Since moving away from Texas, Shipley Do-Nuts is one of those few restaurants that I really miss. Pretty much every trip to Bryan, I have my Shipley. Do without them for a while and I'll bet you'll have more appreciation of what in my opinion, the best doughnut I've had anywhere! My favorites are the hot glazed and chocolate filled. And with the addition of Kolaches, they keep me coming back. Their Kolaches are my favorite! I like the jalepeno sausage with that creamy cheese. Friday 11am Walked in ready to enjoy some yummy sweet and savory kolache's. Alas, there were only cheese and jalapeno and egg & sausage kolache's and donuts too. Brought three friends from California that have never been to Shipley's nor have they ever eaten a kolache. They ordered and we sat at a table to enjoy. Went to the new Shipley's donuts in Bryan this morning, 8/10/26. I've been so excited to visit since they opened and finally had the chance this morning. I went a little after 8 AM so they weren't busy which was surprising and no one was in the drive-through. When I came around to the menu, it was completely black so I thought maybe the actual store wasn't open yet and they were still working on things. I drove up to the window just to be sure and a worker opened the window. She said they were open. They just don't turn the menu on because they can't hear the customers. I asked her if they had a couple of items and she said no (one being the cream filled donuts or fruit filled), so I ordered the very basic I could think of off the top of my head because they had no menu whatsoever. The lady was not overly rude, but she was not friendly either never smiled, never bother to ask if I needed to see a printout of the menu or ever bothered to help in anyway. When I got home, the donuts I got were very dry and bland. It's like they had been sitting there for days. I also looked up the menu because I was pretty positive. They had the fruit filled donuts and it's on their menu. Unless for some reason, they just weren't selling it this morning which not sure why they wouldn't since they just opened. I will not be back to this location, which is very disappointing because I have been so excited the whole time they were building it. Why have a drive-through if you're not gonna have a menu up where people can see what their options are, especially people who don't go there very often. read more

Raised and cinnamon twisted donuts were light and airy, good chew, not too dense. The sausage kolache was average and underwhelming. I would pay 1.75 for it, but it's not worth the $4.00+ price at all. The cream filling is more icing, than an actual cream, so that was a bummer. First time coming here. Donuts are kind of similar to Krispy Kreme, but with a slight mochi-like texture which is pretty delicious. Lots of varieties to choose from. They have a drive thru for convenience, but the lines get long so I prefer coming into the store. Their Kolaches are huge and flavorful, but the wiener inside is super thin. Got a few doughnuts to school, and everyone loved them. They have a good variety as well. Drive thru line gets full fast in the small parking lot, but the service and staff are quick, so it's not too bad of a wait. read more

I want to start by saying the donuts were pretty good as usual. However, the service was also pretty terrible, as usual. I came in with 2 friends at 11:45 and almost fell on a wet floor because the women was already mopping and stacking chairs ( over an hour before they close .) On top of this, the women were constantly talking about how bad they want to be off and how terrible their jobs are. We just kind of sat in shock that they were discussing all of this by screaming across the place way before close. The cherry on top was when we ordered a iced coffee , just to find the machine was broken and the man squirted the mixture into the cups with his bare hands on the machine . We left . We all said the experience was terrible uncomfortable And awkward to say the least . read more

I really love Shipley's DO-Nuts. I haven't been here since 2006 when I was in college and I have to say - it hasn't changed since then. Which is perfect. The store has a ton of options to choose from in terms of donuts, but I honestly go for the kolache's. Just delicious. Staff is super friendly and I love the window where the kids (and I) can watch the donuts and kolaches being made. Great place. Can't go wrong. Check them out! read more

While I really want to like this place, it's a little tough given how hard it is to go here on a given morning. Pros: + Large Variety + Quick Service - multiple lines; a lot is already pre-packed + inexpensive Cons: - PARKING - OMG, it's easier to get out of Kyle Field during an Aggie and Longhorn game than it is to navigate out of this parking lot. (Okay, so this might be a hyperbole, but plan on at least fifteen minutes to get int and out of the parking lot, plus the additional time you'd already be there) - The batch I ended up getting was a bit stale (not sure if this is normal, but my donut holes weren't the best. read more

Very good donuts! What I miss, is that about 20 + years ago, they served some of the best Flame Grilled burgers in the B-CS area. What happened to those? By looking at the menu it is another donut Hole in the Wall now..... Kinda sucks, that they took away the best burger around. read more

We love Shipleys !! Rating 4 stars because we have noticed some changes , the kolaches are mainly bread with lots of cheese more then it is sausage, long ago it had huge sausage in it and was so much better now it's all bread and cheese and we end up pulling majority of the bread off Bc if not you end up with a dry mouth. But the donuts are amazing as always which is why we mainly go and the donut holes well we still love them omg love them haha but they aren't warm no more like they use to be , now they are cold but not a nasty cold to where it's dry but just not warm. But other then the two things mainly the kolaches , we enjoy shipleys and will continue to give them our services. Honestly I think best kolaches in town are daylights donuts but like I said shipleys is number 1 daylights would most likely be our number 2 choice . read more

This is by far the most superior donut shop in town! I am in sales and I often like to take my clients donuts. We have tried a few different places, but the Shipley's on Villa Maria never disappoints. They are friendly, professional and quick! Plus their donuts are melt in your mouth good - hot and fresh. Today Marisol and Teresa got me in and out and on to my first appointment on time! All while other employees made sure that the other customers behind me didn't have to wait, despite my large order. They understood my order, got it correct, and never stopped smiling. Last time we were there, it was either the manager or the owner who helped us, and she was warm and friendly too. I really appreciate the high level of service and quality I receive at this location. I will not make the mistake of visiting other donut shops or even other Shipley's locations, where the employees are incompetent at best and flat out rude at the worst. read more

Donuts are good.kolache, not so much. Got what I though were large kolaches and got home. Bit into it and they were large rolls of bread with a piece of cheese and a small mini sausage for 3.69 each. You get your first taste of cheese at 2 bites in and then sausage about half way in. Terrible. Need vast improvement. read more

This location was fast, but way too expensive! Grandkids had 2 dozen donut holes & 2 milks. It came to over $10! The hotel we stayed at in Bryan, The LaSalle, had no breakfast so I had to venture out for something quick. I'm thankful that I found Shipley's on Yelp, as the kiddos don't understand having to wait around for food 1st thing in the morning. The cashier was friendly & the kids enjoyed their food. I went here Labor Day 9/3/12 for the very first time. I ordered a glazed donut and it was warm and delicious! It wasn't too sweet or anything. It was just right. LA needs a Shipley's! It was better than Krispy Kreme which can be too sweet sometimes read more

One star is for the taste of the sausage. Minus 1 star for how small the sausage was. Minus 1 star for the massive and overpowering amount of cheese and lack of jalapeño. We bought 5 kolaches and a dozen donuts. The donuts were good. The kolaches we ordered were SUPPOSED to be jalapeno and cheese. First off, the sausage tasted like vienna sausage, which I can't stand, then there was absolutely NO jalapeno OR cheese in 4 out of the 5 kolaches. Definitely NOT the best kolaches in Texas. I wish I could rate this lower. I have been to the other Shipley's in town and never had a problem. When we walked in to the two workers having a verbal altercation with a customer we were confused to say the least. You don't expect that kind of thing and I don't think the customers (who had children!) were expecting it either. It seemed to me that they were taking being cursed at pretty well. They were leaving as we came in and had it not been so surprising and confusing we would have left. I needed my sugar fix though and as I approached the counter the woman (who I later found out was the manager) said "f-ing b---ch" looking at the people leaving. She said it loud enough so as to include me in the moment... I guess. Well I was still on a mission for doughnuts so I awkwardly ordered and the worker gave me a hard time about how many doughnuts I was ordering. I ordered 2 and 3 for my coworker and our coffees. After I paid she made a condescending comment about how it would have been a better deal if I had gotten more. We sat down to eat and drink our coffee when we decided to get 2 more glazed while we chatted. I walked up and ordered, pulled out my credit card and the woman (not manager ) said "you don't have cash?". I did not, ask her if there were a minimum charge to which she said sighed and said no(all of this with my arm hanging limply in the air holding out my credit card). She just looked at me, turned around put the doughnuts in a bag and handed them to me. This would have been ok, except she wasn't being 'cool' she just turned around and walked away... So now I'm standing there still holding out my card and a bag of doughnuts not sure if they are free or what the deal is. She never came back or turned around to look at me(she was talking to the manager at the window)... So Even with free doughnuts this was a very unpleasant experience. read more
