I have not purchased my wedding gown yet. In the search of my wedding gown, I have visited the…read moreSunset Hills location at St Louis and the one located in Columbia, MO. The service at Sunset hills was nice and the lady was helpful. She brought me dresses that I do like a lot. Really great recommendations. She paid attention to details but she was very busy at the time because the store traffic was super high, compared to the Columbia location. It was unfortunate that I did not ask her to put one of the dresses that I really like in the computer system, and that was the main reason I returned to the Columbia store today to look for that specific dress. Lets called that "the forgotten dress." I don't blame her because I think she was serving at least 2 brides at the time. She was as helpful as she could possibly be. At the Columbia store, I REALLY appreciate Shania and her team's (including maybe her manager, a seamstress and a Vietnamese coworker) service and effort to find me "the forgotten dress." It was my second visit to the Columbia store in a month. No one was pushy there! They are all sincere and helpful. Great recommendations and advice from Shania and the seamstress. As I am very petite, Shania helped me with every single dress that I put on. She let me took my time and gave me useful advice. As I am doing a destination wedding, they also offer me tips to "protect" my dress during my travel. She also took pictures of me in the dresses that I tried on, so that I can share with my family members abroad. She is friendly and kind. I was amazed by how they try to identify "the forgotten dress." I did not have the picture of the dress with me initially, so I was merely describing it. They looked up online and they looked through their catalogs. They checked with me back and forth. They could not find it. Later, I was able to let them see me in that dress but the resolution was not great as it was a cellphone picture. Can't really see the lace and details, except the shape. Too bad. However, Shania said she would call the Sunset Hills store and see if she could ask the lady at Sunset Hills who helped me. She also checked what the mannequins were wearing as I suggested it could be a dress on the mannequins. As Shania was on the phone with staff at Sunset Hills, the Vietnamese lady continued to look on the website to try to identify the dress. This is what I called above and beyond services. This is also great team work. They found it for me. I feel very taken care of at the Columbia location. Now I have found the forgotten dress and I have left two dresses from the same designer to choose from. Big decision to be made. The reason I am giving this review a 4 out of 5 is that the Columbia store does not carry Vera Wang and Melissa Sweet's collections, which are designers that I like. If I need to try on these designers' dresses, I will need to order them first. This is an inconvenient. I hope this review will help them to get some of Vera and Melissa's design. Keep up the good work.

I have had many less than thrilling experiences at this particular David's Bridal in past years,…read morebut my recent experience lead me to leave a review in hopes of others avoiding my same predicament. I purchased a bridesmaid dress a few months ago at this DB and had scheduled an appointment for alterations being a couple months away from the wedding. I have had alterations done at this location previously and remember them being a bit pricy, but not outrageous. As the seamstress evaluated the fit and rattled off the cost to bring up the shoulder straps, bring in the bodice and hem the skirt, she added up the total cost to be $270. When she asked if that sounded alright, I had to try hard not to laugh out loud. That is more than twice what I paid for the dress itself ($134). How could it be more expensive to take fabric out of a dress than it is to create it?? The store manager offered to order the same dress in a smaller size, but stated I would have to pay to put a rush on the alterations at that point, meaning I wouldn't be saving any money after all. If you are needing alterations done, I suggest you find a local shop that can do a hem for less that $70. And yes, that is what a simple hem will cost you at David's Bridal.
