Very unfortunate experience for my husband. I'm grateful that I did not have the same experience…read morewhen we visited this Spavia. Due to the nature of what happened at Spavia in Strongsville, Ohio, my husband does not wish to revisit the details and asked that I write this review on his behalf. At first, the owners/managers of this establishment seemed genuinely concerned. They even asked that he send his experience to them in writing, since he was too upset to express it in person at the time. We were hopeful and did so--almost a month ago--but to date, we've received no reply from them. Regarding, his experience. We had hoped to write an updated, more positive review based on their stated desire to "make it right." Sadly, we cannot. Below is the review sent to the owners/managers about a month ago. Please read on and judge for yourselves. My husband and I had our first visit to Spavia last month in Dublin, Ohio, where he received an outstanding salt stone massage. Since we live in Cleveland, he was looking forward to having a similar experience at the Spavia in Strongsville. Unfortunately, this visit was the complete opposite -- truly awful for him. Based on his provider, Ashley's reviews, it's clear his experience with her, wasn't due to her lack of skill or knowledge, but rather her lack of enthusiasm and unwillingness to perform the service with care. Making his 60 minutes session grueling and very uncomfortable. Far below Spavia's standards. From an excessively long and overly oily scalp effleurage "rub." It could hardly be called a scalp "massage." To the poor use of the stones, it was absolutely apparent that Ashley performed the "whole" service begrudgingly. After spending over $200, including tip, my husband left feeling stressed instead of relaxed. Maybe she was having an off day, but for an establishment like Spavia -- especially at this price point -- the service was totally uncomfortable & unacceptable. To say the least. I'm writing this review on his behalf, as it was such a disappointing and demeaning experience that he prefers not to relive it. To their credit, the managers immediately expressed concern and offered to "make things right." Since he was unable to explain his level of disappointment at that time, the managers advised him to write this review. Which we sincerely appreciate. We only wish the experience itself had reflected the high standard Spavia is known for.

Services: I received a massage by Eric and a facial by Sami! If you're looking for a relaxing massage that is comfortable and relaxing but not painful or uncomfortable as some massages can be. He applied the perfect amount of pressure especially in the problem areas I experience from a very bad car accident. He asked the appropriate questions, & focused on the areas that required the most attention without creating a painful pressure that would've been outrageously problematic during our service. I left feeling relaxed and comfortable-- price for service is ideal and reasonable. Sami did my facial. She upsold me on a service which I can appreciate as she felt it would be good to include. Prices for these services are also very reasonable and on par with affordable services without gauging your wallet. I received a diamond dermabrasion and as always, am thrilled with my results. She was considerate of my skincare needs and decided to lessen the suction to save me from irritation. Thanks girl! We did an oxygen infusion as well and although I don't know much about the science of that service, it's a fun add on that enhances the experience therefore making it enjoyable and fun. She was informative but allowed me to sit in silence for the more relaxing portions of the service which is awesome because although I love a good chit chat, I do like to relax as well during my services at least during the relaxing portion. If you're looking for professional services and a relaxing experience, do not hesitate to select this place for your day of pampering. You will leave relaxed and feeling fabulous. From the owner: Infrared saunas are different from a traditional sauna because they penetrate beneath the surface…read moreof the skin. They use wavelengths of light that are invisible to the naked eye called infrared. These wavelengths do not just heat the skin, they go deep into the body to warm from within. This is a far more effective method than a traditional sauna. Traditional saunas use mind clogging steam to heat a room. The hot air in turn heats your skin. Unfortunately for traditional saunas, the heat only warms the outer layers of skin. The body feels almost no heat deep within. If you were to attempt to feel the same penetrating heat from a traditional sauna you would have to remain inside the steam room for over an hour.

While the massage itself was good, it was extremely frustrating to pay for 90 minutes and receive significantly less time. The business should either schedule consultation and preparation time outside of the appointment or clearly explain that it is included in the advertised massage time. Unfortunately, this felt like a waste of money and was very disappointing. Update: Wow! Even look at the response from the company. Saying a 90 minute massage only gets 50 minutes of hands on time. What a rip off!!!
