I had the same experience as Alex S., Sarah S., K.A, and other reviewers. The work was meh. Adriana rushed and cut corners each time she came. I should have let her go after the first cleaning but I kept hoping she'd improve. She didn't. There are many exceptional cleaners out there. I'd encourage you to find one of those. Now here is the strangest thing. Today she was scheduled to clean my house. I was tired of prepaying her for a shoddy job. So instead of leaving a check, I came home at the time she should have been finished. When I came in, the house kind of smelled like cleanser but clearly wasn't clean. Adriana wasn't here. I had a missed call from her but no voice mail. I walked into my kitchen and found that my stove had been cleaned and that was all. Further, Adriana had used my dishes to eat lunch & left dirty dishes with a gnawed chicken bone in my sink. What. The. Heck? In summary, it will be a looooong time before I let someone into my house when I'm not here. I'm so creeped out that I'm actually glad she didn't clean. Too weird. read more

Don responded quickly and was very communicative. His quote was significantly cheaper than the rest of the quotes I received through yelp. We agreed upon a timing and he was able to schedule with short notice. He was running late and text me that he would be late. Once he arrived he and his wife did an excellent job. A great company for us. We called Shiny Clean for the first time at the recommendation of our real estate broker to prep our home for sale. I called, got a general quote, and scheduled a day for them to come. As expected, they showed up on time with 4 people (Don, Adriana, and two other helpers). Over a period of several hours they went systematically though the house to clean absolutely everything from curtains, banisters, baseboards, showers, plants, doors, counters, kitchen appliances, and many other things I can't remember to mention here. All the windows were washed inside and out. By the time they left, the place was spotless, smelled good, and it was hard for me to find anything they missed. The team was particularly friendly and their approach reminded me a lot of my Mom & Dad whom in their business always insisted on treating customers with respect, being friendly, and giving great service at a good value. The wife and I are highly impressed and would never hesitate to call them again when needed or to recommend them. I noted with interest that there are only two types of ratings so far on yelp... either 5 stars or 1 star, and no in between. By reading the 1 star reviews, I probably would not want to deal with customers like them anyway. I think it would be totally unprofessional to cancel a check because of a few things not perfect. Some customers are just too hard to please from my experience. If I had only one suggestion, it would be to have a quick walk-through with a customer if at home during the cleaning just to confirm all is well. Shiny Clean Was Not So Clean!! My wife coordinated the service and I was home to provide access. The job entailed cleaning our kitchen cabinets and oven. Our short notice only allotted a 90 minute window. Concentrated Degreaser was applied by a high pressure sprayer and was over sprayed on all of the contents in the cabinets including baby bottles. I was shocked! I requested that we clear the contents of the kitchen and quickly jumped into action to help. The cleaner was highly concentrated and quickly began to burn my fingers. My wife coordinated and scheduled the work and was quoted $120 per hour for three workers. I was billed a final total of $195 for two workers. I requested a service agreement and an invoice multiple times. Actually I wanted the invoice before paying. Adrianna insisted on being paid was wasn't leaving our home until getting paid. Over one month later. I have yet to receive an invoice. The invoice was required to receive reimbursement and my wife was told one would be provided upon completion. Adrianna told me that I would receive an invoice later that evening. Still waiting, can you please send one, thanks. After shiny clean left. I had to clean all of our cookware, plates and baby bottles. There was degreaser residue over every inch of cabinets and floors that had to be rinsed Clean. The quality of work was unacceptable! Seeing degreaser sprayed over baby bottles left me speechless. In honesty 90 minutes was not enough time to do a through job. Adrianna was in a rush to get out and commute home to San Ramon from Danville. We would have paid for the extra time. At $120 per hour why not put a couple extra hours in. Im familiar with Construction billing and these rates are high even after workman's Comp, GL, taxes and mark up. I don't feel we were dealt with fairly and or ethically. Adrianna was a nice person but the job was unprofessional. Perhaps great for unoccupied spaces but not acceptable for someones home. read more

I used this cleaning service and Adriana was very reliable and prompt in her communication. She arrived at the time frame she committed to. She did appear a bit frazzled when she arrived and tired. I assume she had been working a long day. She seemed confidnet in her work and got right to cleaning. She did an "ok" job which is why I gave her three starts. She did a move out clean and it took her longer than she quoted because she did not realize how "dirty" my house was until she started. She said that to me hahaha oh well. Anyway, my landlord ended up having to hire another cleaning company and charged me for half the cost. As a compassionate person I do not blame Adriana for the "ok" cleaning but do see that she was trying her hardest with the time frame she had planned out for herself. However, when they showed up they rushed and cut corners, spent less than 1 hour yet charge the same. The worse house cleaners I ever had. Over time, less and less time has been spent cleaning my home and more and more things have remained uncleaned after the crew left. This last time, in the bathroom only the floor was partially cleaned, the toilet cleaned, and the sink cleaned. The shower stall was left filthy, and only when I caught some of this sloppiness, were some of the uncleaned items remediated. I found the same degree of sloppiness in the kitchen. In this room, only the sink, counter, stovetop and part of the floor was cleaned. Similar to in the bathroom, I was lucky enough to have caught some of this before the crew left, and some details were fixed. Later in the afternoon, I discovered a similar lack of attention to detail in the living room. A large table was uncleaned with cat hair and debris still on it. I am dreading discovering what other things were overlooked as time moves forward. My take is that Shiny Clean is intentionally rushing through my home to maximize their profit from cleaning every two weeks. The net result is that I am paying $95 for results that are completely unacceptable. A month ago, Don found a wallet - with money in it, and a cell phone on the street outside of my house. He brought both items to me to reunite with the owners, since we assumed these were people in my neighborhood. Not a penny was taken from the wallet. The owner was very relieved to have it returned. The fact that nothing was missing was an added bonus. The phone was dead, but after a quick recharge on my own charger, I was able to call the owner and get the phone back to that owner as well. read more

I'm with Jim on this one. They are really nice people but wow. What a waste of $325. My floors, counters, oven, baseboards, sinks, cupboards, blinds, etc etc were ALL still dirty. The funny thing is, Don walked around the house with me and flat out lied about what they had cleaned. Or maybe his cleaning staff lied to him about what they cleaned. I don't know. I ran my finger across my baseboards and found dust and grime still there. Yet he told me they had this brush that does the baseboards. He must not have used on mine. The floors were filthy. I found crumbs and hairs still in cupboards. (We were moving into a resale home and so they were hired to clean before we moved in). I feel ripped off. My windows and mirrors were clean but that was about all. I think they would be good if you only need window washing, but if you need professional home cleaning I would get someone else. I was really disappointed. I ended up cleaning the house again myself. At least now I know its clean. read more
