Toasting for birthday dinner - Two people are clinking glasses of rosé wine at a restaurant table, with a black plate, fork, and napkin in the foreground. The background shows other diners, including children, seated at tables in a modern dining area. The setting appears casual and social, with a focus on the wine toast.

It all started of well, ambiance was perfect for a birthday dinner. We got our drinks and wines glasses BYOB! Placed orders for food. 5 guest and 4 of the 5 had the steak! We each awaken to either diarrhea, stomach and or chest pains. I had already been turned off when the cook place my medium steak on my girlfriend's plate. He had to remove it from her plate to cook it more because she requested med well. That was a complete turn off while he was still cooking others food. After this experience I would never visit again.

Our awesome fire volcano!! - The image shows a teppanyaki chef igniting flames on a flat-top grill, with a stack of onion rings and mixed vegetables on the surface. The restaurant interior includes dark walls, wooden accents, and a few patrons in the background. The flames are prominent, indicating a cooking performance, with various sauces in the foreground.

Our chef Javier was fantastic! We loved the show (juggling fire batons and such much more than we have in past years) and we had a lovely conversation on top of it which made our night. Our food was excellent as well and he was sure to check on preferences and dietary restrictions. He also advised on steak cooking temperature which was very helpful!! We have not been here for a while, due to past services, but we will be back to see Javier!! Amazing food!

I visited Shogun 3 for my dad's birthday with a group of 7. Dad was excited for his first hibachi show, and we were happily watching the older chef cook for 2 other tables. While the younger hibachi chef cooked extremely quickly, we were disappointed by the lack of entertainment and interaction - no food toss into mouth, no cool sound when peppering the food, no egg juggling, the onion fire lasted only a second, any any of the normal hibachi gimmicks we saw at the other tables. I have personally been to 8 hibachi restaurants and this is my first unhappy experience. It felt incredibly rushed and was just him cooking on a flat top. *One order our, Shogun Special (Steak, Shrimp, & Chicken) was completely missed. The waitress wrote it down correctly on the slip. After i pointed out we were missing an order, chicken and 3 shrimps were added. After everyone received their meals, I realized the steak was missing for the Shogun Special & had to point this out again. Thid should not be on the customer to noticTowards the end, my brother's steak was cooked after we had mostly finished eating, causing him to box his food. The show experience fell disappointingly short for the $306 (w. Tip) we spent, and we were hoping for more flair and fun in the performance. On a second note, we weren't all full even with a $19 sushi combo to help fill up 3 people.

Staff was friendly and we were seated right away. Hibachi was good and the cook who was making the food was very energetic and generous. Will definitely come back.

Food, 5, service 5, ambiance 5! Highly recommend . Not sure why I have not tried Shogun prior, looking forward to going back!

They no longer do half priced sushi night. Dropping them down a star for that, the reason why their 'ok' sushi was so lovable was because of the weekly deal. Now, it's just ok

    Kani Salad.

$8.00 for this teaspoon of Kani Salad... also very bland. I get the price of food has gone up all around but this is absolutely ridiculous. Won't be back.

Greasy...soggy...salted beyond belief and they had a funky taste that's not usually synonymous with "fresh" seafood! It wasn't a question of "if" the shrimp had gone bad...but rather "when" the shrimp went bad. Chicken Fried Rice was bland and uninspired. If you can look beyond the smoky taste of burned oil...there is little else adding flavor or character to the dish. "Fortunately"...I had unused dipping sauce for the inedible spring rolls that I was able to use to " resurrect" this deceased rice dish. Singapore noddles are "OK"... if you like your veggies void of any fresh crunch. The shrimp in the noodles were VERY "shrimpy" tasting...which was an indication that they were in need of a proper burial. I didn't eat them... and would have given them to my dog...but I really love him. Both the rice and noodles would have benefitted from a little salt, but clearly it was all used up in the spring rolls!! Oh the irony. My father always told me that "some lessons in life cost more than others". I should have known better than to go back to the scene of a previous (food) crime, but...I didn't. This was an over priced $37 dollar lesson. I'm just hope that it doesn't come with a side of food poisoning!

They are extremely nice over the phone, upbeat and trying so hard to provide wonderful service and to simply make your day. This place has all the hallmarks of the most wonderful little Chinese/Japanese corner spot, family-owned, and small, where a repeat customer would eventually become known and their voice and face recognized immediately whenever they call or show up. All the photos and other reviews that steered me here had primed me for an amazing experience and my hopes were so high and I was ready to finally find THAT place that I could order from consistently for delicious, quality, fresh sushi, close-by.....but alas! This was sadly not the case. Everything I have said about the staff and the place are 100% outstanding, and maybe I was here on an off-day. Or maybe something was wrong or it was busy. I have no way of knowing. I will definitely try here again and change my opinion if I am nearby in the future. However, my order of chirashi was simply just one of the saddest and disappointing that I have ever had. The fish was not fresh, or at least not what I would consider fresh enough for sashimi cuts, there was barely any variety or color pop, no vegetable or greenery to offset, and I could not detect any rice dressing at all for the rice base for everything to sit on. Part of chirashi is the presentation, and while that's not a large part of the flavor, it's a large part of the impression. It did not look good, and very unfortunately, it did not taste great either. It was bland, extremely fishy (which I have no problem with), which denotes a lack of freshness, and had a slimy layer to it which it should not. I do feel like I should have ordered something else, like something in a previous photo or review, and that part is my mistake, but if it's an offered menu item, I would expect it to be just as good as their other dishes. The miso soup though, was great! Good flavor, tons of seaweed, and big soft chunks of tofu, which I love. Eventually, I will try Qing Mu again, possibly when the sushi itch strikes again and I don't feel like traveling far. Or possibly for traditional Chinese-American dishes. Who knows? I don't ever want my experience to end with a place that is so wonderful and inviting and caring about their customers to be such a disappointment when they obviously care so much about those they serve. If you are in the Havertown area, check them out, you may have a very different experience, but for now, definitely stay away from the chirashi.
