Pierre Sang was pretty good. This was the first time I've done a "blind tasting" where they…read moreencourage you to guess the ingredients used. I liked this and I had fun puzzling it out with my friends. We did not do a very good job! It was hard to guess the ingredients and I think they purposefully try to fool you a little. I have photos of each course but I don't remember all the details. We had 6 courses. There was a small starter of a bao bun; mine was markedly less filled than the others on the table, so the proportions were off and I felt shortchanged. Then we had a fish course, a course with savory ice cream and some bread (like cornbread), a mushroom "pate" course, a cheese course (one big slice of cheese), and dessert (ice cream and apricots?). I felt like everything (taste, texture, ingredient quality and variety) were good but not great, especially since they are making things easier on themselves by doing fixed menus. Staff tried to explain what all the dishes and ingredients were, and they did good but not great job. They spoke English but didn't always know the English words for specific ingredients. The ambiance was fine. We were at a long, narrow communal table on the first floor just next to the kitchen and the door. It was a little cold from people coming in and out and a little busy with all the staff moving around. It wasn't the most refined or relaxing atmosphere.

We had an amazing experience at Pierre Sang, unlike any dining experience we have ever had. We went…read morefor my husband's 50th birthday and it was such a treat. Everything was innovative and delicious (I'm sure the menu changes regularly). They accommodated my gluten allergy and I had the best gluten free bread that I've ever had (made fresh just for me!). We had an outstanding server who taught us a ton about interesting wines as we opted for the wine pairing too. I read some reviews about price point, but it was much cheaper than Prix Fixe in SF, Chicago and NYC where we dine regularly and the portions were big. The vibe was cozy and we enjoyed walking around the neighborhood before hand.

Maybe I'm biased because I'm Chinese, but I was impressed by the creative fusion here; Cheval d'Or flawlessly executed nostalgic, delicious food that was further refined by French techniques. I did think the wontons didn't have enough filling, but everything else on our tasting menu was superb. I'm also not sure how it's 9 courses because it feels like we got 17, but I'm not complaining. The shrimp toast was one of my faborite bites, but the chicken with the foie gras sauce had me legit licking my plate. They change their menu by switching out a dish every week, so it's unlikely you'd get the same menu, but I definitely plan to go back every time I'm in Paris.

Most of the courses were delicious, although there were a few that were confusing. One of the starters was a completely bland vegetable mixture - we barely ate half of it. The duck at the end (take on peking duck) was also underwhelming. We were showing a whole duck but seemed like only half a duck delivered. Desserts were also mediocre - the two selections were very similar and not memorable. We did appreciate the attentiveness from the staff to collect plates and start the next course timely. Would recommend to try at least.

I opted for a glass of sauvignon blanc to pair with my 6 course meal. I enjoyed each and every course. Though the courses visually looked small I found myself very full. The freshness of all the ingredients paired with perfect execution and wonderful service warrants another visit to Esens'All.

When you enter the "grass/moss" wall just warms the place up in Avery simple yet modern decor. We got the 8 course chef choice (silly to get 6 course when you come to a place like this) and let our senses go crazy!! Everything was so finely made and so pure and the flavor exploded in your mouth!! It's seriously quite the experience for any foodie!! If you are remotely in a hurry or want a large amount of food, do not come here. If you want to experience course made perfectly and appreciate the presentation, there is no better place to eat dinner over 2 - 2 1/2 hours!! This is your dinner, show and after party wrapped in one!! The service by the way was incredible as the chef explained every dish himself and gave us a preview of what to anticipate next...5 stars without reservations!!
