We started with maki and Yasai - tempura. The sushi fell apart, as the rice was dry, the portion size was ridiculous. The tempura tasted absolutely neutral and were extremely poor value. We didn't even finish our mains: the Yasai Curry, which was just two big pieces of potatoes and 2 pieces of carrot threw together in an absolutely flavorless "curry" broth and a pile of dry rice. The Tantanmen was just equally lacking flavor. It literally tasted like water, the spinach was just some deep frozen stuff, the minced beef didn't taste like beef at all. All that disappointment for a total of 40€. I think you're better off going taking that money anywhere else, literally. How this place still exists is beyond me

Been meaning to try this place for some time now and we finally made it here. Located on a busy…read morecorner all by itself I expected it to be noisy but, it was quiet and nice inside. The decor is a bit dated and I was expecting cheap Japanese but, it's not. I am guessing if you did takeaway it probably is and or if you did the izakaya dishes its ok. Sushi however is reasonably expensive here. For me this is more like a 3.5 stars but happy to give it a 4. The positives here is the wide ranging menu, excellent starters, good selection of sake and good vegetarian options. The negatives were slow service (it was busy and there was one waiter), sashimi was good but not special and the waiter did not understand what we wanted and, ended up bringing us 4 desserts instead of two. My starter of eggplant in miso sauce was delicious and I loved it. I was hoping for great things after this dish. There were quite a few Japanese people eating here and that set the expectation even higher. My sashimi arrived last after the other two people on my table had finished eating and looked fabulous. The squid and prawn was excellent but the salmon and tuna was not so good. Over all the sashimi was a 3 star for me. The tuna was not melt in your mouth kind, neither was the salmon. The dessert was similarly mixed. We ordered two desserts however, he ended up bringing us four, and I am not sure why. He charged us for four as well. The redbean ball was delicious and I loved it. The green tea ice cream and the balls were both somewhat disappointing. I will definitely come back here and try the various bits of the menu. It's a good choice in the area. I would still prefer other places for Sashimi. I can't wait till they have zarusoba, a cold noodle dish and, one of my favourite summer time Japanese dishes.

Loved this Sushi place in Munich that I found on yelp.com. After a long week of eating lots of…read moreBavarian food, I was craving some sushi. Sushi Sano is a great spot not that far from the Marienplatz area. Great selection of rolls and dishes. I had an assortment of rolls and sushi as well as some dishes such as gyoza and kimchi. Great place! Only complaint (not really a complaint) I would add is that the sushi rice there was just OK. Not as good as the kind in sushi spots back home in Los Angeles.

Bruhs........... Tell me tell you about this place! Ever…read moresince my lil bro moved to Germany he had told me that he hadn't had awesome sushi like in the States. So it was my mission to find some killer sushi in Munich while I visited him in August. Let me tell yah, this place right here... is a work of art! Right from the gecko the moment you walk in, you feel the noise and ambiance of the place. You look at the decor and sitting and you know you're in for a treat. So me and him got down to business, we order a bunch of nigiri and some udon because it was a chilly day in Munich and we need the warm brothy soup they had. The Sake (lachs, salmon) was top notch and the Hamachi (yellowtail) was okay. I tried their Anago which was good and same with the Unagi. All in all this place lived up to the hype and my lil bro now has a sushi place he can call home in Munich . I know for sure I'll be back and the sushi chefs better have a whole salmon for us because they didn't think me and my lil bro could have taken down 30 pcs of salmon in one sitting.

The shrimp was good my husband liked it more then I did but that's probably because it's now what I thought I ordered. The menu mentioned rice covered shrimp with a mango sauce. It's basically a fancy way of charging you $10 for shrimp tempura. Lastly my drink was so so. I would go back to order a big bowl of soup and a coke and leave the rest on the menu.

The food was excellent. I think the sushi was probably the best I have had in Munich so far. I really liked the spicy tuna roll. It had a unique and fresh flavor to it that I wasn't expecting. The ebi tempura Maki wasn't my favorite. It felt like there was way to much tempura and very little shrimp in the roll. A friend also got the shrimp dumpling (ha gao) as an appetizer and although they were physically made well they were not as good they are supposed to be. I really enjoyed the food but also have to say that it was surprisingly expensive. I would go again but would pick more carefully what I order.
