The mechanics there are very good. Happy is great mechanic, he knows what he is doing and taking about. He will explain everything and only do what is necessary and won't charge extra. He checked out a used vehicle I purchased and told me everything about it. What needed repairs right away. Very good and trustworthy shop. read more

Excellent service provided and reasonable charge. I really recommend to others. The new owner is polite. I really go for future service.

I recommend these guys, I had my Nissan Sentra in for a starter motor replacement. They did a good job and their prices for parts and labor was very fair compared to what I had been quoted by other similar car repair shops in the area. read more

The best auto repair shop I've ever been to!! Took my moms car in for engine light, they did a free diagnostic and fixed it promplty and price was better than other shops. Happy (408-637-9994 ) and Jeet (408-630-5864) are very honest and always try to get you the best price. 1) Excellent service, 2) Professional, 3) Timely 4) Best prices 5) Highly recomended read more

Does a decent job for regular stuff like oil change, brake pad replacement, belt replacement etc. Will not recommend for the engine work, like fixing leaks or other work which needs opening the engine. I have concerns about the quality of work. read more

Wrong diagnosis. He diagnosed the problem with one part and quoted for another. He talks a lot and try to misguide me. He said, he will drive the car to check the breaks and after few minutes he said, that the brakes needed to be replaced for $850, without driving the car. read more

Realized after spending a fortune on other auto service repair shops . Good service and very knowledgeable

I have a major brake work to be done on my vehicle and looked around for good shops to help me. I am a car enthusiast but not an expert on car repairs. Nimma was very professional and provided me good answers to my questions. I bought my car in and the project was successful! Thank you for your help and I highly recommend Shiv Auto Service! read more

Excellent service, great communication, reasonable price. Went in to fix fender liner, he checked the damage, told me exact part I need to order at Honda dealership. After getting the parts, I came back in 30min, he got it all taken care of immediately. Bonus point, he helped me check the brake and replaced them, it's almost worn out but I didn't know, saved me sooo much hassle. read more

Nimma is very trustworthy and did an awesome job and finding out what was wrong with my suv and fixed right away. Highly recommend!

Never take your car for diagnosis here for any problem. Charged me $90 for diagnosis of a prob my car was having. The mechanic gave a theory based on visual observation which he called accurate diagnosis. No proper testing of components. Said radiator was leaking. Luckily I had recently replaced my raditor & it was under warranty so took my car back to the guys who had done the radiator work. They took out each component and stress tested & ran diagnostics and found radiator to be fine. When I confronted Shiv's technician with this & asked for a refund for wrong diagnosis he started shouting & was not even ready to take out each compoenet & do proper testing to prove this diagnosis. Total cheat ready to squeeze out $$ from out. Only funda & theory. No proper diligence read more

The person over the call was very rude when asked for quote. He says 'go and get the repair done at a different place'. May be he wasn't interested or not paid well. Pathetic place. read more

I had a great experience getting my car repaired at Shiv Auto. I came with a 'Transmission Error' in my BMW 520i which was difficult to get fixed. A lot of Auto shops couldn't detect the problem let alone fix it. They gave me really high estimates. Nirmal gave me an honest assessment of the problem. He has great skill in fixing complex issues like the transmission. The best thing I liked about him is his honesty and the fast turnaround time. I would recommend him for any European/American cars. read more

One of the best auto shop in this area. Nirmal mechanic is really an expert. Very economical and quick. Thanks Shiv auto for all your work. read more

The most honest auto mechanic I have ever met. He is a stickler for detail and will not overcharge you. He even shared video on his findings to let you know of any issues you might not be aware of. read more

The owner of Shiv Auto Service, Nirmal, is a very nice and professional man. He's a pleasure to work with. And he definitely knows what he's doing around cars, from old junkers to new imports. Shiv Auto Service is in a center with lots of other auto repair businesses, and Nirmal is always busy. That in itself has to tell you something. In my many years, I've met lots of shady characters. You won't have to worry about that here. You can trust your car to be taken care of with Shiv Auto Service. And the cost of repairs he charges are at least competitive, if not better than most other shops you will come across. He also does Smogs now too! read more

The best car service centre in the Bay Area Nirmal ( the proprietor) is extremely friendly and charges reasonably lower rates as compared to other car service stations He also offers oil change services at relatively lower price and great quality I give 5 stars from my side Great going Nirmal please keep up the good work read more

The brakes on my truck completely failed and i was worried what I would end up paying at a repair shop but Nirmal took care of me. He did a fantastic job on my truck but I was mostly impressed with how honest he is with his customers. Other repair shops would have charged me for parts I didn't need and rack up the labor costs but Shiv Auto Service doesn't do that. They are very fair, and again very honest. I highly recommend choosing Shiv Auto Service and will be telling everyone I know to go see Nirmal for auto repairs. read more

Nirmal is very helpful and he did his job as promised He even offered extra services as gratuity read more

No experience in handling more complex work than a Oil Change. Loud mouth owner who has poor workmanship. Amazing thing was he was treating me royally when I dropped the car and when I went to pick up he acted pricey and even had the temerity to tell me that he is BUSY with other things.. Pls avoid and use other shops even if they charge bit more... read more

Shiv Auto Service is located in a very busy lot with many other auto shops. The owner, Nirmal, seems to be the one that does all the work himself. My boyfriend and I recently took our car here for a smog check because we were in the area. I don't remember exactly but it was around $40-$50 for the smog. We were in and out in no time. After he smogged the car, he noticed the nice, big scratch we had on the door, and offered to clean it up a bit free of charge. He sprayed some magical liquid on the door, rubbed it in, and instantly the scratch looked so much better afterwards. Wow!! Highly recommend, I love supporting small businesses and try to support them as much as I can. read more

I recently visited this place for a regular maintenance service and was very happy I did. Nirmal responded to my queries and appointment request with great speed and very patiently answered a few questions I had. He very sincerely looks out for his clients. I was happy with my visit and will gladly go back again. read more

I just got timing belt replaced for my 2005 honda civic from here. I am quite happy with the service I got. Following are the key points: 1. The price was about 30% less as compared to other outlets 2. He offers 20% discount on labor for Cisco employees 3. He offers a great FREE car wash if you are in for major work 4. There was a small hiccup, for which Nirmal came down to my house to fix it. He took the car to his garage and got it fixed. Overall a good service outlet with a honest guy in charge. read more

The water pump i replaced for my Toyota Camry here was not properly done with gasket and sealant and resulted in Coolant emptied. Realized this after a year and was late to go here to fix again as the warranty was over. And I had to fix this with another local workshop mechanic guy. read more

Came in at 4, took a test drive in the jeep ordered the parts needed and immediately started work work! Amazing service!5 stars

I would give them more than 5 stars. Shiv auto is extremely reliable and honest. I was going to buy a used car and bought it here for an inspection and they were able to immediately find out issues that were not on the car fax. They always quote me honest amounts and are very reliable and hardworking. Dealing with Shiv auto is always a good experience and they are v flexible and look after ur needs. read more

Excellent and prompt service in very reasonable price... Nirmal provides genuine and honest advice. It was worth to get services from there in comparison of other auto shops or centers. Definitely it will be my first priority to go there for any auto services... :) read more

Got a lot of stuff fixed here - my A/C compressor was bust, dampers were dead and tires almost smoothed out - all for around 1100. Very comprehensive and professional service at an extremely reasonable cost. All other places gave me a quote at least 3 times of what Shiv Auto Services provided me with. And there were NO compromises. Very very good service, and a good and amiable staff. Highly recommended. read more

Shiv Auto Service is absolutely incredible. There is no other repair shop that I trust more with my car. He is such a great man. Nirmal is fast, honest, friendly, does great work and always let's me know what's up. I've never had an issue with him. I would recommend this place to everyone who needs work done on their car. Thank you Nirmal for being one of the great ones out there. read more

This gets better. Nirmal now threatens me with legal action. Just a heads up to his former, current and future customers. Please be aware of all the dirty tricks he can pull. So Nirmal says he has invoice for the belts but refuses to come to a mutually agreeable location to show the invoice and match the serial number (not just part number which will obviously be the same) to the belts installed in my car. Nirmal, I want the purchase bill, name of the seller you bought belts from and also warranty card/certificate for the new belts (serial number matching the ones in my car) you installed and I will gladly update the reviews that you did indeed replace belts. Additionally, please look forward to a letter from BBB demanding explanation of your 250$ charge and all the original receipts and bills you have to prove if you did what you claim you did. Here's what I intend to do. Approach: 1) BBB 2) Small claims court read more

Nirmal came across as thoroughly honest and knowledgable. He diagnosed my BMW in detail and reset some of the errant faults, and provided me with great advice on how to fix my steering wheel lock issue. Will certainly go back here!! read more

After experiencing the greatest headache of my life with a car battery in Northern California while vacationing from So Cal we finally found a car battery we just needed someone to install it since we did not have the proper tools. We called Shiv & the owner was a doll. He gave us a good deal & was professional with the installment. Thank you for taking the time to help us & luckily it was one of the few shops open on a Sunday, everything in town seemed to close early or not be open. This shop is a gem! Definitely the best in the bay! read more

I had my oil change done at Precision Tune and due to their technician's mistake (found later by Shiv auto), my car stopped suddenly. AAA told that my car starter may not be working. I got my car towed to Shiv Auto. Nirmal gave me options - either I buy the starter and get it installed OR he will buy & install. Nirmal also gave options for me where to buy from (if I chose first). I called couple of folks and found part costs 100 bucks. Nirmal said it might cost 130. When I told him about my findings, in front me he called the store and asked them, why are they quoting him differently (and more) than when I called and expressed his unhappiness at their behaviour, on the speaker-phone. The store guy gave it to 100. The real good nature & transparency of Nirmal is yet to come. After replacing the starter also, engine would not start. Then he found that engine is DEAD due to Precision's mistake. Since I was told by Precision to tow to them and there was no time to change the starter again. Shiv let me tow the car with new starter and said, after I get my car repaired, I could have new one replaced with old one. What a gesture!!!!. On top of it, when I started paying for the service + part, his card-reading machine would not work. He said, no worries. Where will the money go!!!. If god is with me, money will come. You can always come back, pay me and replace New one. He also said, since it is no one's mistake, we will have to figure out a way to use the NEW starter, as store would not take it back. That means, I got my vehicle serviced at no cost at that point of time. I have never seen any auto-service do this. This personal touch really moved me. Even after that, he guided me on how I should have worked with Precision and gave advises. Later I went and got my new starter replaced with old one and again at no additional cost May god bless Shiv Auto and their team to continue to provide HONEST good service and may his HONEST clients be happy. read more

Awesome guy. Explains things what's wrong and fixes everything within the time he quotes. His English is dodgy but otherwise, splendid service. Been going there for about 2 years now. Also, very affordable service. Highly recommended. read more

Good service station in Bay Area.the proprietor nirmal was honest and good.i recommend this place..

Shiv auto is a mechanic shop you can trust. My check engine light was on and wouldn't pass smog because of it, previously my knock sensors were changed however who did it before didn't do it correctly, that's why the check engine light remained on. Nirmal from Shiv Auto changed my knock sensors and showed me the damage I had from the previous person that installed it, he didn't even tighten one of my knock sensors, SMH. Since I was on a time constraint because I had to go to the DMV to get my registration that was due, Nirmal worked on my car fast and accurately. I am very pleased with Nirmal's work and will refer all my friends to Shiv Auto Service. read more

Great service!! Nirmal's work was clean. I recommend this place. He clearly explained what he is going to do and how much it will cost. Price was reasonable. Delivered on time and the fix was perfect. I am happy with his service. He even offered a free polishing after a week. read more

I had a fender/bender with my Corolla. The car ahead of me suddenly stopped ( a pedestrian was near the road ) and I couldn't avoid hitting the car. While searching for collision repair shops, I found Shiv Auto. Nirmal quickly looked over the damage and worked on the fender for 30 min to push it back out to it's normal shape. Fender still has cosmetic damage - paint chips and small scratches. But largely car is back to original. And the fee for this was 50$. Good price and speedy service. I plan to get my car's oil changed here from now on. read more

Went in today looking for air conditioning service and they said they can do it, but just don't want to today. Acted like they didn't care about doing business. Terrible customer service. Stated "not today, just not today, do you need oil change or brake service?" Replied no and he just kept saying "no. Not today." read more
