Do not go here...the worst customer service. All the doors state use drive thru. Go thru the drive thru set for 20 min with a sign saying order here...no one said anything. Drove by woman was at the window said order here after 10am. Go to the Porter or Humble locations. read more

Those were the best donuts! Shipley's doesn't have any problems at all, just plain great food. I like the jelly filled donuts and the fruits that are in it go with the fried dough. Donuts are simply fried dough, but these ones are perfect! Would return, and would recommend on Saturdays for breakfast. Just get a dozen. Plus, the service is spot-on. The workers are friendly, and when you say whatever you want, they get that thing for you. Best donuts in the state!!! DO NOT eat store-bought donuts. read more

This shipley is a poor excuse for a shipley donut shop. They are pricey, small donuts for the specialty options like the apple fritters, they are like pancakes flat minimal filling. The kolaches there are what you expect the bread to meat ratio favors to much bread. read more

I've been going to various Shipley locations since my early childhood. Unfortunately, my experience today has justified why I do not like to spend money at food businesses around here in Kingwood. Understandably Covid has caused businesses to lose some profits. But, there is no excuse to not provide great service. This morning on 10/28/20 at 7:40am, I decided to goto this location to pick up breakfast since my sister, brother in law, and my niece(2yrs) and nephew(3yrs) stayed over last night and I wanted to pick up some breakfast before having to clock in at home for work. I ordered 1/2 dozen donut hole and a dozen plain kolaches (but only 4 were available and I got the rest sausage and cheese), and 1 dozen donuts. My niece and nephew are picky eater which is why I wanted to get plain. I drive home which is less than 10mins away. I get the kids situated at the table ready to eat. The donut holes and their Plain Kolaches were cold. Not such a big deal I thought, before ever eating some myself and I warmed them in the microwave for a few seconds. Obviously, kids haven't developed a strong enough palate to know what is good or how something should taste. However, I proceed to fix my plate of the sausage and cheese kolaches and a couple of the glazed donuts. Being that I've eaten Shipley's my entire life (I don't goto place like Krispy Kreme or anything other than Shipley). When biting into the kolaches, they were kind of cold, you can tell that the breading was not fresh and had like a flakey taste to it. Still, I can kind of overlook that I thought. Then, when I got the eating the donut. Not only was that cold. You can tell that they were not even made today. It had an odd taste. The glaze just crumbled immediately when touching it/pulling apart the donut. Even if the donut was made early this morning and it cooled down, it still (the glaze) would not have flakes as much. It would still have a bit of a stickiness to it. I should have taken a picture of my plate to show how much of the glaze just immediately fall off the donut. I have an issue that I was charged a total of $34 for food that was not fresh or even made the same day. I get business is tough for a lot of places, but that should not mean that you have to short your customers on quality. If you as a business decide to continue selling previous days product. Fine. But, don't charge your patrons full price as if they were a batch made today. I feel like in order for the business to make it right, I deserve at least half of my $34 back that was charged on my card because it was not freshly made product that I received. At this point I feel like I do not want, nor ever would want to give my business to this location again. read more

Shipleys has been a regular part of my life since I can remember. As a child they were present in my Sunday school class and later on at the morning meetings at work. While I understand how terribly awful they are for the body I also know how deliciously wonderful they are for the taste buds. This location is close to home, there is a drive up window and I've never waited longer than a few minutes. The donuts are warm and fresh and I am always greeted with a friendly smile. Shipleys is for donuts, if you want kolaches then you must travel elsewhere because no matter what location shipleys does not make a good Kolache. They try but they fail. Its ok though, I give them credit for the effort. Eat more donuts from shipleys, early in the morning. Bring some to work with you and make everyone's day a little sweeter. Dropped off my dogs and headed to a wedding in San Antonio. I saw a Shipleys and as a connoisseur of apple fritters I stopped in for a couple for the road for me and my wife. OMG. I got some fried dough with some apple pie filling inside. How disgusting. Apple fritters have a burnt sugar apple flavor and are a doughnut. No one who makes doughnuts uses apple pie filling except lazy doughnut makers in a couple of Shipleys. It's been such a long time since I've had a bad one I forgot to check this Shipleys to ensure I got a good one. Warning. Do-nut maker who hasn't learned how to make doughnuts yet. I gave the lady back her doughnuts, did not ask for my money back as it's wasn't her fault the doughnuts aren't very good here, and I went to Pat's Doughnuts on the freeway south of Porter and got a fabulous apple fritter. read more

Even though I'm not a big fan of donuts, I think this place is A-ok. The glaze flakes off their do nuts... and that's the way it should be, I think. Their kolaches need work. A traditional kolache is filled with fruit, but I kind of knew a kolache here meant pig in a blanket. Luckly, I'm a huge fan of ham, cheese, and sausage. Every day of my childhood I ate at shipley's. There is nothing I like more in this world than a hot, fresh from the oven sausage and cheese kolache. I would order it for my death row meal. I can eat it every day. I don't care how rude the lady at the counter is, I don't care what donuts are in stock and which ones aren't. I will go out and fight someone for a kolache. This location was clean and simply decorated/furnished. This place's goal is to sell doughnuts and they take a pretty no-muss, no-fuss approach. The women working the counter were nice and greeted me kindly. I ordered an 18 count of mixed doughnuts. They whipped up my order into boxes and had it all bagged up in about two minutes flat. The price was reasonable, about $11. There was an issue that the woman ringing me out typed the amount in wrong and charged me $18 instead. She apologized profusely and gave me the difference back in cash. I didn't really mind, but I hope that's not the kind of mistake they make often. This is probably my favorite donut shop that I've ever been to always get the cinnamon twist my oldest daughter gets the cinnamon twist my son gets to chocolate sprinkled donuts and my youngest daughter gets a cinnamon twist or the donut holes either way it's hardly $5.00 every time we go and I love the fact that it's on the way to my kids school my kids schools not even a mile away the doughnut shops not even a quarter of a mile away the apple juices are the perfect size for kids and unlike the little juice boxes they don't get all over my car shipley's donuts is my absolute favorite doughnut I've been to a lot of donut shops that have either deli donuts or they're too hard the glazes completely falling off at some places but this donut shop always has perfect donuts the best day to go in is Thursday for some reason I think they have the freshest donuts on Thursday or Friday . read more

If you want a donut in Kingwood, this is your best bet. Plus, I can't beat the location since it's only 2 miles from my house. The donuts, donut holes, bear claws, cinnamon rolls, etc. are always fresh and yummy. The kolaches are pretty doggone good too. I like mine with sausage, cheese, and jalapenos. Service-wise the people are on the ball. At peak times there counter is lined with help so there is hardly a wait if at all. I'm usually in and out within 3 minutes. It's not the best donut I've ever had but, like I said, it's your best bet in Kingwood. read more

The kolches and donuts are tasty and best around! However, the Mexican lady there is just rude. We have visited this place about once or twice a week at least. Same lady, same poor attitude. She doesn't greet, no smile, nothing. She is usually sitting in her chair and just stares at you until you are ready to order. Then she catches another attitude when you make an order and pays. TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. My son loves getting breakfast here, but after allowing him to witness this kind of interaction multiple times we have decided to not frequent this donut shop anymore. Probably the best donuts ever, just like any other Shipley's with great kolaches and a convenient drive-thru. The donuts were hot and fresh and it was fast and inexpensive. I will definitely come back here soon. read more
