We hired Matt to take care of our windows last week. In HMB, the air is wet, filled with pollen, and has some salt in it to boot. At starlings that like to mate and poop right over our sunroom, and you get an interesting mix of "stuff" on the windows. Matt came out, counted our window panes (98, turns out), and gave us a VERY fair bid. He spent much of the day on the job, taking care not to damage any screens (something our previous cleaner couldn't seem to grasp). I didn't really give my windows much thought until *I* went to the effort to clean a couple of them. It's a lot of work. So I was delighted to try out Shine Window Services when I saw a LivingSocial deal for the company a couple months ago. Matt, the owner, was easy to reach (I left a message, he called back within 30 minutes!), flexible on appointment options within my limited window (Ha - see what I did there? Window...), and proactively confirmed the appointment a few days in advance. When he arrived, he reviewed with me what my offer took care of, and after counting up the windows in the house, he explained the options to do the rest of the house. He presented the options, and didn't try to upsell me. I decided to have him clean our skylights and do all the interior windows, too. I'm glad I did. Matt was friendly and efficient, but most importantly he was thorough. He cleaned every screen and every window track, in addition to doing a great job on the glass. As he worked his way through the house, he was very careful to clean up and even throw down a dropcloth to stand on where needed. Matt's is trying to build his business, and he's doing it by focusing on his customers and delivering great service. Doing it that way takes patience, because it requires delighting every single customer along the way. Looking at the other reviews, I can see that my great experience with Shine Window Services is not unique, and I'm glad to see that. I will hire him again, and I heartily recommend him to anyone who owns a house with windows. And for any realtors reading this review -- this is the guy you want to hire before your open houses! I was referred through a neighbor on Nextdoor and am very happy with Matt's work. He was accommodating of my schedule (I have two young children and needed to work around their nap schedules) and was punctual. He did a great job cleaning all of our inside and outside windows. We live in a two-story house in SF and he had no problem cleaning all the exterior 2nd floor windows. He also did a great job cleaning the inside of the windows, the screens, and the window tracks. He just left after spending a long day cleaning all three levels of our house inside and out. We live in Pacifica and our windows are facing the ocean, so plenty of salt air and. dirt. Some of the sky lighting had not been cleaned for twenty years.
