Ricky was very nice today, the shop has mixture of types of items. There was a old school stereo which was playing great music. I'm getting a purse repaired I visited several shops no one to repair my purse . I will definitely return very soon....

When you walk in the door. This place is a mess.

DON'T GO HERE! This place is the worst!! I dropped off a backpack at the end of September to have zippers fixed. The owner said it would be done in a week. I went back two weeks later and he said it wasn't done to come back on Monday. I came back and it still wasn't done. Again, he said come back in a week. I just picked it up today, almost 6 weeks from the day I dropped it off. I don't like being lied to or strung along. He should of told be to begin with that it would be 4 weeks. I would have chosen to either leave it or go somewhere else. Now the damage has been done and I will never use his services again. There are several other shoe repair places in Long Beach and Lakewood. Use any of them except this guy. The price was good and my zippers are fixed, but not worth the hassle and multiple visits.

Unfortunately, the service requested was half done. I ended up having to take my shoes back after already paying to have the work completed.

I came here to get my shoes fixed. I came the same day I needed them and on a weekend, and the owner was happy to help.

Looking to have a pair of vintage boots shined, strings replaced and broken in...can i get a price?

How much to resole vibram-soled boots?

I'm curious whether Shoe Doctor dyes leather boots? If so then what would dying a pair of Tony Lama cowboy boots cost approximately. The boots are a brownish orangish and I'd like to get them dyed black. Thanks so much - brian

I had a pair of leather flats dyed for $20. Maybe that will give you an idea of pricing.

I ended up making the stain worse and thought the shoes were ruined. I was honestly pretty upset and wasn't sure what to do, so I checked Yelp and found Shoe Wiz. When I walked in, I was greeted by a gentleman named Sam. He was friendly, straightforward, and told me it would cost $35 to restore the shoes. He explained that he would repaint them and add a protective seal so they'd be more resistant to damage in the future. That sounded fair, so I left them with him. A week later, I went back to pick them up and I was genuinely impressed they looked completely brand new. I couldn't even tell where the repairs had been done. In fact, I was so impressed that I literally took off the older pair of UGGs I was wearing (they're about 3-4 years old) and asked if he could restore those too. He did, and they came out looking amazing as well. I've already told him I'll be bringing in my gray pair next, which are 5-6 years old, because at this point I fully trust his work. Sam is patient, kind, and clearly passionate about what he does. He even gave my daughter a lollipop and offered me some chocolate while we talked. The walls of his shop are filled with items he's repaired, and you can tell he takes real pride in every project. His attention to detail is excellent. Thank you so much, Mr. Sam you saved my UGGs, and I'll definitely be back.

Tennis-Moc's Shoe Store is located in a strip mall shared with Straw Hat Pizza and Starbucks. The drive from Norwalk was an easy one, and parking was ample. There's only one Tenni-Moc's, so they're truly one of a kind, and they're an absolute amazing small business! My oldest son needed sturdy, non-slip shoes for work, and he found them here. He spoke with Spencer over the phone to confirm if they had the size and style he wanted, and they did! When we walked into the store we were immediately and happily greeted by Alexandra (I think that's her name...), but she had a messy top bun and wore Danskos. They'd already set aside the shoes that my son requested, and all he needed to do was try them on. I took a quick walk thru the store, and while it's a small store, it's very well stocked with New Balances, Danskos, Birkenstocks, support stockings, fuzzy socks, beanies, purses, and more! It's very welcoming and the vibes are chill. I feel that if they don't have what you want, they would have very close seconds, or they would be very convincing to get you to buy something that you wouldn't have thought of buying. I told my son that he needs to bring his dad with him next time around because I'm sure there's something orthotic or support-something or other that he would want to buy. They have an IG account, @Tennimocs, and they're promoting their first livestream, a contest, and a pop-up. If there's ever a small business that you'd want to support, it should be Tenni-Moc's Shoe Store. I wish I'd known about them earlier, I would have bought my golden Danskos from them because I saw that they had them.

I had seen good reviews online so I decided to take two pairs of Yves Saint Laurent boots there to get re-soled. I took them there like the 21st. I was told to come back today the 26th in the afternoon... Well friends, I walked in there and the place looked like a bomb had gone off. Everything was in trash bags and there was a garbage hauler out front. They were going to close down the shop and take everybody's shoes So I told them I'm not leaving until you find my boots. One pair was found pretty quickly and she kept trying to get me to come back the next day and I said no, you won't be here. And I literally waited an hour until he found my second pair of boots . They were half fixed, and the craftsmanship was horrible. I'm gonna have to take them somewhere else to get fixed, but I'm just so grateful to have my shoes back because they are so expensive. On one hand, I feel really badly for these people because clearly they're on very hard times on the other hand, you can't do this. You can't just close your business and leave a bunch of people stranded . I feel sorry for everyone who's gonna lose belongings they care about.

BEWARE: Overcharged me and under delivered…read more Brought my favorite lace up boots to be repaired. The tongue was literally disintegrating. Charge me $120. Picked them up about two weeks later (that is not how long he said it would take - I was traveling and requesting the later pick up). He requires payment in advance, in full - this was a huge red flag to me, but because of the positive reviews, I let it go. Arrived to pick up the boots and the lace holes had not been cut in. So he did it while I waited. Turns out, the holes were too small for the laces. He damaged the end of the lace trying to get them through. Said I just need to work it a bit more but if it doesn't go through, he'd have to replace the metal rivets and charge me more. He was eventually able to get the lace through one of the holes and sent me home to do the rest. When I asked about the damaged lace, he told me I could tape it up or buy new laces. I got home to finish the job. Had to use my husband's tools to try and make the holes a little bigger. As a result, some of the leather started cracking off - is leather supposed to do that?? I'm so angry. In fairness, I did not call the owner back to give him a chance to fix this mess. I don't trust he would actually do it. I debated a long time before leaving this review. I don't like leaving such negative reviews without giving the owner an opportunity to make right. But, in this case, it didn't seem that he cared that the job was not done well from the outset - why should he do anything; he already has the money. Then saying he would have to charge me more so I could lace the boots? Seeing the damaged laces and telling me to just tape it or buy new laces? This is not someone who cares about the end product. I did buy new laces but the holes were too small for the these as well. I tried two with the smallest diameters I could find. It wasn't the laces. I recently moved to the area. My prior shoe repair person charges far less and would NEVER return the shoes to me looking as these did. He took pride in his work. The shoes always came back looking brand new. And, while not cheap (taking care of good shoes is not cheap), I never paid as much as I did at San Pedro Shoe and Handbag. Sadly, he's an hours drive, one way. May just do that in the future though. About the only positive with this entire experience is that parking is quite ample. Just thought I should warn you. Would strongly recommend AGAINST paying in advance.
