The customer service here is top notch. After having a not-so-great experience during my first visit due to confusion on who was supposed to do my appointment, Kim herself reached out to me to rectify the situation. And boy did she! I really appreciated her contacting me to make sure I get the level of care I was seeking. She had me come in for a new set (gel-x this time) and they were BEAUTIFUL. Seriously, my nails looked so natural and pretty. I loved them. Unfortunately, neither of the sets I got here (dip and gel-x) stayed on for a week, but I recognize that my very short and brittle nails don't always hold product well. I felt very comfortable there with the safety measures they put in place for Covid. Everyone wears a mask and there are plastic barriers to keep distance from each other. The service was nice but the experience was not. This lady named Jenny kept making fun of me and putting me down for my colour choices of the nail polish. It was weird that none of my credit cards and debit cards worked. I had to pay in cash. Moreover, Jenny seemed very pushy and she coerced me to do things and she seemed to be nicer to some people who were not of my complexion. She did not respect me and she called me name and started laughing as though it was a joke. Because of Jenny, this place was a horrible experience for me. I visited Shine nails today after reading all of the positive reviews on a Facebook moms group that they were taking COVID-19 seriously and were protecting their staff and customers. I'm so glad I went! Appointments only, mask required for customers and the technicians are wearing masks and face shields, acrylic dividers between the customers and technician, hand washing required, paper on the chairs, only using every other chair and even more. I felt safe and protected the whole time. Staff was super friendly and my mani/ pedi turned out great. Highly recommended -- especially if you are practicing social distancing and are worried about COVID! read more

I came here before when it was under the old management to get my acrylics done. For some reason, the people there would assumed that I was not Vietnamese and talked badly about me. My tech was recommended to me by a friend so she knew I could understand her coworkers and apologized. A year later, I have heard from the same friend that the business is now under a new management so I decided to come. The place got a facelift!! Much cleaner and more relaxing. They got tons of colors to choose from. I got the signature pedicure ($55). My tech took her time and did a wonderful job. I feel very relaxed (thank you!!) Everything was good and they got an extra star for nothing talking shit openly about their client in Vietnamese! I will come back here again for my monthly pedicure. read more

After paying $200 shellac my daughter and I, my daughter had smear marks on her nails and mine started to chip the next day, one started to actually peel off, I ended up having to pull it off. I NEVER write reviews but this place is a disaster. It's clean and has a nice atmosphere but don't let that fool you because the work is TERRIBLE at best. I got a gel manicure that literally chipped and feel apart within THIRTY minutes of me leave the salon. I called back to inquire about a refund and was assured that if I showed them the damage I would be able to get a refund. Got to the shop only to have some lady who was not the manager REFUSE to give me a refund and DEMAND that I allow them to try again. When I obviously refused to allow them a second chance I basically told there was no way to give me a refund unless I let them soak off the gel first. Why would I let you touch my hands at all after such a bad job was down the first time??????????? Terrible customer service. read more

I was a walk in during my lunch hour and they were very accommodating. I had an express pedi and dip manicure. My last "dip" manicure was a mess and the tech did the best job at fixing it, I love my nails! Not too thick and the shape is gorgeous/ The pedicure was very relaxing and she was also super nice. Everybody was smiling and I was offered something to drink. They give you your own bag of tools to bring with you to your future visits, though I forgot mine after my visit. I have been coming to this location for over ten years, with old management and new! A few of the staff have remained and honestly everyone is excellent! It's a smaller salon, but also so much more quiet and relaxing than others. They are extremely clean, and have soooo many colors to chose from! Mae is phenomenal!! She's fast tThey don't over cut your cuticles, forcing you to come back each week. Their regular polish doesn't chip, and shellac doesn't destroy your nails like at the other location (different owners). New owners Jenny and Kim are sweet. Mae is also a great masseuse!! I've lived in Houston for over 16 years so I've tried my fair share of nail salons, but this one has made such a positive imprint on me I will never go anywhere else. The woman who always helps me, an older one who's name escapes me at the moment, is very professional and even when I asked for a shape of nail she didn't know how to do, Kylie Jenner's acrylic cat nails, she tried her best and allowed me to show her in pictures and even let me shape one of my own nails myself and then she did the rest without complaint! And they turned out perfect! I have had an issue as well with my slightly ingrown toenails on my big toes, and other salons didn't know how to deal with them but Envision knew and now when I wear tight shoes my toes aren't killing me by the end of the night. The women who work there might be a little chatty but they always talk to me and ask me about my life before talking to each other, and they even remembered the first time I came in! I was with a friend from Chicago and now everytime I go they ask me if she's still back home or if she's coming back to Houston. I had my first and last visit to this salon on Saturday April 30, 2016. I was treated rudely by the owner who took offense when I asked to correct a nail I accidentally smudge. She was rude and so accusatory to the point that I told her I'd rather not argue...she wanted to preach about how I smudged the nail and how their top coat doesnt protect against that. Her tone was so obnoxious that I could not believe she was the owner. There are more details to this encounter but id prefer to save my keystrokes. ..Lord knows there are larger issues in this world but I thought id take time to express my experience.
