of me. I cannot explain the amount of freedom and confidence that comes with hiring someone who knows your goals and gets you there safely. It's like boxing up my self criticism and giving it to someone else to handle. However, this program is tough(one of the most mentally and physically demanding things I have ever done), and it requires honesty and transparency on all counts. Tina is THERE FOR YOU, even through deviations. If you are serious about transforming your body and your perspective- I recommend her for it all. Through her move to California she has not ceased communication or attentiveness. She is passionate, serious about her work, critical of movements and form, knowledge of all things relevant to competing, and can help you hit new goals.

Two days after payment cleared, she announced she was leaving San Antonio for California within a month. That month turned into a few weeks. Initially she tried to persuade me and my workout partner to work with her online. After requesting refund instead, I was eventually shorted one session. Tina has ignored my communication to review her schedule and my swipe-in days to reconcile the days she left early and the day she overslept and did not show. In other words, she's just ignoring me. I feel she was deceptive from the beginning. She knew she was leaving when she offered us the dual workout plan and used our payments to fund her relocation. My recommendation is to use someone with integrity.
