The site has all kinds of early American artifacts (including American Indian artifacts) all dating from 1832 and earlier. The Agency House is fully restored to its 1832 era and displays beautiful antiques. The tours are very interesting and informative for adults and children. I never knew that Juliette Kinzie was the grandmother of Juliette Gordon Low and that the Girl Scouts traditions all began with stories from this site! The visitors center has a terrific gift shop where you can buy souvenirs, authentic Indian crafts, early maps, Girl Scout gifts, and excellent history books. We also walked the gorgeous 1.2 mile trail through the property that has a self-guided tour of various ecosystems and explains historical accounts. I felt like we were back in time and could imagine how the settlers felt traveling across the prairie! Not a soul in sight - and wildlife everywhere. Great for birding enthusiasts. This site has a little for everyone!! Must see!

Our family had five sites reserved for the weekend, June 25th through the 28th. when we made our…read morereservations, the sites were pictured as all grass with a tree or 2 on them, as well as a fire ring, surrounded by grass. When we arrived, we found that our sites had been undergoing construction. There was a small patch of grass left, but the rest was gravel, not to mention the large deep ditch, surrounded by yellow caution tape. There was a 6 to 8 inch drop off from the grass to the gravel which was irregular and quite dangerous, especially in the middle of the night. Many of us complained but a discount was refused, site changes were refused, no compensation was offered for what we paid for most definitely being not as described in the advertising on their website. Since we had no other alternatives and other plans for the weekend that could not be changed, we decided to stay. None of us will ever return to this campgrounds, and will make as many people that we can aware of the uncomfortable and dangerous situation that was forced on us with no consideration at all

Pretty much had the pool to ourselves on Thursday, but it was pretty busy around noon on Saturday, which is to be expected. We spent about 12 hours total in the pool area throughout our day. They also have a basketball court and a volleyball court, mini golf (for an additional charge) and a small arcade area. They also have two bars and food available to purchase. You can eat there, get it to go, or have it delivered to your campsite. Drinks were priced cheaper than they are at our local bar back home. They also had different activities going on throughout the weekend. If you download their app, they will send you a notification 15 minutes before any events. Campsites are pretty close together, but we enjoy meeting new people, so that wasn't an issue for us. Also, some people want a quiet campground, and I wouldn't say this is necessarily one. There were a lot of different groups of people hanging out pretty late and having a good time. Again, not an issue for us, but something that should be noted for those that want quiet campsite. We did not use the showers or bathroom facilities often, but they were pretty clean anytime I went in there. Campground is also animal friendly. We had our dog and he enjoyed the dog run area they have. Overall, we were very satisfied with our stay. Staff was friendly and helpful.

My son has become Mr Alligstor almost overnight (well it started maybe around May of this year and…read moreapart from his normal video gaming, Alligators -- and to a lesser extent Crocs and Caimans) are his jam. He had been watching science-related videos, reading books, talking alligators and crocs nonstop. We were planning a mini father son trip and I wasn't sure where to go, when to my surprise I saw that Wis Dells had an alligator place! So we actually headed up there from NW Chicagoland for Alligators first...and boy this did not disappoint. The place was surprisingly very clean and not smelly at all--I had a college roommate who bought an old Used car that had a garter snake in it and he kept it and boy did it smell...so this is no small feat to keep it clean with this many reptiles. It was the first thing we did in Wis Dells and my son was there a good couple of hours (entrance was about $20 for us to visit and then you can buy food to feed -- meat packets were very reasonably priced), and also feed alligators, pythons, snapping turtles, alligator snapping turtles, caimans live mice and/or rats depending what the animals needed that day. Thankfully the owners -- lovely people who have been there nearly 30 years -- feed the live animals we don't have to touch them. I'll admit that left me a little squirmish but my son was in heaven. We were there about 2 hours (most folks I imagine last about 30 mins) and my son was really excited to see the animals -- behind closed glass tanks. They have 14 or so gators in the big tank right as you walk in, have an albino alligator (large one too) in a separate tank behind. Several pythons- including a jumbo yellow scary python and one a little smaller next to it. They have turtles, some smaller snakes, and some toads etc in other cages.... I figured we saw all we could ever see that first 2 hours as it isn't the biggest place, but my son really wanted to go back before we left, so we went back 2 days later and I don't know how we missed it on day 1, but they had a photo opportunity to hold an alligator (its mouth is taped for safety) and that was the thrill of my sons life! He's been telling everyone about that post our visit. Overall it was impressive how clean and not smelly the place is, showing the care the handlers/owners take to these animals. One bit of advice, while they have some very brief blurbs on some (not all) of the animals, I'd recommend adding more complete blurbs in the animals like a traditional zoo would. They also have an opportunity to buy alligators (which presumably is legal in Wisconsin) and that is something I'd never recommend -- Thankfully they aren't cheap so kids likely couldn't do that without a parent being involved:). All in all across 2 visits we were there 3.5 or so hours and my son had the absolute best time of his life. I can't thank them enough and they were super great to him answering his questions, etc (especially since on the second visit they were pretty darn crowded but they gave my so. Extra special treatment :) ). A wonderful experience-- and a reminder of the things we parents do for our kids lol - as Id never be there if it was t for my son, let alone be there twice! We will be back too next time we go to the Dells (I hadn't been to the Dells in over 20 years--first time as an adult, and I hadn't a great time, but this was amongst our biggest highlight of the trip)

This campground was amazing! We were looking at renting a cabin for our family of 5 and our dog at…read morea campground. After weeks of looking at tons of campgrounds within 2 hours of our house, pride of america seemed like the best deal. We stayed sunday-wednesday in a "RCT" (2bdrm rental cottage with a bathroom) it was more than enough room for all 5 of us and the dog. There was 2 air conditioner units which kept it nice and cool day and night. Even with it not being a weekend there was a ton of kids for our kids to play with, and obviously not as many activities as on the weekends, but still so much to do. Everything is super affordable, train rides are $1 bike rentals where $10 and golf carts for $50ish for 24 hours. I made sure we had a bathroom because I remember years ago what bathroom camp grounds looked like. These were so nice and clean shower rooms looked super nice as well. Our dog loved the dog park. We will definitely be back
