I have never left a review because I have never come across a company that I felt people should know about for bad reasons. This is one those, hopefully rare, situations I feel I need to share because of how completely despicable it has been. I have detailed my experiences below. On December 30th, I set up an appointment for January 2nd using the company's website for a full car detail for my mom. The price on the website lists $220, but I was charged $240. That's alright, $20 for an otherwise very professional and promising looking website? I'm in. On January 1st, I received a call from Shine Design. They let me know that the online schedule was wrong and that the person they had listed to work details that day - didn't actually work that day (and that this is a common issue). Not a big deal, I was happy to change days for an honest mistake. So we rescheduled to January 9th. On January 9th, I received a text from Shine Design stating they were under the weather and would not be able to make our appointment. In the middle of a pandemic, this was understandable, and even appreciated. So we rescheduled to January 16th. On January 15th, something came up with my mom and she was not going to be home for our appointment. I then called Shine Design and spoke with them. Shine Design said they might be able to make the appointment happen on January 17th, and if they couldn't they would reschedule to January 24th. This delay was on me and my mom - so I do not fault them. On January 17th, I did not hear from Shine Design so I had assumed they were not able to schedule for that day and it would then be the following Sunday, like we had discussed. On January 23rd, I had not heard anything from Shine Design. I text them and got a response in a reasonable amount of time. They were not able to locate my appointment for the previous week, or what was then meant to be scheduled for that weekend. They asked to reschedule to the following weekend and if so, they would do an additional buff to the vehicle - something I presumed to be included in a "Full Detail." We were now 3 and a half weeks after the initial scheduled date, so I respectfully declined and requested a refund. Shine Design apologized and said my refund would be processed in 3-5 business days. On January 30th (today), I have not received the refund. I contacted Shine Design and stated I had not received my refund - to which they replied, "Let me double check it" and then offered to send my refund via Venmo or Zelle - they never and still, 4 hours after, have not processed my refund. EDIT: Refund was processed February 1st. Since I first requested the refund, I have contacted a DIFFERENT company, scheduled, and had completed a Full Detail (plus a wax and buff) for $206.30 which included a $20 tip to the detailer. read more
